The poor bastards that had to hit the stage after that set never had a prayer...This was the last show John played in the US, what a way to go out...The Who are immortal.
FOR ALL THE HEROES THAT WERE LOST ON THAT TERRIBLE DAY FROM A EX BRITISH PARA THAT GOT MY BOOTS DIRTY WITH THE USMC AND 82 ND AIRBORNE IN IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN ALWAYS WE WILL BE BROTHER IN ARMS !! LOVE RESPECT TO U ALL FROM YOUR FRIENDS FROM ACROSS THE POND OUR BOND WILL NEVER BE BROKEN !! TO MY MATES STILL IN COUNTRY COME HOME SAFE AND TRY TO HAVE A GOOD XMAS !! 2 BATT PARACHUTE REG BRITISH ARMY !! ! DEATH FROM ABOVE !
....speechless. How many bands today can have ALL their members be absolute LEGENDS. Lets have a bit of a look shall we? 1: Keith Moon 2: John Entwistle 3: Pete Townshend 4: and perhaps the Greatest front man music has ever seen (this side of Robert Plant) Roger Daltry Lady's and Gents, I Give You: The Mighty, The Sonic Assault, The Powerful, The Legendary... THE WHO
John had a crazy style of playing his bass. I've never seen anyone who came close to his style and talent. Even Gene Simmons, the God of Thunder, can't compare to The Ox. And Gene's one hell of a bassist! I hope John's up in heaven with Keith Moon, driving God crazy with their awesome musical talents!
The Who!! you still rock after all this years...Thank you so much for your love support to our beloved America! and our Heroes!! God Bless You! Aloha.....from Hawaii.....
I saw the concert on tv that night. Great performance, even though they all were out of tune. This proved to be Entwistles' last performance, as he died of a drug overdose the next year
@macdisciple that's me. Dewayne Sullivan from Nashville, Tn. I had the honor of being the "stage man" and grip for the entire concert! Best time of my professional life! They were gentlemen of the highest regard. Ox shared my water bottle here at the end.
