The one thing that I dislike about this scene over the old one is that it sorta makes Sephiroth look old and plae with a Michael Jackson grin rather than the badass burning merciless stare of hatred in the old version. Still amazing in detail though.

seriously.. the guy who came up with the original must be pretty well off. It is getting kind of old though (has been for a while)... and now a new problem comes up. Even if they wanted to progress the story past Seph, no other new villians will live up to the fanbase and hype he created, effectively dooming any sort of sequel the ff7 franchise could come up with. I mean.. look at Kadaj and co (either fans love them or hate them) and don't get me started on Dirge's crap parade.

Let's see now, in AC they made him sadistic, which he was in FF VII, ex. Sephiroth stabs Cloud in the shoulder, and then says, "Tell me what you cherish most. So I can take it." The fact that he wanted to make Cloud suffer did his sadistic nature justice. The way he wanted to take control of the planet and use it to get to others, just like Jenova did, that's true to him as well, because he realized he was "destined" to be Jenova reincarnated.

His plan in AC was to first make Cloud suffer and ultimately beg for death, which Sephiroth would willingly give. Then, he was going to use the Jenova/Geostigma tainted Lifestream to corrupt the true Lifestream and ultimately gain control of the Planet.
