why is there always a war on these pages for ANY band being the best ? just revel in the majesty of the era,the best for music.and most of it English ! every band from that period can change our perception of life with one song, luckily, jethro tull and so many of the others made lots of fantastic,mood-changing music
this group i think far exceeded almost any 60's or 70's "thinking men's" rock and roll. their musicianship and song writing surpasses all. great song and great post!!
@stroh013 Jethro Tull's song writing is great, but it doesn't compare to Rush's impeccable songwriting of the mid 70's, or even Mike Rutherford songs from Gabriel-era Genesis.
@LeftiesWillRule =it is subjective, but Rush's songwriting did little to change thinking and culture. Jethro Tull made younger children study music history and take up playing instruments. In the era of the 70's, not many groups compare to the overall intellectual community like Jethro Tull's music and lyrics did. Mike Rutherford wrote some nice songs and were entertaining, but Pink Floyd overshadowed that type of songwriting. I leave it to each individual to choose what they like best!!
@stroh013 I desperately wanted to include Pink Floyd into that masterful songwriting club, as they are my favorite band of all time, but I cannot do so honestly. The chord structures are great and the riffs are well written, but they do not compare to the intricacies of their contemporaries. Pink Floyd manages to do much more with much less, as can be seen by Gilmour's solo style, but save for Wright's occasional influence, it is much simpler than the rest.
@LeftiesWillRule = again, i said it is subjective and talked of social impact for the factual aspects of the groups named. i never spoke of Pink Floyd's musicianship and only mentioned their songwriting. you miscontrued it into musicianship, so i only clarify that part of your comment. music and words are seperate, Pink Floyd for words, and not music was my point. happy listening and to each their own as far as who is best or less.
love it im 27 my g/f is 24 and she introduced me to mr anderson and jethro tull i was more into rap now i own every album they have put out katie is 24 u wld think she was born in the 60s went and seen rush last mnth in greenville sc awsome show sat in the 2nd row from the stage mr lee is still carrying on like he was in the 70s i have awsome memorys to tell my children and katie had a fun thats what its all about
@koviack No, just disgusted to encounter yet another troll in this fucked up world, on a page with an awesome song. jasoncarrol didn't do anything wrong, so I don't see the point in your immature remark.
@SleightlyDangerous Scum sucking lawyers lol...? Ian Anderson stated in an interview "I was writing an album that was exploring people, the human condition, through analogies with the animal kingdom. And that particular song(Bungle in the Jungle) was perhaps the more obvious and the more catchy of the tunes."
I remember so well when this came out. Many thanks to Aqualung1989. I think it was this album that marks Tulls' journey into consecutive Rock n Roll album hits. I do think this song was much over-played in the UK. There are other songs just as good on the album.
YOW and WOW...this guy has shared his great TULL stuff...What a good and thoughtful fella to let us ALL hear same and all we have to do is a few quicks clicks!!!

What bitrate was this uploaded at? Is it an mp3 or wav? And lastly, is the recording from a remastered release of the "War Child" album?
