hello, I play bass guitar at my church, we are learning this song, we are using the casting crowns version, would there be anyway you might be able to have your bass player show me how to play this song? I've heard a few runs/fills in there and I can't figure them out, any help would be much appreciated. Thanks and God Bless! :)
No way, it's the Bleeker. Hey bro it's Josh's cousin from Cali, how funny, just surfing youtube for the new Casting Crowns song, and hey, here you are. Hey I never gt to talk to my couz because he's so busy out there. Can you tell him hi for me? Thanks. Rusty
This was one of the main songs at a Youth Camp I just returned from. There were many saved, rededicated, Baptized, and I and four others surrendered their Lives to Full-Time Christian service. This song was such an Awesome Blessing to the group. I just Love how it goes to through the Whole gospel in such a beautiful way, and the new melody is Amazing. Thank you.
cmteapole: I wrote the music to this old hymn in 2006. Mark Hall called me last year to ask permission to use my version, but wanted to put in his chorus that he had sung for a long time. We split the song 50/50. I promise that no copyright infringements have been made.
MrMikeCR: You are correct, I didn't write the words, I wrote the music.
Kaker1515 if you pay attention Michael says is an old hymn....he didn't write it either, the hymn is called One Day and it was written by Presbyterian evangelist John Wilbur Chapman (1859-1918) around 1908. Mark Hall grew up singing that hymn (One Day) and Blessed Redeemer
DIDN'T CASTING CROWNS WRITE THIS SONG????? THIS MAN SEEMS TO CLAIM HE WROTE IT!!!! BUT I DONT THINK SO...... LISTEN TO THE MELODY OF HIS SONG AND LISTEN TO THE CASTING CROWNS SONG. (In which i like but....) IT'S THE SAME THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DUDE SOME COPYRIGHT FRINGES HAVE BEEN DEFINATELY BEEN MADE.!!!! YOU REALLY NEED TO LOOK INTO THAT.
Michael, I go to the Village and serve through Recovery. Think that your writing, along with Matt Boswell's, is some of the best original worship out there. It sits on a theologically firm foundation. Thanks also for the worship at the Men's Retreat. Can you guys put out a video of "To the Cross I Cling"? Think the Church (universal) will be blessed by it. Thanks for posting the same to the Village weekly worship site!
Thank you for your comments!

I don't think God is too worried about copyright infringement when it comes to praise music ;)
