  • why cut so much of maria's lines. That was one of the few paragraphs she had yet you diminished it to that. Why?

  • @Armilin621

    Hey Armilin621. We cut:

"desire the spleen" "is turned heathen, a very renegado; for there is no Christian, that means to be saved by believing rightly, can ever believe such impossible passages of grossness."

"like a pedant that keeps a school i' the church. I have dogged him, like his murderer."

As it is cut, she gets a lot more laughs and the audience is less confused. Sometimes, you need to cut a little. Only sometimes though.

  • Did Act 2 scene 3 ever get put up? We're going to do that scene and I'd be so grateful if i could take a look at what you did and maybe get some inspiration.

    thanks!

  • Do you have the wooing scene with olivia and viola? (: I love that part of the play, it's so romantic and funny!

  • Brilliant blocking. Amazing acting. The director and actors should be proud!

  • Awesome acting. Much better than the movie

Do you have the video for Act 2 Scene 3? We did that scene and it was a blast in a good way. Kinda wanted to compare it with this play.

  • I do have video for 2.3 at my home, but am away from till mid-July. I'll put it up then, if you'd still like. And thanks for the complement!

  • Hmm a 20 year old performing in his 'school' play and a 40+ adolescent hardly qualify as professional critics of what is or is not 'Good' Shakespeare! As one having reviewed and viewed Shakespeare productions on three continents I consider this quite a good production of Twelfth Night for a small company. And yes, I am English born & bred.

  • thers nothing wrong with toby's appearance, he's just woefully bad

  • american's still cant do it, sir andrew's linea are totally wrong, this is absolutely awful acting

  • It's good for the human race to stretch what one person once thought- That's a huge part of the world we live in: stretching the envelope...Who wants to do theatre that is the "same old thing"? That is not progressive, that does not make people think, and, therefore, that is hardly art.

  • Saying everyone who plays a certain role must be fat is just ridiculous, and boring. That is only one idea of how a role should be cast.

It's good for the human race to stretch what one person once thought- That's a huge part of the world we live in: stretching the envelope. It's 2007. "Waiting for Godot" has been done by women, "Godspell" has starred a woman playing Jesus numerous times, the list is tremendously long!

  • Aw, nothing so clever as a generalization, Mr. multality... The artistic director of that theatre IS a Brit. God forbid, they choose a *different* "take" on Shakespeare. The important thing is that Shakespeare is still "alive and well" and being done, not that they're doing it a certain way, silly.

  • sir tobys meant to be a fat, rude guy, Americans really don't get Shakespeare...

  • I agree with that about Sir Toby, but can we not generalize about Americans here? Is that really necessary?

  • YES! ok, your right im sorry.
