  • Well the movie sucked bigtime and ruined my day

  • @ohmyjenwow The movie pissed me off more than anything. Sorry about the movie buddy, but the graphic novel is amazing.

  • Great review it is an amazing piece of fiction very clever indeed. Best books iv ever read are the Dark Tower series by Stephen King they are totally different to his other works i seriously think they would change your life

  • Amazing review! The structure of the novel is so strong!

  • Watchmen was phenomenal thanks for the recommendation. Watched the movie recently and was surprised that they were actually able to put an adequate portrayal of the book on screen. Oh and my favorite book is the Serial Killer's club, great read.

  • Dude, it's not a book. It's a comic book. If you think this is one of the great works of fiction, you need to pick up some Vonnegut, Wilde, Poe, Fitzgerald, or Steinbeck, to name a few.

  • @PookySharif it's portraited as a book dude ,but its the comic book series put together.

  • @mkfan1997 Right. This guy claims this is the best book he ever read. Book. That scares me a little.

  • This isnt a book, its a cmoic-book! ;o

  • For comics, I REALLY enjoyed "Dark Knight Returns" (I'm a Batman fan) and while "Watchmen" is definitley one of the greatest comics EVER, I would have to say my favorite comic is...we;;, actually yeah, "Watchmen", "TDKR", and "Identity Crisis" are some of my favorites. Grant Morrison's run on "Batman" has also been THE best regular comic series.

For book books, I love "First Blood" and every Sir Ian Fleming James Bond book. The Bible is amazing too.

  • It's not just about heroes..

  • I agree it is my favourite book of all time.

  • Lord of the Flies. Hands down. Ive read watchmen and its great, very intellectual, and Alan Moore did a great job. Movie sucked but hey thats what ya get when you try to make a great book in to something retards can understand.

  • my favorite books is the otori books by Lian Hearn

  • THE LAND OF ELYON FTW

  • I DON`T KNOW IF U HAVE EVER READ THIS BOOK (THE QURAN) BUT ITS THE BEST BOOK EVER. the bible was the best when men hadn`t written their desires in it. its nolonger the word of GOD.

TRY READING THE QURAN FOR UR SELF IN ENGLISH AND SEE. ITS FULL OF MIRACLES and guidance for mankind. dont be biased read it for urself. no one can ever, EVER WRITE A similar book like it

  • I think the movie isn't as good as book. I like Alan Moores work, very intellegent guy.

  • million little pieces and My friend Leonard (James Frey)

best books i have EVER read...Time travelers wife was good to =]

  • if you haven't read the book...you will not be able to understand the movie!!!

  • great vid

  • best book ever read.. a comic book? you haven't read much books...

p.s. no offense...your taste is respected.

  • it´s not a comic book, it´s a graphic novel

  • i thought you could get the point.

A graphic novel is a type of comic book, usually with a lengthy and complex storyline similar to those of novels... thats the only reason its called "GRAPHIC NOVEL" oOOOO so deep!

if you think this is the best book ever written as well ..then you haven't read much books either.

  • have you read the graphic novel, its a pretty good book. The only "comic" to receive a hugo award and the only comic to be in Time magazines "Top 100 English-Language Comics of the 20th Century".

  • why would you put comic into " " <--?

i agree this should be a pretty good book, Top 100 comics right? but can not be the greatest book ever! lol as the topic suggests...

  • hard to say. the three best series that Ive read is twilight, maximum ride, and Percy Jackson and the olympians are pretty good.

  • twilight saga is really good

  • you said that you want to read a best book ever in my opinion is PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIAN SERIES

    it is awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Who watches the people watch the watchmen?

  • I saw the movie and it started off good but i like got so confused because it jumped around so much i still have no idea what it's about i think i wasted my money let alone a good three hours ill never get back now the real question is will reading the book help me understand more than watching the movie?

  • I think everyone who judges Watchmen for being a graphic novel should shut the hell up. It is quite possibly the greatest piece of literature and art ever. When people think of comic books, they think of the cliche of good vs evil. cheap one liners and empty, irrelovent plots. But comics havent been anything like that for 30 years. Thats right, since watchmen came out.

If we could rid the common ignorance of graphic novels, it would be a stronger world, a stronger loving world to die in.

  • My aunt bought me that book and I saw the movie. It almost follows the same as the movie line.

  • yay someone feels exactly like me

    watchmen is awsome dude

rorschach and dr. manhattan all the way

the comdeian and rorschach aka walter kovacs are twisted while manhattan is

like a mix between an alien and a superhuman which was extrodanary

and laurie aka silk spectre 2 daughter of sally jupiter is just a damsel in distress

night owl likes laurie aka silk pectre and loves being a hero ozymandias aka adrian viedt aka remses2 is just a rich snottie dude that hates war.you video was

    awsome!!

  • The best phrase by rorschach in this book

"the world will look up and shout save us i will look down and wisper no"

oh and my other coment was just summing it down for people

and manhattans name is jon osterman

and the comedians is edward blake

i love this book so much after i read it i got

    the comic book movie!

  • Watchmen is the best book i ever read. I loved the idea of Alan Moore making an alternavie 1985 . I loved the story, the heros, and the movie. Its just plane flat friggin awesome! I recommend it to all readers who want to try something new to read.

  • i love the watchmen book.... my friends got it and it took them like 1 week... i got soo hooked it only took me like 4 days... Some good booke i like are the Brian book... they are a little kidish but they are great and awesome about a kid who gets lost in the woods and stuff and they are great because they teach you about what to do when you get lost..... Theres my input.... Oh and the watchmen graphic novel is best then the movies because there is more stuff in the bo0ok then in the movie..Bye

  • YESSSS of course.... Im sure you can also find it at your local book store

  • is this the paperpack edition or the hardcover edition?? please reply

  • Paperback... the hardcover is much harder to find.

  • I saw it at Barnes & Noble. Like $50 - $75.

  • they had it at the comic book store at a mall by my house for 40 bucks i bought the paperback for 20

  • If you're into graphic novels check out "The Dark Knight Returns" by Frank Miller about Bruce Wayne becoming Batman again after being retired for 10 years. Its tonally, similar to Watchmen and if you dug Watchmen, you'd definitely dig it.

As for novels, personally "Slaughterhouse-Five" by Kurt Vonnegut gave me the same reaction you got from Watchmen. Knocked me off my feet.

  • I surely will! Thank you for the info.

  • exactly right, watchmen and the dark knight returns

    \the best

    \watchmen movie in 2 days

  • where did you buy it and how much?

  • Any Comic Book shop or Barnes and Nobles book store...

Its really cheap... like $20 or less

  • Reading books are still awesome and I'm a serious gamer.

    Best books:

    Watchmen

    Batman: The Long Halloween

    Brisingr

Those are my top three, hands down.

  • IM A SERIOUS GAMER MYSELF MAN!

Nice Books... You should also check out The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams!

  • Sweet, I actually saw the movie. Was the book any better?

  • does that book have violence? because the front cover has blood if it has violence im buying it now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ummm... yes. You have to read it to fully grasp it.

  • i like that guy rorshach looks awesome that guy, is he a gangster he looks like one???????????????????????????

  • He's the most ridiculous character in the book. He's like a skitzo who trys to eliminate all evil in his own super violent way.

  • should i buy this book? i have never read it but everybody saying it's good i need more infomation first plz.... :D

  • It's more than a good read. It's a real eye opener. If you've ever loved superheros AT ALL... it makes you realized some radical truths behind who they really would be.

It changed my perspective on things.

  • I saw the movie, but I never read the book. If I've already seen the movie will reading the book be unamusing to read?

  • best book ive read......love and pleasure in the bedroom by ben dover

  • im going to be honest. i never read a book before this one. and to be honest i dont think i ever will. i saw the trailer for the movie and it looked amazing so i said wat the hell why not? and it was literattly incredible. i thought being me ill read a chapter and quit. but this waz amazingly entertaining from start to finish. im praying the movie is as good as the book

  • Rant-Chuck Palanuik. its about rabies and time travel. awesome.

  • alan moore said he was inspired by harvey kurtzman's parody of superman in MAD comics (predeccesor to MAD magazine) called superduperman

  • Also try - Alice In Sunderland by Brian Talbot. But if you really must read a book to change your views on life their is only 1! The Museum Of Lost Wonder by Jeff Hoke - seriously this book is like no other.. seek it out.

  • dammn right! Watchmen is a work of friggin genius! u shud read more uh Alan Moore {ho ho ho} amoungst his best are- D.R & Quinch, Skizz, From Hell {book is absoultely unreal and intense}, V For Vandetta {a tale of anarchism vs facism}, The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen vol 1-3. If you think this book changes your views read the rest of his works..

  • just ordered the hardcover. im excited to read it aswell as watch the movie in march

  • I REALLY NEED TO FIND THE HARDCOVER!

  • The best books I've read so far are "Standing up to the Madness" by Amy and David Goodman. "Principle-Centered Leadership" and "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People" By Steven Covey. "Race Matters" by Cornell West. And that's about it so far.

  • Yo, I did a video response to this video of yours, check it out on my page, you'll see lol. Its my favarote books.

  • Hey mate,

Check out my review about Watchmen.

    I really adore the book...

Anyway THERES A VERY GOOD WATCHMEN REVIEW ON MY CHANNEL! PPL RATE IT GOOD:)

  • RIGHT ON!

  • I really need to read this book....

  • Probably the best thing EVER. It's only like 15 bucks too.

  • I downloaded it

    Read it

    Loved it

And now im gonna purchase the absolute editon which is gonna cost me 135 bucks :P

  • WORTH IT!

  • Zach Snieder (sp?), the director of "300," is directing the movie. I think he'll stay true to the book, just like he did with Frank Miller's graphic novel for his previous movie. This book is one of my favorites as well.

  • He is .... you've got to check the vids under my favorites. It shows the behind the scenes making of the movie and one of them has an interview with Zach. Check em out!

  • One of the best I ever read it.

  • I heard about it... if hollywood does that... I'll make SURE to bash the living shit out of them here on Youtube!

  • I love the watchmen it is very dark, snyder will kill it dead I will hate him forever

  • LOL, not to be an ass ... but in response to his opening statements about books having stuff not found on the computer:

I read Watchmen on the Internet. LOL

(Don't worry, I still ended up buying a copy).

  • its one hell of a book

  • i agree with all your praise fully

i normally hate books but watchmen was just... so... well indescribable

  • You sir... are 100% CORRECT!

  • if the movie is bad i do believe my soul will be crushed :[

  • There might not be a movie at all if FOX has anything to say about it. Look into that on Google.

  • Fox has apparently backed down... they no longer want to kill the movie... they just want some cash. Trust me, it will get sorted out before March 6th. And even if the movie sucks (which I don't think it will) the book will still be there... if the movie sucks then that will just make the book seem that much better.

  • Thank GOD... so my Birthday will still be awesome (March 8th!)

  • i agree with you 100% i hate books so much since i was a little child, i just couldnt stand books. even graphic novels on my favorite TV series, i just couldnt STAND them. but i read watchmen, and i cannot stop. this book is incredible.

  • :] woo

  • Usually I can't stand the costumed superhero type stuff. I know they're supposed to stand out but seriously.

  • Shinings is AMAZING!!!!!! RED RUM!

  • i need to read a book for like once in my life and this has my vote picking it up tomorrow

  • It's worth it BELIEVE ME!

  • I just finished it, and I wholeheartedly agree -- it was not only the best graphic novel I've ever read, but it ranks as one of the best BOOKS I've ever read. PERIOD. The short bits at the end of each chapter were icing on the cake, making a world with a god-Like teleporting blue man seem utterly believable. I can't wait for the film.

  • SAME HERE!!!!! I understand and agree!

  • Hey if you love Watchmen you've probably already read Alan Moore's From Hell,League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and Top Ten also works of genius

  • Funny thing is I was thinking about picking out a book at Barnes and Noble the other day... I guess I'm going to have to try it.

  • Who watches the watch men?

    the clock

lmao, I gotta read this book though

    looks sick

    Thank Chris

  • It's worth it man..... Believe me

  • Thanks for the book tip.

    My tip: "Constructive Utopism"

For more info, check out: Channel [molaskes] Title [Constructive Utopism (part1)] Duration [04:55]

  • Hmmm Thank you for that!

  • wow funny i finshed reading this comic a while go.

i suggest V for vendda(which is as good)

  • YEAHHHHH I agree totally.... I hope they make the Watchmen movie as good as V for Vendetta was...

  • Watchmen is also one of my favorite books, and certaintly my favorite graphic novel. There is nothing else like it. It does things that only a graphic novel can do. And that's why I'm not sure about the movie. The trailer looks great (and faithful), but I just don't see how the heck they are gonna turn this story into a movie, even a 3 hour movie.

    And yeah...the ending is awesome!

  • I said the same thing... my friend told me they were thinking about changing the ending in the movie.... if they do that... Im going to hurl my soda into the projection room opening night....(I mean it)

  • The best two books ever:

1.Infinite Love is the Only Truth: Everything Else Is Illusion by David Icke

2.I am me I am free by David Icke.

    ~Anne

  • Hmmmm I'll have to look into those...

  • No I havent... What's it about?

  • its like if Buffy was a fine black girl thats also a singer. it gets deeper from there. vimpires, were demons, were humans, witches, Cain, Adam, Eve, Hanibal, man err body in it.

  • Bow Chika WOW WOW~!!!!!!!!!

  • lol indeed
