I am so insanely sick of this Melee vs. Brawl debate. I am equally tired of the overly competitive Melee players saying that Brawl has no strategy involved whatsoever just because it's less competitive. I am equally tired of the Brawl-biased people who refuse to give Melee any credit just because Brawl has more options and better graphics.

Melee and Brawl were both excellent games. People should learn to accept them both for what they were and all of their differences.

Well he would be more technical and strategic if he didn't have these overpowered properties. As is he's TOO strong in some aspects (f and u tilt have too much priority, Snake Slide, 3A is a kill move, he's HEAVY...), dumbing him down in a way.

He may be heavy, and his moves are a bit strong, but his forward and up smashes are SHIT unless you can actually hit someone with them. I never use his side smash in a serious fight because it's simply too slow.

Besides, who would you prefer to play? A player who actually knows what they're doing with Snake, or a noob who spams smashes and grenades? :P

And just thought I'd say, I'm more or less a casual gamer. Take it easy on the retarded abbreviations. It took me a while to figure out 3A. XD

I said forward and up TILT not smash, lightly holding in the directions.

Up tilt has dumb forward range, it hits further than it should. Fwd tilt x2 is the knee and then the pounder, the knee alone can cause trip which can lead to a mixup. If they attack, you shield-grab them, if they roll behind you, you forward smash. Or you always could just combo right out of it into 3A.

The explosives part of his gameplay does make him more technical, but like I said, other small things dumb him down.

press b and hold shield. when you shield the grenade drops at your feet and you can pick it up and use it as a regular item instead of doing snake's awkward throws.

I just need to find out how to do the dashcancel to upsmash, which I assume has a fairly obvious answer. I figured it was just pressing up on the c-stick or performing an upsmash right after the dash hit, but it didn't work.
