Probably because some braindead right winger said, "Hey, they're going to have that damn communist Pete Seeger sing", and the idiots believed him. What a shame. Of course he's in Aussieland. I think he would want to sing Waltzing Matilda, or some of Cowboy Slim Dusty's songs. The Aussies can related to him. The average Aussie doesn't know or care who Woody Guthrie was.
