Nah, there is a rumor that the Spurs are going to draft him. They said Elliot hurt his knee while working out for the Spurs and ever since then teams were unable to contact him, on his twitter he says he fine though. He's exactly what the Spurs need with the departure of their 2 SGs, + Pop loves combo guards, . Elliot even skipped the combine which would really hurt his draft stock.

The Spurs have made promises to picks in the past such as Batum but they were unable to draft him.

I saw a pic of him next to G. Henderson who is a legit 6'5 with shoes, Elliot looked about an inch taller, he could be a bigger version of G Hill. Elliot's defense is real good though, he can guard the 1 and 2 and shoot the 3.

I agree with addressing the SF spot, the only SF that could prolly do that would be Pondexter who can defend multiple positions. I also think the Spurs want a SF that can shoot the 3.

Who knows though, we have Gee and Hairston at SF waitin.

Oh and since I highly doubt the Spurs re-sign Mason who played SG/PG last year that leads me to believe the Spurs are looking for a replacement. With Williams the Spurs also have a chance at creating a pretty darn good back court with Williams/Hill which would last for a looong time.

Another reason would be Manu's new contract, by drafting Williams they gain another SG that would provide some offense while Manu rests.
