Helmuth is terrible at high stakes cash games and everyone knows this. That hand was a perfect example of it. It's amazing to me how much he gives away the strength of his hands. Ivey knows exactly where he is and gets max value. Also most of the 11 bracelets he won were in the 90's when there were like 200 ppl in the fields. He is better at tournys though.

The reason Phil Hellmuth is a losing cash game player is because his ego is too big. He can't handle bad beats and he thinks everyone is out to get him. On the other hand Phil Ivey is a humble player who knows when to get into a pot and when to stay out.

@thekvm lmao Hellmuth is not paying that much just to 'see the cards'. Ivey was very polarized here. The turn and river are blanks, so for Ivey to bet the river either he hit the flop, or he has air. Hellmuth eventually leaned toward the latter. No player is going to pay off that big of a bet just to see the cards. EVER.
