Joey and Pacey are not true love. Yes he thought he was in love with her at this time, but True Love is what Andie did. She is totally in love with him and realizes that she can't have him and encourages him to go after Joey and find happiness. That is True Love.

No They were not proving anything. At the time Pacey thought he was in love with Joey. Pacey basically used Andie to go to the prom to see Joey. Andie realized at that point that Pacey was in love with Joey. So instead of being a bitch she told him to go after her; even though she was in love with Pacey. That was the true love.The way Pacey broke up with Joey at Promicide; he would have never treated Andie like that. Basically Pacey lost respect for Joey

In Season 6 episode Clean and Sober, Pacey admits he never gotten over her. Also, even after she breaks it off with him in that season, they never would have ended up back together in the seriee finale if Pacey lost respect and love for Joey.
I disagree. The way he broke up with Joey at the prom showed he had lost all respect for her. By the way the ending you saw at the end of the show was not the intended ending. If Meredith Monroe had been available for two weeks you would have had a Pacey / Andie ending. Joey was never intended to be Pacey's end game till the last minute

I didn't use it, in my opinion because they had a rewrite for Pacey and Joey. Putting Pacey /Andie together would not have felt right since she was gone for so long. I disagree, but alright. Just think about this. She dumped Pacey end of season six to be with Eddie. KW admits; if he gets Meredith; Pacey gets Andie.. He needed the actress for two weeks not the one day she could spare. With the limited time he had her it felt like Andie was going to be a consolation prize. He could not develop the story line. So at the very last minute he cuts the scene and gives Pacey to Joey. And Dawson movie fame. Everyone got something

I just read where he says pretty much that he realized Pacey/]Joey were the better couple and made more sense than Dawson and Joey. IMO, he think he may have wanted Andie for Pacey because he wanted Dawson and Joey. For my sake, I'm glad things changed for whatever reason, but sorry you didn't get what you wanted for what's its worth.

I've still yet to see a scene in any movie or tv series that is such a poignant display of longing and desire as this one. Credit to both actors, especially JJ.

Joshua Jackson is such a great actor. He sort of reminds me of a younger George Cloony. He is such a charmer. He should be more recognized for his talent.

Well said. I just think, more than anything else, the revelation of the P/J relationship broke up Dawson's alternate movie reality so bad he could never see either of them the same again.
Movies were his reality, and he cast Joey as his "soulmate" concubine, that would always entertain his hobbies/talents w/o regard to hers. He cast Pacey as the womanizing chronic screw-up sidekick whom he could look at and then feel better about being more moral and consistent.

Pacey was made to look like the angel/best boyfriend ever while Dawson was made to look the villian. Real life triangles are more complicated then that.
I dislike this triangle because most were painted unfairly.
Pacey. Well, the end of season 6, minus the series finale, is Joey in Paris, alone, but the series ender, and the resolution of the triangle, is her and Pacey.
i was always a dawson joey lover because i believe in true love and friendship, but pacey and joey go way beyond that! they actually belong together, dawson should stay just a friend, for both of them but that's sometihng he's absolutely not to pacey, even though he says he is, dawson is really selfish in fact!

You know, i just realized that the scene with them dancing and Dawson sees, it's the first time he has seen them intimate at all. I mean, he broke them up before they could do anything else and this must be a big blow to him to see Joey so affected by Pacey. Hehe.
I remember watching this show and not really getting the whole Dawson/Joey thing...and then when Pacey came into the picture, it just made it painful to watch D/J...Joey always looked soo bored and unhappy in their scenes and Dawson was just kinda pathetic...but maybe that's just me.
The difference between dawson and pacey is that for dawson it is al about himself and with pacey it is al about joey.
I dont like the charakter andy, dont asked me why, but in this scene i admire how she handle it, she doesnt dwarl in self petty like dawson but she can see/feel the pain joey have

wow, andie's such a great friend. she's super understanding and supportive. the 1st time i ever started being fond of pacey's character was when he was with andie thru their hard times.
altough Dawson is Joey's best friend I think Pacey knows her better it seems like he loves her so much he pays attention to every single detail that has to do with her and unlike Dawson later on he proves to truly loves her when he tells her he will step aside and still be her friend as long as she is happy even if it means she is happy with some other guy

the thing w/Dawson is, he's trying to force the romance back into his relationship w/Joey. he's not letting it fall naturally the way it should. he's not moving forward (which he claims to be doing), he's trying to recreate past feelings and not letting new ones possibly be created. pacey isn't trying to be romantic and loving, he just is because that's truly how he feels about her.
I totally agree with you. I think Dawson and Joey were only meant to be best friends and to love each other in that way...as best friends. Not romantically. Like in the series finale, Jack tells Jen that they are soulmates, but they had never gotten together romantically before, or tried, but failed, lol. So, like them, Dawson and Joey are soulmates, but that doesn't mean they are meant to be together. And obviously, they could never really work it out. Pacey and Joey are True Love Forever!!

scene between Pacey and Joey on the dance floor is so powerful that it rivals their kiss in front of the fire earlier in the season; Dawson is being selfish but Joey is also being a little selfish to assume that they can just be "friends" and act like everything should be the way it was before

i was always a dawson joey lover because i believe in true love and friendship, but pacey and joey go way beyond that! they actually belong together, dawson should stay just a friend, for both of them but that's sometihng he's absolutely not to pacey, even though he says he is, dawson is really selfish in fact!

You know, i just realized that the scene with them dancing and Dawson sees, it's the first time he has seen them intimate at all. I mean, he broke them up before they could do anything else and this must be a big blow to him to see Joey so affected by Pacey. Hehe.

I remember watching this show and not really getting the whole Dawson/Joey thing...and then when Pacey came into the picture, it just made it painful to watch D/J...Joey always looked soo bored and unhappy in their scenes and Dawson was just kinda pathetic...but maybe that's just me.

altough Dawson is Joey's best friend I think Pacey knows her better it seems like he loves her so much he pays attention to every single detail that has to do with her and unlike Dawson later on he proves to truly loves her when he tells her he will step aside and still be her friend as long as she is happy even if it means she is happy with some other guy

the thing w/Dawson is, he's trying to force the romance back into his relationship w/Joey. he's not letting it fall naturally the way it should. he's not moving forward (which he claims to be doing), he's trying to recreate past feelings and not letting new ones possibly be created. pacey isn't trying to be romantic and loving, he just is because that's truly how he feels about her.

I totally agree with you. I think Dawson and Joey were only meant to be best friends and to love each other in that way...as best friends. Not romantically. Like in the series finale, Jack tells Jen that they are soulmates, but they had never gotten together romantically before, or tried, but failed, lol. So, like them, Dawson and Joey are soulmates, but that doesn't mean they are meant to be together. And obviously, they could never really work it out. Pacey and Joey are True Love Forever!!
