Well since you won't aid us with your 'help,' I guess I'll have to do it.

For those of you who's game crashes at the start of disk 2 (when it loads the save file from disk 1), here's how you solve it; though it's going to require you buying PowerISO if you haven't already: open disk 2 (where you go to mount it), it'll bring up a new page. On the right of the new page, there should be 5 page files, 3 of which have spaces in the middle of their names. Rename these 3 files by erasing the space.

@heydude056 Then, rename the file name for disk 2 on the left side of the page (it doesn't matter what you rename it to). Save it and you're good to go. You'll apparently also have to do this with disk 3 and 4. Why you don't have to do it for disk 1 is beyond me.

If what I said was unclear or doesn't make any sense, then go to Pkingoodog11's page and look for his FF8 fix video (or you could punch in his name in the search bar and it's literally the first video that pops up).

Ok sorariku2002, I'm not able to play the 2nd disk either because it keeps crashing whenever I try to play it. Now, before you brush this off as some other comment-complaint that you have no idea how to solve, answer me this: is it possible that the reason it keeps crashing is because I'm using an unregistered version of PowerISO? In fact, are all you who can’t play the 2nd disk using an unregistered version of PowerISO too?

@Minato502 well u got to go to ur start menu and go to run where ever u put it thn type in regedit thn go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE thn scroll all the way down to Square soft, Inc thn open up final fantasy VII thn 1.00 thn u go to DataDrive by right clicking it and choose a cd drive and thn after all of dat go to where ever u put ur game file and mount ur game on the same cd drive

Hey I figured out how to get it to work on my laptop. This is how I got it to work: install the game and change the datadrive to whatever drive you are going to mount the disc file/iso to. After changing the datadrive, you have to go to Computer and select and right click the drive that you are going to use and select "mount image to drive" or something similar to that and then go and find the disc file and mount it on the drive. After that, run FF8 as administrator- it should work.

i got my game and everything to work fine, but the graphics are messed up for me, there are black boxes around most objects and there are lines across my screen, the movies run fine its just when you're walking around. When i go to config and click the graphics tab it says i passed all the requirements except for 8-bit paletted textures. Is this why they're messed up and is there a way i can fix this???

So... I help my friends with this... and I used daemon tools light because i'm more used to it.. anways... Wen't to regedit and changed datadrive to K: because that's where the daemon tools lite mounted the ISO... Ran the program as administartor and started the game... But It still says it's wrong disk.. and that confucses me because I can't possibly see what I did wrong!

hello :) umm... yesterday i downloaded the game and mounted it just like u showed in the video,i started the game yesterday at 1:20 AM and finished it today at 1:40AM. so when i finished the 1st disc i saved the game and all, after that they told me to insert the 2nd disc so i got out of the game and mounted the second disc but windows told me that the game has stoped working :( what do u think the problem is ? if anybody knows a solution to this plz tell me ASAP it would be much appreciated thx

sweet it works I had to mount mine to drive l: and run the data reader thing from L but it works so to the ppl that get a message saying wrong disc you have to make sure u mount the image in power ISO to the same drive that u made the regedit run on that is very important it confused me at first but know I got it. thx alot man I'm subscribing =)

Configure your graphics in the FF8Config. It should be in the folder where you installed the game.

Aight so you did everything I told you. You mounted the install disc, installed the game, then mounted disc 1, and then ran the game. I think I know you're problem. You need to configure your graphics. Go to the folder where you installed the game and look for the FF8Config Then go to the Graphics tab. Then make sure you choose Software renderer as your render. Also make sure you're not using a super crappy computer. Just because the game is old doesn't mean it'll handle crappy graphics card.
