  • Whether it was his fault or not - surely he should just be given further training and get him back up ASAP - its not like we have millions of RAF pilots is it? You can quite clearly see just how much the guy was fighting it...and thats what we need - guys like that who live on the edge - in my eyes a brave son of a bitch - GET HIM BACK UP FLYING WITHOUT DELAY!

  • He screwed up and it was all his fault trust me...............im a Cottesmore engineer who was in Candy bar that day

  • @Styrne It may have been his fault but he is obviously a good pilot or he wouldn't have had this job.

  • would also like to loint out it looks like the pilot was in full control of the aircraft apart from the rate of decent

im not trying to put the pilot down im british and proud of it we all make mistakes even highly paid fighter pilots

  • buy a copy of airforce monthly youll find crash reports in the back there are atleast 3 books covering british crash reports i know this because i have them, youll also find a few ppl on here who seem to know the pilot and all have diffrent stories strainge that one lol as for hydraulic failure i work in hydraulics (servo valves) when these things fail you either lose control very fast due to a servo failure or locking or you lose it slowly due to loss of fluid pressure the vid shows neither

  • @TheChunksterboy i will also add if it was a servo failure he wouldnt have been able to land as well as he did and if it was a low hydraulic pressure failure it would have have been so slow not to be a factor in this crash he also managed to pull the nose up pointing it to not be a pressure failure if you remember the famous f-14 crash in the early 70's that was a hydraulic pressure failure and it nosed strait in after the pilot tried to save if for way to long

  • the pilot was a new pilot on his first tour and was removed from flying from what i have read in the crash report the crash was his fault as he was coming into land another aircraft pulled onto the runway it was deemed he had enough time to go round but chose to go over the other plane and land but his rate of decent was to high if you look at the aux air doors just behing the cockpit they opened just before impact showing he had applied full power but to late

  • did something go wrong with the plane?

  • I don't blame him for bailing out. He did well to stay in for that long.

  • @himself000 this was about 2 months ago

@ FLYBYpictures the pilot also suffered 3rd degree burns in the ejection as you see in the video he realises the cockpits on fire and he ejects feeling the heat of the canopy blsting open and the heat of the aircraft.

  • Dayum! How recent was this ?

  • aww, he won't be flying again for a while!

  • damn two hard landings, plus ejecting out of a plane, must be one hell of a pain for your back....
