  • Invisible to radar? Imagine that'd screw with air traffic control for the strip.

  • I got one complaint, needs better wheels. Cheers Air Force, thanks for your service.

    Ron Paul 2012

  • Amazing this fighter was picked over the yf-23. A plane with a cost of about $350 million that cannot drop bombs is insane. American political corruption at its finest!

  • @PremiumWater YF-23 looks cool maybe it will get green lit in the future? the f-22 is an air superiority fighter meaning its not created to drop bombs, it can be fit with AGMs if need be though. beautiful aircraft

  • i love America and our amazing military. the best jet ever created.

  • It's just a pity that the Raptor costs $350 million a copy. The Air Force can't afford more than 190 of them. They really needed the original number of 750 to replace the entire F-15 fleet.

  • @cff121

Luckily indeed, they didn't buy more of

    these $350 million white elephants.

The Raptor has been labelled "Craptor" by

many knowledgeable quarters, and it is the

F-23 which should have been your current

    air superiority fighter.

  • @ThamMalaysia Lastly, why is the -23 so superior anyway? Because it looks more exotic? Did it appear in your video games? Because thrust vectoring is 'too new' for you?

  • @ThamMalaysia There are always skeptics. The $350 mil you cite is not the fly-away cost of the F-22, which is ~143 mil, substantially lower. And, you will find many pilots from around the world that will tell you the F-22 is the best of all fighters in the world today and most probably in the near future. I too am a YF-23 fan, but I'm glad the real experts made the selection and not people like us on YT.

  • I want to start a religion that worships this plane as a god.

  • I am so greatful to live in a Country that has these types of aircraft, and the fine men and women keeping us safe. Thank you to all our military.

  • More videos like this please!

  • (continued from previous post)

" Here's a hint for the USAF, if the plane is in a dogfight, it's not stealthy.

Everyone knows where it is, ever since this invention called radio was

added to airplanes. And if it is in a dogfight, it is as vulnerable as an

F-15 to the most deadly air-to-air missile, the heat seeker. "

    I agree totally.

  • @ThamMalaysia Yes "heatseekers" wich we made countermeasures for such as FLARES genius wich is stored in every aircraft of the USAF inventory and other branches!

  • @ThePilot4life

Flares don't work against most modern heatseekers,

    which have built in ECCM.

Examples are Iris-T, Asraam, Mica IR, Aim-9X

    Old hat, really.

  • That blogger also went on to mention -

" They (the USAF) got their dogfighter, at $200M (now $350M)

a copy. What sense does it make to have a stealth dogfighter

that needs to shoot down enemy planes at a rate of at least 10 to 1 ?

  • One doesn't have to be an expert in radar or stealth

    technology.

Common sense - the parallelogram wings and highly canted

ruddervators (parallelogram themselves), its "duckbill" nose,

as well as the very smoothly, curvily-streamlined airframe,

instantly tell us that the YF-23 is far stealthier, and slipperier

at the same time, than the F-22.

As one blogger mentioned - " the Air Force is now stuck

    with an $ 200M (now $ 350M) aerodynamic barn door " .

  • I'm blinded by its majesty!!

  • The large elevators could be designed for the tangential torque induced by an aileron roll, and the elevators can[probably] assist in dissipation of that tangential momentum. Just like the MiG-25.

  • BUT!! could it take down a battle ship?

  • Incredible plane & super handsome pilot!

  • It would be a dream to flight that thing. I'm gonna be in the USAF. Can anyone tell me how much your average jet fighter gets paid and what subjects you need to know. BTW, im only in 8th grade

  • @GodofSnipers1 you need to be super good at everything, especially maths

  • This guy is not an F-22 driver. His wings are not gold on his patch. All AF pilots have gold wings on their flight suit. He knows general knowledge about the raptor that anyone can read up about on the net.

  • @Sleeperking05 LOL of course he is not a F-22 driver, but he is a pilot of a car

  • I'm so jealous of you americans and your Raptors!

  • He said staelthy. The drop tanks on the wings give the plane away on radar.

  • @MrPocketWatch1 That's why you can drop 'em..

  • @MrPocketWatch1

That's why they don't carry them in combat, moron.

  • @MrPocketWatch1 stealthy

  • Of course I'm a pilot, can't you see my eyebrow?-

    Bill Engval

God what I wouldn't do to fly one of them.

  • Like others have said before hand, they discontinued the project due to how expensive f-22's are

  • "Its... almost unfair" HAHA!

  • The AIM-9M is a bad missile by today standards. They should have armed it with MICA-IR instead right off the bat.

All the more than the F-22 won't have an HMS and won't be able to use its 90 deg off boresight capability.

The MICA-IR has about twice the range of the 9X block2, so the F-22 would have been able to launch it in BVR before it's detected.

  • Hasnt the f-22 been discontinued because of astronomical costs and much lower than claimed performance characteristics ?

no wonder lockheed-martin employs pilots to "sell" the plane to the public.

  • @pvtdangles No, it was just too expensive. In fact, it had better maneuverability than what was originally thought. Just too expensive, that's all.

  • @pvtdangles It's production has been halted short of 200 jets because of the cost and the fact we don't exactly have a urgent need for them at this time, being in 2 wars where air superiority is not a problem.

It has nothing to do with it's performance, it's performance is the thing which is astronomical.

  • @pvtdangles It was not, RAH heli and B2's were. Unmanned predatorB cost 15 time less and it does about the same job (bombing civilians and uprising terrorists ). Russian modern radars (active or passive ones) are meant to detect stealth planes and that's IMHO reason why USA have never attacked Russians.

Cuba was special case, cuz Russians were just responding to missiles deployed in Turkey by the USA, thats ofc not that well known fact (you wont ever see on BBC or Discovery). Screw aby haters...

  • it is indeed the best Fighter Jet out there...By the way i have a personal question for you Capt. Michael Trujillo....are you Mexican?

  • why they have these they dont use em just waste of money they havent proboley been used

  • I translated everything he said into english: "I am a god and i am way cooler than you will ever be"

  • how awesome it must be to be able to go around and say you fly this monster. i can imagine him going to a school on career day saying he flies the F-22. who cares about its damn price tag...ever hear the saying less is more this is the perfect example of that

  • @BRIANROX1 Saying you a SEAL or in DEVGRU is much more B.A, but this is definitely still awesome.

  • Euro fighter would make mince meat out of this fat belly plane

  • im english and i must admit... the F-22 is the best AIR FIGHTER plane of all time (well it WAS as ur president barak obama stopped the project). but u guys have too remeber that the EF is not a fighter... but a multirole. and it is a fact that the only thing the f-22 is better at then the EF is AIR FIGHTING... but the EF kickes its arse at most other things. so in a dogfight its a good 75% chance that the F-22 will win. but then again we will never know for sure as they wont fight eachother.

  • When you say EF, do you mean the super hornet??

  • He means EuroFighter Typhoon.

Something that shouldn't even be compared to the F-22.

  • i have a lot of admiration for pilots. great profession

  • I love this aircraft the best out there im tired of people saying the f-22 is crap and they think the eurofighter better pft this would own the eurofighter im sorry....what can beat a ninja?

  • agreed. US laws banned the raptor from being exported because the Raptors RCS is really small to be able to be exported it would have to have a RCS of0.011 ft² or the RCS of a JSF and the Raptor's is lower making it really stealthy

  • @maheru999 its like a rogue in world of warcraft noone can see haha.

  • @maheru999 a samurai owns a ninja looooool

  • I think I met this guy at the Langley Airshow

  • Sajak is a pretty cool guy to know.

  • Jello .... :)

  • Beautiful plane, nothing out there can even touch it. God bless America!

  • @TonyN737

Euro fighter would make mince meat out of this fat belly plane

  • @grumm70 no

  • @TonyN737 there better not be anything out there that cane touch it because if anything touched it it would fall apart. the skin on the raptor is extremely fragile cant even withstand small bullets.

  • @TonyN737 Beauty means nothing in war. Russians radars are said that they can detect just any of these stealth planes at hundreds of km away (active and passive radars). If those planes were undetectable, there would be no Russia. the USA is biggest aggresor in the world and it eliminate just any threat it can. Russia is the only country that can face the USA (plus China, but USA economy depends on China, funny isnt it). If there was any God, he wouldnt imho bless country that kills most people.

  • @thomaspruzina well a few months ago there was a joint russian-american fighter mission (practice not real life) and we used f-22's and they used their stealth fighter so im not hating on you im just saying that we are one step closer to becoming friends with the ruskies:)

  • @TonyN737 your right nothing can touch it ..because if you live a fingerprint it cost about 4 million to wipe it off

and for every hour you fly it , it has around 3 in maintenance

and now a toast to the worlds most expensive fail in history

  • @evoldevildogs fail? tell that to the 244 pilots that were shot down at red flag by the f-22, and how only 2 f-22's were shot down in the entire duration of the event. 244/2...... not such a failure after all.

  • @TonyN737 except for EFT, upgraded F16... and pilot himself just said that it is useless in gun dogfight. "You open the doors, gun spins up..." and guess what? Target has already moved. And very few of missiles actually hit.

  • Outstanding. Thank you Capt. Michael Trujillo, and thank you AFBuetube for posting.
