Years ago i had the 2.3 diesel version as a cheap run around but these cars really are bits of shit and one of the worst rot boxes Ford ever produced. I actually sold mine taxed and mot;d for £75 and a large doner kebab( with extra chilli sauce iirc)

Your forgetting distance this Sierra reached 206 in 1.4 miles on a wet day. A Veyron would manage that but no other normal production car would. An Enzo would get nowhere near that speed in the dry in that distance.

The Sierra recorded 0-180mph in 17.8secs & 0-200 in 24.5secs.

It doesn't move like a snail... it's an economy car tuned to hit 200+ mph. Acceleration isn't everything. Another thing about a small turbo engine, there's a lot of turbo lag when pushing that much boost. Yeah, Lamboghini's weigh more, have less power, accelerate quicker, and hit a similar top speed, but they're also big engine's that aren't turbo'd out of their ass. Before that turbo spools up, the engine's probably making 180 hp maybe 200. We'll even say 300. THAT's not gonna get you to 200mph

The engine in this car is a Cosworth YB the engine as used in the Sierra & Escort Cosworth road cars. Its Dynoed at 838bhp with 666ft-lb torque & then hit with a 200shot of Nitrous, it was just a baby when this video was taken around 5 years ago.

It has TKO600 box & Jaguar Diff.

Geared now to reach 219mph it will run this year & its hoped to reach 215mph in the 1.5miles.

0-180mph in 17.8 would eat a production R1 & it would still be acclerating hard at that point.
