  • Daniel Craig s a beast. The most bad ass Bond since Dalton.

  • Gotta feel bad for the actor who plays the guy in the bathroom, his only role in the film was to get his ass handed to him in the first 4 minutes.

  • Why is Prague monochrome? Is it like Yorkshire...all Rainbows in Black and White and half-witted skinhead natives?

  • People who say Daniel Craig is better then Sean Connery often forget or just have not seen the very awesome train fight scene betweem James Bond (Sean Connery) and Red Grant (Robert Shaw) in the film From Russia With Love. Still after so many years, the fight scene is very raw and brutal! Blood include! If you have not seen it, check it out, then make a statement! Sean Connery was and forever will be the best James Bond, hands down. Even though Daniel Craig did a great job too!

  • Why the hell was this film rated a 12? abit violent and extreme and there is a scene of torture in it

  • i just love how they work the gunbarrel shot into the kill :D

  • Is it just me, or does Daniel Craig just exude sexiness?

  • This is why Bond is awesome. Shows both sides of him. The brutal hard as nails killer. And the stone cold, super cool assassin.

Bourne is no where near as interesting. He's just a gary stu who has cool kung fu moves.

  • @oldirrtydoogz I don't think its fair to compare them both. Bourne is an empty assassin that kills without blinking and goes on about his day. The story with Bourne isn't what he is doing now, its him trying to remember what he did.

  • @dwcai81 Yeah but as good as the bourne series is, Bourne just comes across as a whiny self hating bitch. Bonds just a ruthless fucker that looks good while doing it and gts laid to boot. PLus like I said who would you rather go on the lash with? at least you can go out on the pull with Bond.

  • This scene could have come straight out of one of Fleming's novels. Seriously something like this is EXACTLY what Bond is capable of doing. Craig and Dalton are the only Bond actors I could see doing this. That's why IMHO they are the best. They play Bond as Fleming meant him to be.

  • @OldFireStick You're so right. Dalton and Craig are the best and darkest of all the Bonds, and are also the most human :) They're not invincible, if you know what I mean.

  • Anyone notice what the elevator floor was about to turn to? 0:52

  • This soundtrack sucks. I miss John Barry's score.

  • "How did he die?" "Not well" what Family Guy episode is that from!?! or is it American Dad?

  • @bchokola

They once did a bit on Robot Chicken. It was a christmas special where they opened with Santa Claus confronting a naughty child the same way Bond confronts this guy. And then it cuts to Santa fighting the child's mother like the struggle in the bathroom.

  • @frankcastle17 YES!! That was it man. Thanks Frankcastle!

  • definitely the best bond opening.

  • too bad the american dvd/blu ray version of this is edited differently

  • what does he means when he says, yes considerably?

  • Comment removed

  • @trams33 They are talking about Bonds lack of 00 status (need 2 kills for that) and Bond getting his 1st kill in that bathroom. What he was most likely about to say is: "the second is...(going to be easier)" when Bond shoots him and replies: "yes, considerably".

  • @SF78 yeah i realized that after i wrote that comment haha

  • @ForgotEnglish when the other guy asks, "Made you feel it, did he?".

  • @ForgotEnglish the other guy is about to say "don't worry, the 2nd kill is much easier" then Bond shoots him, but he still replies saying "yes, considerably"

  • I grew up on Sean Connery as Bond and Daniel Craig is the first Bond since Connery to display the required degree of mongrel that ought to be in this character ... he is a rough diamond and always was .... Craig has brought the grit and darkness back to 007 ... long may it remain so as everything that came between Connery and Craig has been twee by comparison.

  • Put Casino Royale intro/opening extended cut with deleted footage into the search box or go to watch?v=HNvzNWuzI9Y&feature=related for an alternative longer opening.

  • "bent" LOL those British terms...

  • i use to hate james bond untill daniel craig, i remeber seeing the start of the trailer and my mate leane dover to em and said oh this is the new james bond movie and in my head i was like oh fuck really?, then watched the traielr and was like that looks fucking awesome

  • Anyone else notice the same initials? James Bond, Jason Bourne, Jack Bauer. All the best agents have the same initials. Coincidence? I think not.

  • @Gamified ....justin beiber...oh god!

  • Jack Bauer and James Bond both rock.

  • @soldiergirl84 and Jason Bourne... hmmm... J. B. named characters... I think there's something there.

  • This is the toughest Bond ever !! ..... I love it !!

  • Bond is sitting in the dark haha. the best opening scene to the bond franchise !

  • the fight scene was one of the best and most reasltic of any bond film craig gives bond a real edge and its a flashblack thats why its in black nd white

  • One viewing of this scene and you just know that Bond could kill Bourne all kinds of dead... XD

  • Best Opening Bond Scene Ever... the fact it's in black and white gives it this classic film feel. Which it is. :D

  • the opening scene is as good as the ending scene

  • Roger Moore was an awful Bond.

  • @taxmonkey123, yeah, he was

  • I agree. I saw my first Bond movie when I was 6, and that was A View To A Kill. Then I thought that Roger Moore was the best Bond ever. 2 years later, I changed my mind. Roger Moore was bad.

  • why did it show a picture of the dudes family when he got shot? Is he like family or something

  • "yes.......considerably.!.."....best line ever------craig is the man,,,,,better than connery......if thats possible.

  • @rocketman6464 it isnt

  • @rocketman6464 i never thought that would happen but I think you might be right. With one movie. ONE MOVIE he brought about this worthwhile debate. Unreal.

  • what song was that in the end

  • Casino Royale soundtrack: You Know My Name by Chris Cornell

  • thanks

  • 2:13 after he says, I know where you keep your gun, what does he say after that?

  • "so thats something"

meaning he knows something about him when he goes we barely know each other...

  • Oh! Thank you very much. That was bugging the hell out of me.

  • Why does he say considerably??

  • I THINK ITS A BRITISH HUMOR THING...

  • may guess was that the man was going to say that the second kill is easier or words to that effect. hence for james bond, his second kill was 'considerably' easier

  • yeah, well...why would he say such thing about himself, well the fact that he is an easy kill? i think he was going to say something like "a little tougher" who knows, before he could end he was killed and that way...emm...ok you guys get my point right?

  • Nah, he ment that the second kill would be easier for James Bond. The first time you kill a person you may get the shakes, but after that, it becomes easier to do. He didn't mean he was an easy target...

  • right!!! nice one

  • cus the guy was going to say the "second is easier' or something. the second kill isnt as hard to do. he just finished the sentence

  • Does anybody know what fighting style daniel craig used for this?

  • Good old fashioned brawling, I guess, mixed with some various martial arts movements.

  • That's all James Bond needs.

  • Modern day MMA.

  • A beautiful new introduction to Bond. Hard, raw and violent. It was needed after the softer approach.

  • Yes this is truely a scene of utter pwnage.

  • 3.30 = GENIUS!

  • Bond is the shit and no one else even comes close. Period.

  • Bond can kick Bourne's arse any day!!!

  • he can't kick jack bauer's ass

  • I assure you. Bond has a much larger Body-count. And his wrist-watch can cure Cancer.

YOU CANNOT FIGHT THE WRIST-WATCH OF POWER.

  • Never saw THAT Omega watch O_o

  • @bigjamesbondfan Agree!!

  • @bigjamesbondfan

    NEVER ... Bourne > Bond

  • @kasperle1338

Bond is the original spy novel spy. Bourne was inspired by Bond and is an unflawed Gary Sue.

    Bourne > Bond.

  • @bigjamesbondfan Totally agree. Besides which Jason Bourne is just a self hating whiny bitch. At least you could go out on the pull with James Bond as well haha.

  • I will give you points for good spelling, which is a godsend on this site. As for your comment, I don't really troll anymore, what is there to be bitter about?

  • You really don't get the number one rule of trolling do you?

  • Best scene in the whole movie.

  • When I was in the theaters and saw the gunbarrel scene I said "BADASS!"

  • When the alien scene in Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull rolled around I heard someone yell: THIS IS WHAT SCIENTOLOGISTS ACTUALLY BELIEVE! Laughed my ass off.

  • "Your file shows no kills. It takes..."

    - "Two"

  • James Bond is the master of hunting people down.

Bourne is the master of escape.

it would go on until one of them dies of natural causes.

  • Bond would pull some stunt in the end involving a woman and Bourne would just shoot him. Bond may be classy, but Bourne is a killer.

  • I disagree and I'm sticking with my earlier comment.

  • such an awsome opening scene..i love the black and white

  • What a sick opening.

  • wasnt much of a fight, bond just raped him. i would wanna see him fight jason bourne

  • Nah, the Bourne cinematographer wouldn't allow you to see what's happening without the use of frame-by-frame, anyway.

  • I've never seen the movie, was this seen really in black/white?

  • No only the sequence before the opening credits.

  • yeah. just how it starts out (back when Bond wasn't 007 yet). starts out in black and white then credits kick in. then we get color.

  • That's what he meant, he just misspelled "scene".

  • What about Dalton? I thought he was was close to Fleming's version as well. No-nonsense.

  • Dalton was pretty good too..but i still prefer Craig :)

  • So do I. However, I thought QOS was absolutely without a doubt one of the worst of the Bond frncise period. Despicable.

  • i wouldn't go that far..i believe the problem of QOS is that it had too much action and it should have had more dialogue..i think marc forster failed in that matter..oh and i can't even compare eva green's acting (vesper) with olga kurylienko's

  • Yeah, it like might as well have no story for how pointless that one was...Casino Royale was amazing though

  • easily the best movie intro in many years, very cool to watch :D

  • I must say Dryden's arrogance was astounding. He glibly figures at first that since Bond is not a 00, he is not there to kill him. Only after does he finally realize that Bond is there to EARN 00 status by killing him and his contact... *snicker*

  • Whos the guy he kills?

  • The man in the apartment was MI6 Section Chief Dryden. He was found to have been selling MI6 secrets, presumably to terrorists.

The man in the bathroom was his contact. To earn his 00 stripes, Bond was ordered by M to pass the both of them out.

  • I see.

  • Now before I bring the wrath of all Connery-Bond lovers on my head, let me me clear: Connery was good. Really good. So were Dalton and Brosnan. But they did not have it down 100%. Craig does.

  • I like Connery, Dalton is ok, however Craig is very good at this role.

  • Craig is more like Fleming intended the character to be - cold blooded, a ruthless assassin. The Connery & Moore films, esp Moore, allowed the characted to become too goofy. With this & Quantum, I think that Wilson & Broccoli are both trying to restore the character to the novelizations. Good idea too, the series really needed a re-envisioning.

  • Ya after Peirce Brosnan.... the franchise definitly needed a re tooling

  • "The names Bond, James Bond." Man you gotta love that line.

  • never take a shit without checking the toilets for bond

  • Craig is THE Bond that Ian Fleming had in mind. Those who bitch about lack of humor, suaveness and gadgets have obviously never read Fleming's novels. I would suggest they do and learn what Bond is REALLY supposed to be: A BLUNT INSTRUMENT. Craig's Bond is just that: as blunt and deadly as you can get. If I were a Bond villain I'd be more scared of him than any of the others

  • "You needn't worry. The second is-"

    Thew!

    "Yes. Considerably."

  • did he mean to say "the second is easier" before he got shot? it confused me when i saw it in the cinema and i didnt get it the second time i saw it on dvd... someone plz explain so i can fully appreciate the awesomeness of this scene.

  • I think you're right about the 'the second is easier'...

  • me too, the "yes, considerably" part is response to "Made you feel it, did he?"

  • no its a reply to:

''You needn't worry. The Second is - (Easier)''

  • yup, but also Bond knows his job much more fully by that point - Dryden's a traitor & needs to be eliminated b/f he can cause the agency more ruin.

  • the second is... *bang*

    yes, considerably.

  • how did he die?

    your contact? not well

    amazing

  • it's "in a well." the joke is that he died ina sink

  • he says "not well" i assure you

  • yeah bro, its "not well"

  • james bond is has the best movie fight scenes

  • I know where you keep your gun...

  • I guess that's something...

Always LOVED Bond's poker face in this scene, I don't think he even blinks.

  • This, QoS, and the Connery bonds (also the Dalton ones to some extent) are basically my personal Bond canon. I just pretend Brosnan didn't happen.

  • How have you already seen the movie?

  • ESP.

  • i have to say, he's right.

  • i love this scene the black and white works so well

  • The fun is just now starting. Daniel Craig is what Bond should have been all along.

  • I know we're not supposed to, but I actually felt sorry for that bad guy in the bathroom...Bond really F-ed him up!!

  • He tried to drown him in a bathroom sink, priceless!

  • Yes, because secret agents are all about petting puppies and handing out candy to orphans.

James Bond is a freakin' killer. That's what he's paid to do. Ian Fleming's original version of the character wouldn't have thought twice about doing what Bond does here...

  • go back to watching sesame street then

  • Lets see:

Dr. No is Boiled to death.

    Ross Kananga is blown up.

Hugo Drax is shot with a poison dart and shoved into space.

Alec Trevalian falls from a satilite, whitch in return falls on him.

Elliot Carver is drilled by a super drill/Torpedo.

And you think THIS is too violent?! Come off it!

  • You forgot when Franz Sanchez was drenched in gasoline and Bond took a lighter to him.

  • True! But i didn't care for Lisence To Kill, so i try to repress that movie from my mind...

  • Much agreed MrSinister1979

  • so bond is suppose to give out hugs an kisses to every bad he sees...go watch sex and the city or sumtin softy

  • To those whining about the lack of gadgets, newsflash: THAT WAS NOT FLEMING'S VISION OF THE CHARACTER. Have you ever read any of the books? I mean the ones by Fleming, not the authors that took over after his death. How many fancy gadgets did you see? The "gadgety" Bond is in fact a BETRAYAL of Fleming's vision. The worst offender was "Die Another Day." The "REAL" Bond can be seen in this movie "Casino Royale", and also in Timothy Dalton's outings. This is why I consider Dalton one of the best.

  • I totally agree...too many people are hung up on the light-hearted, comedic Roger Moore flicks...I love how Bond here is portrayed as the assassin that Ian Fleming originally had conjured his famous character

  • At least Van Damme has humour...

  • What about Connery?

  • Connery set the standard... before Craig. Seriously. Bond was envisioned by Fleming as a "blunt instrument". Connery's Bond was too slick and suave. Craig's however, is perfect.

  • he is talking about how the second kill is going to be easier for bond. He cuts him off (shooting him) and says yes, considerably

  • im kind of young so i dont get what bond says "consideribly" about please someone respond!!!!!

  • ..the traitor was about to say that Bond second kill would "...be considerably easier than the first." And it was! 007 simply shoots the dude which was a lot less effort than the first target, that thug he fought in the men's room. any help?

  • yes thank you so much i finally get it!

  • One of the best opening scenes ever. It's so gritty and real.

  • Whats bond doing from 2:30-2:31??

    Humpity Hump.

  • Ace opning scene and stop argueing and enjoy the movie

  • I thought this was an awsome opening scene, it shows the audience that this one is a bit more gritty and realistic than the playboy-carchase-shootout ones.

  • this is the bond from the books.

  • I just love the line Dryden makes a little before 007 kills him:

"Made you feel it did he?"

Just such a cool line, that's such a throwback to those spy movies of the 50s.

  • Even better is the cut to Bond the next moment, poker-faced, and the little fluctuation in the music ... you just think, "no, he didn't."

  • It's about time the Bond series puts the liscense to kill to fucking use. I have never been excited by a Bond movie before, but I actually kind of want to see this one.

  • That's more like it. Bond was always supposed to be a brutal, horrible bastard. Well done Mr. Craig. After years of being bored of these films at Christmas I find myself waiting in anticipation of the next installment. One of the best theme songs too... second only to Tom Jones' "Thunderball"!

  • The BEST Bond-film ever made. At least currently. Craig is such a good actor. He plays his role just like he should: his Bond is deadly, sinister and tough asa coffin nail. And the brutality if this film was astounishing. Yeahhh...

  • jason bourne is STUPIDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD all thos movies werent so famous drrrrrrrrrrrr

  • weren't so famous? well for one, they are just based off of the books that ludlem wrote, which bond movies aren't made off of books, so bond and bourne movies shouldn't be compared to one another. and the bourne movies were HUGE in America, got the best box office hits when supremacy and ultimatum came out.

  • no fewer than fifteen bond movies have been based off of ian fleming's novels and short stories

    including this one

  • bond movies are made off books you retard search the name ian fleming on google you matt damon suck-up

  • o..k..

  • you'd think people would at least do some research, instead of talking out of their ass. they're comparable in that they're both agent movies based off of books. I far prefer the Bond movies, but that being said, the fight scenes in the Bourne movies I think are some of the best fight scenes to come out of America.

  • The titles were taken from the Ludlum novels, but the stories were nothing at all alike.

  • Perfect pokerface at 3:11 - Craig's a damn fine actor.

  • who says movie fights aren't realistic? This fight is as "real" a fight as I have ever seen in a movie. If there is bad blood man, it really can get this nasty, especially against a bully.

  • James Bond: Quantum of Solace release date October 31 in the UK. I hope to put more 007 clips on youtube from the 22th bond movie.

  • Daniel craig kicks brosnan's pussy ass

  • Yes, But Bourne movies suck...none of them are good, considere that the bathroom fight scene IS the most violent, and realistic of any other Bond movie....

  • LOL BOURNE MOVIES SUCK????? yeah ok guy. they are far more realistic than any of the james bond gadget using movies. i'm not saying that the bond movies suck, i'm just saying that the bourne movies are more realistic. and yes, bourne could kick bonds ass in close quarter combat. he would have killed that dude in the bathroom in 3 seconds.

  • jason bournes a pussey

  • how is he a pussy? atleast he doesn't need gadgets to get him out of situations, like bond does.
