I like her music... just wish I could understand the words she sings.. its just so confusing.. and everything sounds the same.. like a cry or some kind of mis fortune... all her songs sound the same..which is not so great after all.

when this song first came out and I heard the chorus to it, I got a really strange feeling like almost a trance thing. Like very intense deja vu. I KNEW this part of the tune although I'd never heard it before. Then i found out later after i bought the album that she took the chorus from an old mummer's song in Abingdon, Oxfordshire! That's where my ancestors lived before they came to America in the 1800s! That was really weird

@Appleblossoms7275 I kinda understand what you're saying. The very first time i heard this song, it was like somebody or something sent a bit of chill right down my spine and back into me heart. There's not too many other songs that can do that, and i guess part of it is bc i'm 1/8 Irish. Fro some reason, bluegrass music does the same thing sometimes--i don't understand that either. If you know anything about what a 'mummer' is, though, i'd be honored if you could explain it a bit.

i have a live version of "lady of shalott" that absolutely blows the original out of the water. friend of mine gave it to me and i don't know where or when it was, but i do know that it's damned amazing.

not a big fan of this version of this song, though. the straight bass/snare drumbeat shatters the magic and loreena sounds almost mechanical singing along to it. if her voice wasn't so completely awesome it'd be a dud.
