Theres a lot of other 3D and 2D designer apps and a variety of desktops you can try. Just do it ;D
And concerning this testosteron issue:
Who could ignore, you're pretty much attractive, but its the same matter like with the Monalisa. You can just regard something beautiful but now one tells you to always start immediately a relationship if you do so.
My self would lie if I would say I wouldnt watch your show also because of the visual nature. But I wouldnt ennoy you with wow you're hot.
Linux is all for you, _IF_ you think you are woman enough to use it. I only recommend it to those who are gutsy (willing for a real challenge to try new things) or really intelligent (not the type to go in with full guns blazing without first learning a thing or two about it). Fortunately you happen to be classified as both. :-) Good Luck. Start with Ubuntu, Knoppix, and/or OPENSuse. There is a ton of software out there that is open source ($Free$). Learn how to compile & install from source.
hi Eve i´m a SOFTIMAGE|XSI character Development..you are so Cute... you remember me that TV series from the 80´s "Max Headroom". the change of the voice and stuff... good Video.. good job..one day when less busy i will make you a 3D intro to your show and dont worry free of charge lol.. i enjoy make 3D...bye Geek Girl =)
You've got all the software you want in Linux... All of it. But computers come with Vista preinstalled... no choice, and no support if you wanna choose your OS. That's something that must be changed. I wanna get rid of Vista, I really do, but there are no drivers for my laptop if I want to go back to XP. Luckily I've got ubuntu, and virtualbox to use WinXP.

I really want more girls Interested in Computer Science, It's really hard to look for one nowadays, I attend high School has a Junior, since I was a freshmen I have always been facinateed with computers.
All the girls I know are let's say, "Not smart enuf for me" they are cute but what i'm really interested is their reality of life, reasoning, and knowege.
Try Using React OS, finnally opensource NT based OS.
Geek girls are out there, but remained outnumbered by geek boys. I don't know what caliber college you plan to attend, but look at the ones that participate in the five college exchange near Amherst Massachusetts.
Two of the schools are all girls schools. I went to Smith and knew many smart and attractive computer science majors. One even got recruited fresh out by Microsoft for her AI thesis! Through the 5 college exchange you can even take a class at Smith and have the rare opportunity to be the only boy in a CompSci class... surreal!
Yes, Linux is absolutely Unix like. But when I think of Unix, I think of command line interfaces. Only some Linux OS are simple command lines, most have an open source windows-like gui built on top. And Mac OS is about as gui as they come... and not open source. So although there is a relationship between Unix and Mac OS, I don't see much of a family resemblance at all.
I recently bought a laptop. While shopping around and talking to people I know who have vista I decided to go for a refurbished Compaq with XP Pro. Vista, partly because it has a lot of pretty gizmos and gadgets on the desktop, is very resource hungry. I figure that the previous version of windows is the better version. One day I would like to get a macbook.
Hello, GeekGirl. I like your insightful, yet fun, commentary. I fully agree with you about Vista. I have to keep Windows around and will stay with XP Pro at home. I run Mac OS X, too, but can't afford an Intel-based Mac. My two other computers are Linux boxes. I've rebuilt the first one four times and it is easy to get a good, compatible 3-D video card. Open-source software and GNU Linux give you total freedom of choice, the antithesis of Microsoft!
Sadly, GeekGirl, I have no superpowers, but I am content. When it comes to computers, I have accomplished what I've done via the apparent "secret" of reading documentation. ;-) I make this joke because I have spent most of my career as a technical writer, creating software documentation that probably rarely gets read! 8-)

Uhm. Heyo.
Following things:
MacOS runns on top of a Darwin-Kernel.
Darwin ist basically a FreeBSD.
So nothing with Linux as basis ;-)
Another issue: Try KDE4.
With KDE4 you have a usage feeling similiar to MacOS. I'm using here Gentoo Linux with dual screen and KDE4.
Its wonderfull.
Then for 3D you can try blender, or proprietary VariCad.
And the new Gimp is very similiar to Photoshop as I heard from designers, so its worth a try.

If questions occur, just make a PM.
Im hacking around in the kernel code and I'm developing also for other FOSS-projects, like OpenMoko (linux smartphone)
So perhaps, I can help ;)

anyway, both Mac OS X and Linux are Unix-like OS's :P
