@chriscarter17 I understand the skepticism but you don't have to use SBI! to build your site. You can use a cheap host. Both of my sites make enough money and I've been self employed since 2006. You can do it with our without SBI!. If you want to save money just go to GoDaddy and build a site the cheap way. Both of my sites are doing well. Just depends on if you want to pay to learn the ropes or not. It's up to you. Both ways are a lot of work if you want serious money.

I think SBI offers some good overall education for its users, but I decided to try it and must say that it's a very confusing set of tools with no clear road map as to how to get from "idea" to "website." I'd strongly suggest that you really take a look at their action guide here and watch the videos and read the articles BEFORE making a decision. I even checked the forums & multiple users were having the same confusion as me. I'm sure it's a good tool IF you understand it. Lisa, love your vids!

I'm sorry, but Site Build It might not be a scam, but it's a terrible website. All it's doing is inspiring more spam websites. It's a get-rich-quick scheme type service that puts crappy websites on the internet. I checked the demo, there websites look like they were built in 1994 and I wouldn't spend 300 dollars a year on that crap. Sorry.

@WebDevFTW Had to laugh @ the 1994 comment. You can use your own software or code from scratch as I did. Thank goodness they have newer templates now. But I beg to differ about get-rich-quick. Ken Evoy actually teaches the exact OPPOSITE in the action guide so I'm not sure where that came from. Several of my friends now also own SBI! sites and my friend's site on homeschooling help actually helps supplement her family income quite well. Her site is far from get rich quick.

Then the people who buy it seem to promote it so much I can't help but wonder if they're actually promoting SBI more than their own websites. Is it an act of desperation or is it really that good? Most of these website look very amateurish and not very professional.

What makes SBI! so different than anything out here is that they understand that making money online is more than just about setting up a WordPress blog. WordPress is easy and the templates look great, but most people struggle at making money because you don't just put up a website and the money rolls in. SBI! provides the marketing training that no other system I know provides.

Actually, SBI is $299 a year or $29.99 a month-the same price it's been since I started in 2006. Started from scratch with no web skills - worked on it intermittently, thought I'd be lucky to make $300 a month on it since it's a site about making things yourself. But it's over $600 a month now, and most of that is passive income (I only work on it about two hours a week-mostly emails). More dedicated people who have sites with higher end products make quite a bit more.

Everyone is jumping on the blog bandwagon but my static SBI! site is now almost 6 years old, I haven't updated much in the last 3 years yet the traffic is now up to 15,000 visitors per day and it's all passive income. You couldn't get those kinds of results with a blog you barely updated. Of course my site's age plays a role but I have a friend with a newer SBI! site and has had the same results.

Depends on what their goals are for the site. Do they need help with natural search engine rankings (better google listings) and marketing in general? Are they looking for instant traffic? That's not what SBI! is about. It's the total tortoise approach that teaches you how to build traffic through good content.

If you just judge SBI! by the price I can understand why anyone would be turned off. However, many people value having the CAPTCHA form builders, autoresponders, mailing list managers, brainstorm it tools, contact-form builders, and all the other techy things a lot of newbies do not want to deal with. If you want to create these things on your own, then by all means go to a $5 host. SBI! is merely an option for people who want to eliminate the techy tasks. Trust me... a lot of people do.

Yes it's $299 per site. I know of a few people with 6 or 7 SBI! sites but they built the first one FIRST and waited to make a profit on that one before building the others. I always think it's a very bad idea to start multiple websites when you're new. You should always do one at a time and wait for that to make money before starting others. Trust me. I learned the hard way

Meh! You don't need to use this stuff, its way over priced and there are other options out there that are FREE!!! Stuff like Squidoo and Hubpages which I use with much success and is easy to learn. So my advice is keep away from it!!

Squidoo, hubpages are GREAT for many and for some that's all you need. Seems to have worked for you and that's super. However some people need more hand-holding and step by step tutorials. Not to mention, squidoo and hubpages don't give you access to a newsletter manager, autoresponder and all the help on traffic and earning money. Can you do it without SBI!? Of course you can. But it's a great options for many. But I respect your opinion.

It's not all about SBI!. Yes, the tool provides outstanding guidance but YOU also have to do your part and get creative and market your site. It's not just in SBI!'s hands. The guidance is excellent but how well you do depends on your efforts. I made my money back in 3 months.

I started back in 05 with SBI. I didnt quite make it with the program but I did learn alot about site content, how to research keywords, and that running a website takes work. Sorry it didn't work for you. Perhaps we have different definitions of "scam". A scam is when a company sells you something and they don't give you what you paid for. SBI! is a system of tools that teaches you how to build a site and make money. I got my investment back in 3 months. I don't think it's fair to call a product a scam just because it doesn't work for you. I've tried other systems that failed but I don't call them scams because I didn't make any money.

Actually, I've checked out more SBI-built sites now, and talked to a few people who use it. Seems like a kick ass product. I might get it myself if time allows me to work on a site I think it could be well suited for (For now I have enough on my hands already).

In any instance, people who get SBI seem pretty darn happy with it.

That's because most people use the standard templates that are provided. Me personally, I designed my own site in Dreamweaver and it doesn't look like the average SBI! site. You don't have to use the standard templates but most people do because it's easier.
