  • Ahoy, '09 March 5th, Mates, Memory: 1/2: who sang "Midnight at the Oasis?"Maria Muldaur(sp).DockRocker of MdDS Supp.Site

  • A lovely, though short track. Nice things come in small packages, at it were.

  • aye, lovely stuff...

  • INTERESTING..is this the lady who played the vibes for Zappa?

  • Essra's response to query:

No, I didnt play vibes. I sang with the band. Also I sang and played piano as their opener. That means when they did 3 sets a night, I did 6. Plus opening to whoever was playing downstairs at the Go Go (Cream, Procol Harum, Grateful Dead, etc.).

  • Amazing! The stories u must have!

I wish I had been born 20 yrs earlier, so I could've experienced those times! Such originality & freeness! You could still surprise & shock people then. Everybody wasn't as jaded & "seen it all" like they are today! I got to taste a bit of that growing up & coming of age in the late 70's. I didn't get turned on to Frank until the late 80's when I was 25. But I came from the school of P-Funk, Sly Stone, Prince & David Bowie, so Zappa was no stretch by then!

  • Ruth Underwood played vibes for Zappa
