Along with Raiden and TerraForce this is one of the best shoot em ups of all time. Loved playing Thundercross (bloody tough though). The boomerang gun was too cool.
This was completed many times over, succeding R-Type, the other shoot em up of this generation... I can only tell you i loved this game, and the music that accompanied it, we shoot some ass back then, we boomeranged the mother fuckers back to bedlam, we really kicked ass

Thunder Cross 1's music is in Konami Music Masterpiece Collection Disk 5, and Thunder Cross II's music is in Konami Game Music Collection Volume 4. =D
I used to play this game with my little brother at the coin-op laundrymat as a teenager. Great game with excellent music. However, the 1st and 2nd levels were switched in the version we played.
great game i had the original jap mother board clocked it twice and a bit it gets harder every time you clock it :) great music classic old school shoot e'm up , bring them to the next gen consoles plz thx for nice post m8ty.
TC's music is great. Did the composer(s) also happen to work on the Thunder Force series at any point? Because this game's music is very reminiscent of TF's, especially Stage 4.
I especially liked the KONAMI soundchip used in this game's hardware because the chip had the power to make brilliant music like this. Sadly, the chip was only used in this game only.
I like the Thunder Cross game series, but I hate the final stages because if you are out of live on the final staqges , its an immediate game over regardless of how many credits you put in the game.
jeesus........the amount i spent on that arcade machine at school playing this. i can't imagine how much in total xD! i loved this game...spent one whole lunch hour to complete it. and just for nostalgia i got it for mame heh. damn good game ^_^
i used to play in back in europe in late 80's. we only had about 15 games there and they would usualy be ther for a year beofre being replaced, used to be able to pass it 3 or 4 times over and over with 1 credit, there is lots of hiden score things, each level has it i think. US verion total sucks, but i found a way to convert US board to run japanese software and now probably have like 5 or 6 of the orgiginal PCB's. Love the game 1 of top 3 favorite games of all time
the game cmae out in 1988 i use to play this game at a bar in nejra spain the games come in the grauis lifeforce nemesis fmaliy :) a very fuin to play indeed wish it was poted to psp
Hi,Tks for posting this video,u're good!this used 2 b my favourite game in the early 90's! U can also try using 'B' as your weapon n u dont need 2 worry as it will bounce up n down and hit the enemy cannons below n up the wall.U dont really need 2 adjust your cannons either while using 'B'.Just spread it open 2 the top n bottom end of the screen.I totally agree with u, the music r really good.

Acutally, YuGiOh spawned a card based on the ship of this game named "Blue Thunder T-45".

令人懷代的遊戲
不過看完有點失望...我以為你只用一條命就全破關
(當年我一命破關三次~=_=+)

This game and Thunder Cross II have epic music. It's a shame they're mostly underrated though. =(

Emon Five's music pack in Otomedius Gorgeous is all remixed tracks from this game.
Good, classic stuff.

No, Jac2Mac. Continues are not allowed on the last stage in both the US and Japanese versions.
