"desire the spleen" "is turned heathen, a very renegado; for there is no Christian, that means to be saved by believing rightly, can ever believe such impossible passages of grossness."
"like a pedant that keeps a school i' the church. I have dogged him, like his murderer."
As it is cut, she gets a lot more laughs and the audience is less confused. Sometimes, you need to cut a little. Only sometimes though.

Did Act 2 scene 3 ever get put up? We're going to do that scene and I'd be so grateful if i could take a look at what you did and maybe get some inspiration.
Hmm a 20 year old performing in his 'school' play and a 40+ adolescent hardly qualify as professional critics of what is or is not 'Good' Shakespeare! As one having reviewed and viewed Shakespeare productions on three continents I consider this quite a good production of Twelfth Night for a small company. And yes, I am English born & bred.
It's good for the human race to stretch what one person once thought- That's a huge part of the world we live in: stretching the envelope...Who wants to do theatre that is the "same old thing"? That is not progressive, that does not make people think, and, therefore, that is hardly art.
Saying everyone who plays a certain role must be fat is just ridiculous, and boring. That is only one idea of how a role should be cast.

Aw, nothing so clever as a generalization, Mr. multality... The artistic director of that theatre IS a Brit. God forbid, they choose a *different* "take" on Shakespeare. The important thing is that Shakespeare is still "alive and well" and being done, not that they're doing it a certain way, silly.
why cut so much of maria's lines. That was one of the few paragraphs she had yet you diminished it to that. Why?

Brilliant blocking. Amazing acting. The director and actors should be proud!

Awesome acting. Much better than the movie
Do you have the video for Act 2 Scene 3? We did that scene and it was a blast in a good way. Kinda wanted to compare it with this play.

I do have video for 2.3 at my home, but am away from till mid-July. I'll put it up then, if you'd still like. And thanks for the complement!

sir tobys meant to be a fat, rude guy, Americans really don't get Shakespeare...
multality 4 years ago
I agree with that about Sir Toby, but can we not generalize about Americans here? Is that really necessary?
