  • "Most good things have been said far too many times and just need to be lived."

Instead of complaining, go do something about it.

  • The segment at 00:13 has nothing to do with textile manufacturing; it's some kind of metal stamp or punch operation. Makes me wonder about the rest of the video.

  • What buy more gap?

  • If the people want higher wages they need to rally and unionize. The US went through the same thing during our industrial revolution. If you look at this from an evolutionary stance, then the people are transitioning from an agrarian society which I would say they were up until recently to an industrial society. These people have options and choose to work here consider their alternatives and you want to take them away. More info on my page on facebook The Cynical Optimist other subjcts as well

  • raulsman if you are so tough guy go to work yourf for like 1 cent a hour and feed your familly fr this i think u are big mouth total idiot too

  • The asian girl with a mask on her face was from a fake sweatshop on the MTV cribs skit from the chappelles show lmao. I love that shes the face or the sweatshops haha.

  • Yup but the footage thats okay because that was not the important part.

    :P

  • Gap really does have "no responsibility" for these sweat shops since they merely contract out for these factories to produce their overly priced piece of fabric. BUT, it's the fact that they contract out to these foreign countries to produce them, all the while knowing that the work conditions would be extremely harsh, that makes them responsible. Yet they fail to admit it in their vacation yachts.

  • Funny cause the computers/laptops we're all viewing this video from probably has parts made in one of these sweat shops, yet we're sitting here just commenting away.

  • Yup, probably...

though pictures of Apple factorys have been leaked and they look pretty good :p

  • ARE YOU FUCKED?!?!?!?!!?

People like you should be put in jail for saying that, know your HUMAN rights. Your so UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

I'm hating you for life. Your like... wow.

  • @RaulSmen Exactly. People like you should only be able to get the bare minimum to live. No more. Nothing. That's all people like you deserve.

  • All I got to say is PROUD TO BE UNION!!

  • I use to work at a Gap Outlet in the backroom and the conditions in the backroom would have made the Fire Marshalls scream if they had seen how things were set up in there.

  • so americans gat paid 60 dollars a day to fold the damn clothes and the makers dont even get 6 dollers to make it

  • not one of these videos is true, i've surfed all over the topic of sweatshops and it's all farcical. i worked in a sweatshop and i know it's not glamorous work, it's just work...i've made everything from running wear to picture frames, don't tell me i'm wrong.

  • Yes you may have worked in a sweatshop, and this is not to say that ALL sweatshops in ALL countries have this going. Many factories provide many benefits to their workers. However in some countries this is not the case. Your argument is one sided.

  • not exactly, you just don't want to face the facts, here's one for ya'....gap, Nike, coca cola, Heinz and any other corporation does not own these businesses, they sell the contract to the business owners overseas because it's cheaper. trust me I'd rather do it than some asshat in Asia but they agreed to a lower wage so i lose. either way factories are not pretty places, they are there to get the job done. no need for anything more.

  • You have just contradicted your self. I am facing the facts. I know that the companies do not own the factories, and most companys use them. I also know that inspectors go and check up on the factories, but often they get a warning and clear a way the illegal stuff before.

  • (cont from last post) hat being said some companys, like apple for example, use factories like foxcon that provides many benefits for their workers.

As you said, "its not glamorous work, its just work." This is true. But compare FoxCon to the real pictures above and tell me that it is fair work. Tell me it is safe work. Its not.

  • no one "checks" on factories, osha only goes when they recieve a valid complaint that can't be delt with through the mail. a lot of those pictures above are of crying children, note they are not in a factory setting, they are just crying. when osha shows up it's a surprise, no warning. if you worked in a 3rd world country sweatshop then tell me, if not then stop defending that which you do not know.

  • Once again you are contradicting your self. Going from its not that bad to its shit and nobody checks it etc.

I have never worked in one of these factories. I admit that. But I have spent months digging up facts. Major companies send inspectors occasionally.

If you really worked in a third world country factory, wouldn't you rather people spread the word to hopefully provide modern day benefits to you and others in this position?

  • P.S. Look carefully, they are sewing GAP logos.

P.S.S Your myspace doesn't say anything vaguely related to a third world country

  • There is a loop whole where basically Gap and any other company are not held liable if they contract to a company, that then contracts to a sweatshop.

Its almost essential for business, yet human rights are comprimised.

  • yes your right mate both the just care about buissnes to make money roling and ern maximum profits too...i used to work for some company i was wrking like 12 hours a day 7 days a week for very low pay and i ern a fortune for my boss and company too..... it not fair bth the roling buisses like this

  • oh my god.

i would shoot the nike owner if i had the chance..

  • I hate how these sweatshops are exploiting young children who shouldn't even be there in the first place. And we don't even know how much these big corporations know about the whole thing. I read that in China, people make a whole business out of preparing sweatshops for audits by making fake sets of books and hiding underage workers. How unethical does this need to get for someone to stop this concept of cheap labor?

  • omg all the people who do this!!! it is not true!! if people were still using sweat shops these days then we would never have the amount of clothes that we do today!!!

  • Thats true, BUT! the sweat shop conditions are terrible and young children work in them! Think they are so great now, miss donkey?

  • thanks for maken the vid!

  • wow that is not so cool like not the best i would hate to be in an sweat shop like omfg

  • Ye its pretty bad. Make a video too! TELL THE WORLD!

  • OMG! THE MUSIC IS SO ANNOYING! SORRY

  • yeah it kinda is hehe, but nice video
