@TheHickstead For the most part yes. With all bindings screws come loose and with EST bindings that can be more more of an issue then normal binding with 4 screws. Bindings are only as safe as you are... so if you check you screw's regularly you will be good to go.
I bought a Burton Whammy Bar 2012, because of its ultimate playfullness, flex, pop and whatever. To match this playfulness I chose the Malavita est 2012 bindings, but im still doubting wether I should take the restricted ones with the wingtip hi back or the normal ones.
I want to keep the playfulness as high as possible. could you help me make the decision? (or if you think another binding is better then those suggestions are very welcome too!)
You did a sweet job on the video, and helped me learn more about my bindings, and this isn't a personal insult or threat or anything, but where's DAVE!?
@HoustonAnne The non EST are going to work with any board where the EST will only work with Burton boards with the channel. EST also allow for a true flex pattering, the non est will create a dead spots underneath your binding. The wingtip highbacks are going to help keep from putting to much presser on the nose or tail. which is good for those boards with a really soft flex, make sure you dont nose out as ofter, aka flying over the handle bars,
Seriously cant wait to try out my new burton hero R 158 with these bindings in the park, especially on rails. Went from a 2005 palmer honey pro non twin with around 10/10 flex, hoping these bindings and my new board will make railing alot smoother!
Got these in mat black and a 151 Flying V custom rockin Ion boots <3!! Just getting into the sport figured a comfy setup with tons of customization thanks for the reviews!
@BladeEdgeRider i would get the medium unless you really going to get a pair of 7.5 boots. if you get the 7.5 boots size your going to want the small but if your growing get the mediums
Iam getting the restricted malavita EST 2012 bindings, but what size I should get?, my boots are the ride duce size 8 though I might be a 7 1/2 in size sometime in my next pair.
@BladeEdgeRider hey, man I always (and will continue too) ride burton bindings, i always have the same toss-over in between the small and mediums, I've found that Small usually fit better, i wear a size dc super park and they always fit supreme and with mediums the high back is so tall it can be over the top leaving me foot sore!
I just noticed that on the burton website of the board I want to buy (nug 142) it says on it's size chart: binding size medium/large.
What would be wrong with a small binding on the board? prehaps not enough foot bed size to support and distribute pressure away from the channel screws when cranking the G-force? (is EST that weak?)
Are est bindings as safe as non-est bindings?

@thehouseboardshop so it is true that I need to carry a screw driver with me!

@TheHickstead It's not a bad idea, But you don't need to. As long as you check your bindings before you go out you should be just fine.

If I did get a 7.5 boot would I survive in a medium size malavita?
BladeEdgeRider 5 months ago
@BladeEdgeRider Depends on what boot you get and if you still growing. a 7.5 would fit best in the small bindings.
