keep pressing 3:45 :DDD nice one Paul! Great reporting by the way, the other day I defended a 13 year old guy that was getting pushed by a tram agent cause his friend did'nt have a ticket and the boy asked for a kinder treatment (and getting the opposite). If kids are delinquent it is because the mistakes of our society, treat them right and they'll have no reason to offend whatsoever
Prison system is big business not only for Unions and employing many people but Profits as well, cheap slave labor as well. It shows we Americans like hiding things under the rug then deal with it.
@Budvb Your comment is really ridiculous. How is prison system big business for unions? Unions do NOT have the power corporations do. CORPORATIONS are driving the prison industry. They privately invest in prisons. Prison corporation stocks are openly TRADED on the stock market. Did you know that?
@SandCmpbll I live in a Prison city i should know, but hey putting individuals into prison to work for less then a quarter an hour is good business for corporations too. I think we have a Moral Issue within us. End the War on the Drugs and would free up a lot more capital for others things like no income tax, and then you can donate that money to a non profit corporation that helps people.
Throwing more money at the greedy educrats, with their useless degree & bad attitudes, is not the answer. Education should be privatized. There's no way to fix it. Special ed is the biggest waste of money (besides the endless wars) that we have in this country. Over & over research shows that we are pissing our money away, but the educrat cartel continues to take billions each year for the pockets of their undereducated, mean-spirited staff.
i have learning disability's and behavior problems and a criminal record and am under 18 and i can tell you straight up this guy is so right ...i can judge in fact if you think you can be a better judge because your "better" than me your wrong and usually i dont ask to thumb up but i need the ignorant to know not to even bother arguing that this guy is 200% right
Aren't they just teaching the little kiddies to become good citizens? Just think of all the income they will bring the private corporate jails as the public purse pays to keep their kids locked up. That's a good, no? *blinks innocently*
Stop murdering children, their mothers and fathers in other countries and put that money toward better educational opportunities. Two birds with one giant stone.
The very idea of putting people in jail is ridiculously backwards to me.
If they were already a so called "burden" to society why make them an even larger burden by spending money on jail cells for them? Help them help themselves or make them do something usefull.
I agreed with many points that this man brought up ,except when he said that kids have not changed and I disagree with that ascertain. I do not teach but my sister does in NYC school system and I have worked in the inner city and in excellent neighborhoods in the city and the thing that stands out to me is that kide emulate the behavior they see around them and watch in all entertainment. They need stong guidence from home and that is the root of their problem which they then share with everyone
I happen to study American history at the moment and the sole reason why so many people (preferably black population) are incarcerated is simple: PROFIT
In the US the carceral system became heavily privatized ever since the Slavery/Crowe movement times and inmates serve as profitable "recource". Also the security measures in US hyper ghettos are part of this endless chain of corruption.
I'm just so glad I don't have to live in the fascist empire USA.
I teach in Juvenile halls/camps. Because of petty crimes, 99% of the locked up kids are Black or Hispanic. The White kids are given probation. America has a "Prison Industrial Complex". Prisoners are making products in the prisons. These products are sold cheaply to the public. Prisoners are paid $1 a day. The prisons need younger prisoners. Many of the judges are partners with the prisons and juvenile halls. Judges are paid kickbacks to lock up kids. Jews run the prison industrial complex.
Incarceration is a multi-million dollar industry in the U.S. Prisons are good for the economy. Is it any wonder why U.S.A. Inc. wants to get as many people on the road to long term incarceration as they can?
Another domestic problem, perhaps if we didn't spend trillions and trillions of dollars on foreign policy and troublesome alliances (or what Washington called "entangling alliances") , then maybe we could better focus on the needs of our country, our people. Isn't that what the peoples' government was suppose to be doing all along. What a treasonous farce!
I have mixed opinions on this. I'm not white, and I went to a school that was semi-diverse, yet still predominantly white. I feel that my education was completely ruined by kids who constantly misbehaved during class. These kids were a complete drain and needed to be removed. Not only are most of these kinds of students disrespectful to adults, they actually bully and intimidate their peers who want to learn.
Why should a bright minority student be dragged down by his/her unruly peers?
@HyrbidHermit I saw that problem when I was in school, but the way to deal with that is the same way that Japan did is by grade system move them together in place with different class. It like taking the idea of AP class to a much higher level.
techie comment -- when filling out form associated with video you need to have a file name that means something instead of leaving it the computer's random file name. Minor point but reading blubow0801pt1 HD1080 instead of "Why Are Kids in Jail? causes me to hit delete. You have good videos but you need to set up the videos to gain interest. The only kids in jails are non government kids, same for the revolving justice system . The govt also uses tax moneys for their kids free scholarships, and free medical , free dental. . So govt kids can be parole officers , politicians , prison administration workers, prosecutors, lawyers , judges , etc etc . All courts are full of non government kids only , thats a fact and thats the problem !
No, locking children up, with at times more hardened children, only allows them to learn diffrent avenues they would have never even known of!
I have known kids who went to juvy for accidents, others for family issues. Know 2 decades later, every one of them, that went for accidents, or even just mild rule breaking, has went back to serve longer actual jail and prison terms.
When they take the easy route, and throw them in a cage, you cant be surprised when they come out even more troubled.
@swankrecords now theres a few trillion a year, that could've gone into schools, now england isnt even bothering with fixing the national curriculum cuz its so broken, they might have well have said "have some free schools insteed of a working, comprehensible curriculum, kuz we cant be bothered to aware jobs, so well make damn sure u dont get one either"

This was a great program, I hope folks were able to understand the juvenile justice system in this country, and how unfair it is to our kids.

The problem is that these 15-16 year olds dont really behave like kids when it comes to crime. They might very well be violent.
