  • 99 people missed the like button with their cum.

  • He is a great player but he plays so fast that he breaks his own tempo to emphasize certain parts. That has some merits but it also means the piece isn't as fluent, and isn't the masterpiece that Beethoven composed.

  • best performance ever

  • he was agitated while playing this piece,,, i like the way he played... INSPIRING... i would like to try it...even i know i couldnt play this piece(n_n)

  • Think of all the reruns of Gilligans island he missed from practicing the piano everyday after school.

  • dude @7:30 shut the fuck up

  • MOTHER OF PIANO.

  • Add to Favorites

  • Brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hmm

At the moment I play this piece a bit slowly compared to the best, but I think I can still take some inspiration from the dynamics and control they show, even if I play it slow

  • IS THAT FROM FUCKING MEMORY!?

  • Wow. He hits those keys like thunder! I LOVE THIS!!!!!!

  • What amazing talent and oneness with the piano, a true connection to this great work of music. Well done!! I believe Beethoven is smiling down on that performance!!

  • LOVE his changes in tempo!!!

  • Very professional playing and the Sonata was played full of emotion. Bravo! (clap)

  • Esse cara e muito bom, ele e muito foda meu, puxo o saco mermo!

  • Eu toco isso, no meu sonho!

  • Hands are like jelly o.O

  • His facial expression is awesome!

  • this is the classical version of headbanging music \m/

  • Induce a seizure when you are near a piano and if you are lucky this may come out

  • wut my omgwtfbbq comment with a hundred thumbs is removed buhu ..

  • this guy is amazing

  • WTF ?

  • :O

  • Exelent interpretation

  • beethoven hands, beethoven hair, beethoven suit.

    PERFECT!

  • good

  • i love his hair. Great Piano playing by the way tooo!!!

  • he alternates the tempo like a true master, i salute you sir!

  • thasyanvt9 liked your video.

  • This is so cooooooooooooooooooooooooooooolllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

  • I'm trying to learn this piece, it's so marvelous. It's eighteen pages of music!

  • 0:13 pinky did not hold on G# thru out as should be. This is like technical issues which should not even be discussed in professional piano playing. Is this guy famous or something? I actually do love his intrepretation and playing but that's just something you should NEVER expect to see from a professional pianist. This was written down by the genius Beethoven himself, not left to intrepret. Disappointed =[ (go check every single other version, none has this issue)

  • @slbaaron Yeah I noticed that too, he plays the higher G# with finger number 2, therefore making it impossible for him to reach the lower G#. Perhaps he had small hands at the time he was learning the piece and simply forgot. You can barely notice a difference though and I believe this interpretation is amazing to listen to. It's quite hard to tell if that G# is being sustained or not because there's much more going on.

  • @NCONiall Thx to modern day piano and pedal actually. You can also hear his pedal is a bit clustered as well (which wouldn't be as bad with a piano from the time of beethoven, but making the absence of sustain on G# very obvious.) . Definitely not the best version in technical stuffs but like I said, I do feel his own emotions and style in this and I mean no offense to this man. Music is a very subjective subject, respect.

  • where is the delete the cancel dislikes

  • 92 likes bieber :p

  • does it say rubato on the score? haha :)

  • so fast...:( Tzvi erez is the best!!!

  • I like the way he put his own spin on the timing here, great break from the norm. This is wonderful.

  • Whats with the lag?

  • Beethoven was a real genius, truly magical and captivating. I would call him a genius without knowing he was deaf, knowing he was deaf just emphasises his true genius.

  • now play it backwards!

    Like it :D

  • this guy is cool at playing the piano its hard for me! hahaha

  • I feel the corners of the universe folding in on themselves when I listen to this song.

  • hmm the old willy kempff is better.....

  • This guy is brilliant!!! I love his skills! So talented and 100 stars!

  • too fast ;/ no pleasure

  • How can I feel indifferent to this music, this man's virtuosity ??

  • this was so marvelous it made me cry...such talent and such a wonderful piece.

  • Virtual!

  • this is terible wat am i saying its the best piano playing ive eva heard :)

  • 86 pessoas gostam de comer merda!

  • Pois é, eu acho que ele sabe tocar!

  • I'm really sorry but this performance feels...ordinary... all that big sound is too...sudden, no nice transitions; all just bangy, empty bombast, more a showpiece, and less like art! :x

Apologies for those it offends, but its just my opinion~

  • Just remember Beethoven was going deaf and I dare to say no one who was or is afflicted with that dreaded handicap could do better. Understand the man and the you will understand his art. It was truly God given.

  • @sconaway66 Good sir/madam I agree with your concluding statement, but mind you the moonlight is one of his early sonatas. Yet his later sonatas, composed when he was even more deaf, have a much stronger "singing" feel to them, and can require alot more holding back! Any one of them decently-played will substantiate this; though I recommend Serkin on the 1st Op110.

To think that Beethoven=deafness=angst and nothing else is a serious error. I made it myself when I first tried this song - avoid!!

  • bravo!!!!!!!!!!

  • no point in playing something as fast as you can when you can't handle the whole piece at the same tempo

  • O cara é um Deus!

  • all good musicians have crazy hair

  • I hope the piano was at least 18....

  • I do like this performance.

I don't know why so many people think it's not good :S

  • A piano piece is always a mix of the Composer and the performer, I think should be a bit less himself and more Beethoven,

Oh another C#0 on this perforimg too, looks nobody can hold the temptation of pressing that key on this one, I was doing it, but now I'm gonna play that key too, I'll say "well I saw it in youtube" :)

  • 84 deaf people watched this video..

  • Nice hair cut ;) & nice perform too

  • this interpretation is dubious, not sure if i like it or not

  • @fateplus1 sorry but if you can not perform something just half as good as that you do not own the right to even imply that is even slightly close to been bad

  • @marcelofernandes21 i can....

  • @marcelofernandes21 sure i do my right to judge has nothing to do with my actual playing ability.. im sure he can play it better i just think that the way he breaks time is a weak way to emphasize certain parts of the song, i dont mean to say he's unskilled in any way or that he is "bad"

  • @marcelofernandes21 He was commenting on the interpretation; obviously he is a very good player, but I certainly agree that some of his phrasing and tempo choices were not on par with many other pianists. Look up Wilhelm Kempf or Vladimir Horowitz playing it and you might understand why...

  • @rkniffy yeah i didn't want to be negative but i found his tempo changes and rubato distracting and unenjoyable. but obviously he has amazing talent, yes

  • awesome!!!!

  • 7:23

"Please, dear lord! It`s the "Beethoven`s Moonlight sonata"! Will you be mercyful, o dear lord, and keep me alive for my playing so fuckin` great?!"

  • 80 people likes the reggaeton .l. xD

  • @crilon12 86 NOW!

    HOW AWFUL!!

  • @crilon12 What's wrong with reggaeton...

  • what is the track during the credits called?

  • @ThatSaggyKidd Sonata no. 23 Appassionata, mvt. 2

  • @hunthax wow, thank you so much, i need a break from playing 3rd mvt moonlight, i got rsi in my wrist, ha ha

  • He scared himself plenty of times when he hit the chords after the runs.

  • When I first listened to this opus I was reading "The Call of Cthulhu"...imagine the impact...It will always remember me of the Great Old Ones and the storm of tourment and dispair Humanity is about to experience

  • I am seriously addicted to this piece of music

  • Presto agitati! nicely done!

  • his fingers came alive after that.

  • really expressive thats why like it

  • sorry screwed up hahaha

  • why is it when people head bang to metal it becomes a problem and get accused of being possessed but when?

  • I don't even think its even possible to read sheet music off a song like this

  • from 6:58 to 7:05....the silent !!! it's diminuendo and piano, true, but sound has to be listened

  • the guy at the ends so intense

  • not even any sheet music, astounding!

  • HAHAHA PAUL RUDD!!!

  • Very technically impressive, but it would be nice to hear the tempo stay at a steady pace.

  • Comment removed

  • @neckface413 i'd like to see you play it at any pace please post video when your done :)

  • @xIRiseIx

I love how whenever someone criticizes a player's performance, someone always has to assume that the critic thinks that they are superior to the player in any way...

  • Comment removed

  • @chris110012 well clearly this idiot has no idea what his on about. this piece is NOT played at one tempo. IF someone criticise's someone the should atleast get there fact's right and explain themselves or it just proves either they have no idea what they are talking about or there just another one of these troll attention whore's or they simply crave to be as good. correct me if i'm wrong dear sir.

  • @xIRiseIx Here Here... there are several noted signature changes in the piece. So I agree, the piece is not meant to be played at one continuous rate. It wouldn't sound nearly as intense, nor would its subtleties be as effective.

  • @xIRiseIx

It may not be played at one tempo, but where it should be at a certain tempo, there are some inconsistencies. You're being a bit hard on him, though.

  • @chris110012 hmm i guess but i prefer musician's that can take away a piece of music and make it there own rather than being the same as everyone else if they all did that what would be the point? and no i'm not i'm sure his old enough to take it all in and to process the information. in my personal opinion to reach this gentleman's standard take's year's upon year's of dedication and hard practice IF criticism need's to be made ATLEAST make it reasonably constructive followed by a explanation.

  • @chris110012 Agreed, but equally annoying are critics who don't merely dislike something but act like a player they dislike is inferior in every way, "can't play", is "an idiot", etc. No matter what you think of this performance, it is objectively obvious to anyone who understands music that the player is a complete master of the technique required to play the piece in any way he chooses. If he's chosen a way you don't like, it's manifestly false to imply he's incompetent.

  • omg his wife must be very pleased with his finger skills

  • @jan47wim He doesn't have a wife anymore... She died whilst being fingered...

  • @jezer7777 pmsl

  • @jan47wim haha that was my first thought

  • I had no idea Paul Rudd could play like that!

  • tiempo !! tiempo !! metrónomo !!

  • Lmao, Ok Drone.....

how can an interpretation of feeling and soul be played at the wrong tempo....

    like I said LMAO

  • The tempo's all over the place

  • @insideoutface It separates the different phrases. Music sounds best when it mimics speech and converses with itself. Imagine that the different tempos are different people speaking with eachother, it will make sense.

  • @christopher19894 Interesting...

  • Wonderful song :)

*Insert stupid-ass Chuck Norris joke here*

  • Sérieusement, BRAVO A CET HOMME :D

  • Wow!

  • yes that man raping piano oh shit ! poor piano

  • Brava!!!

  • Bad tempo...

  • WOW ... I love it! thank you :)

  • u are a fake !

  • @badman80 u are a pussy !

  • Is there anyone who knows this recording ver CD?

    where can I buy this?

I really want to listening mark salman ver.

If Beethoven would listening this play, will be proud of him

  • now that is piano spaz!

  • i like Lisitza's interpretation better. This feels kinda "forcefully emotional" :s

    Still, he nails it.

  • @eggisaman True. The guy knows how to show off with perfect technique and flawless playing, but that's not all a good piano player needs to have.

  • When a seizure produces piano music of God.

  • man the piano got banged

  • 6:45-6:48 - He came. I'm learning this myself and picking up some dynamics tips from the pros. I like this version but the softness of the Kempf version still wins for me.

  • This is exactly how you should love a woman. I'm half serious. :3

  • piano rape

  • 6:48 Mark Salman just had an orgasm, ladies and gentlemen.

  • @amonnaheadbutcha

    ROFL :O

  • really interesting interpretation of the song...guy looks like he's having a seizure though

  • They said, long ago that the closing bars " RUSHED TO THIER DOOM: , I think this fellow has got it. WJW

  • piano: "ouch dude! take it easy!"

  • HEY WATCH THIS GUY ' WIMESTONE' is his channel

    HES REALLY GOOD

  • dynamics: excellent

    tempo: excellent

    expression: excellent

    an excellent performance!!

  • @13pianomaniac hahaha lolo

  • This is how Bruce Willis would look if he played the piano.

  • He hits the arpeggios a bit fast and gets carried away with the stuff that is easy to go fast on.

But he really does a good job interpreting it and making it dramatic. I wish he had the same devices but with just a bit less exaggeration.

  • Ok, Ive hear the Interpretations by Bernd Glemser, Rubinstein, Kempff, Seta...but not one was that good like this one! I love it!

  • This is amazing ! I'm learning this piece wish me good luck !

  • He plays spectacular, but he interprets zero. I know it's impressive for people because of the power he gives it. But Beethoven already thought about that "power". While piano is predominant, he placed sforzando notes and fortissimo enactments to this. I know there are a lot of versions, but I really hate when I cannot feel the composer's mood back when he composed the sonata. Still, Mark is a terrific piano player.

  • @yowyOw69 How on earth would you know what Beethoven's 'mood' was when he wrote this? This is a beautifully executed and passionate rendition. I think it is great interpretation and could well reflect the great man's mood at the time.

  • @yowyOw69 I Agree with you, but i think the "composer interpretation" is not better or "badder" than the "player interpretation", they are just two point of view of a same piece. And for me i like "player interpretation" cause we ear ( or see when the "re-write" the partition) some aspect of a piece that we perhaps never know before. (Sorry for the bad english but i'm french)

  • Love it!

  • Very impressive O_O

  • Best interpretation ever

  • WTF!!!!!!! I CANT BELIEVE IT IT´S AMAZING !!!!!!

ONE DAY I WILL UPLOAD A VIDEO OF ME PLAYING THIS SONG

  • And he's cute, too!!

  • Bravo man, bravo!!

  • lol this is damn fast compared to other videos i watched

  • @adambrooks1000 Ass..

  • my life is complete now :-)

  • Mark Salman is awesome! but imagine hearing Beethoven plays this movement himself... what a beast he would be...

  • Musicians spend years studying privately, at colleges and music schools to then go on into teaching, examining, lecturing and judging......What a waste....It seems all you really need is a You tube account and some basic, limited knowledge in classical music...

  • he has really good dynamics.

and who are the people that could dislike this?!

  • Well if speed is a sign of playing a peace well, then he is best - maybe. But keep on thinking, when this master peace of Beethoven was composed. It's way to fast. Slow down Mark - please!

  • @felixrex20021 The tempo marking is "Presto agitato" for this movement. I think the tempo in this performance is perfect and conveys all the turbulence inherent in the music. I love this interpretation.

  • @felixrex20021 I dunno...I think Glenn Gould plays it faster...

  • @cocacola443

Faster, slower. This portrays the right emotions.

  • @frichikendz "Faster, slower. This portrays the right emotions."

Totally...tempo is a fairly minor piece of the entire package, and Salman's interpretation is definitely beautiful. :-)
