The fact is that scientology is no more stupid than all the other religions out there. Face it people- this is 2001. There are no gods. We no longer need fairy tales.
When Scientology is compared with all other religions, the point is missed. Scientology engages in acts of forced abortions, human trafficking, long hours of labor for low pay, forced separation of families, and litigation of critics through frivolous lawsuits. It is designed in such a way that members are repeatedly asked for money to the point where they lose their life savings. None of the mainstay religions is comparable to the cult of Scientology's abuses.
A major award for Cruise because, as we all know, and his Scientologist brethren know, he has never received a major honor from his peers in Hollywood
--now, he feels validated. Yet, Cruise has only brought MONEY to this organization through those who want to latch on to this association (with Cruise). Small price to pay for the organization. Cruise looks like the ultimate fool, yet, in his own controlled mind, he is all-powerful! Ha! Mind control!
After you read those sites, ask me again why Scientology is bad. People who abuse the law to their advantage are also going "by the book". Scientology ruined Paulette Cooper's life "by the book" by forcing her to spend time and money in court. Scientology hires private investigators to terrorize critics (which is by the book). Scientology knows how to exploit the legal loopholes 'by the book'
It must be nice to be an authority(or a Cartman would say "an authoritaay) like Tom.It's funny because the audience even stands, applauds and sits as one.Just like robots.
An atheist will probably say that God doesn't exist, and so there is no God to interfere.
A Christian would probably say that this is part of God's ultimate plan, that he works in mysterious ways, and wants to unravel this evil right.
A Scientologist would probably say that furthering Scientology is God's intention (in Scientology, "God" is their "8th dynamic" even though they are vague about it).
@AnonymousImpact im an atheist and i would not say that. i would not claim any knowledge that he doesnt exist. i dont beleive in Santa either but its scientifically impossible to prove the nonexistence of anything so i would not claim to have knowledge Santa does not exist either. i can assess that the probability is extremely low however.
what i would actually say is merely "prove he does exist" to anyone who claimed to have knowledge of it's existance
According to the agreement reached with the IRS, the IRS is contractually required to discriminate in their treatment of Scientology to the exclusion of all other groups. In other words, the Church of Scientology won a special right to claim tax deductions that, Judge Barry Silverman opined in 2002, "are contrary to law and rightly disallowed to everybody else."
Scientology cites its tax exemption as proof the United States government accepts it as a religion.
thx for the explaination. the IRS is at fault here, the govt cant just giv in when threatened. lol isnt there another govt ministry( Eg. internal affairs or anti-corruption bureau etc) to stop these kind of things frm happening?! i mean, for example, tis ministry can punish the IRS officials if they really did do smth wrg in their lives and also nt allow the church of sci to have the status.
Yeah, that's what we've been trying to do for the past two years. I knew Scientology was sinister for years, and have joined the Anonymous emergence that began in January 2008. I have joined the global monthly protests. whyweprotest(.)net is an Anonymous site, where people present ideas. If a good idea arises, people act on it. So far, none of the ideas to raise awareness about Scientology tax exemption have worked.
We still raise awareness, though.. anything to hurt the cult.
At that point, the IRS recognized Scientology as a "non-profit charitable organization," and gave it the same legal protections and favorable tax treatment extended to other non-profit charitable organizations. The New York Times reported that Scientologists blackmailed the IRS into submission by using private investigators to obtain compromising material on the IRS commissioner.
The case was eventually settled in 1993, after the church paid $12.5 million, a fraction what the IRS had been claiming to cover more than 30 years of church operation including interest.
In 1967, the IRS stripped all United States-based Scientology entities of their tax exemption, declaring Scientology's activities were commercial and operated for the benefit of L. Ron Hubbard. The church sued and lost repeatedly for 26 years trying to regain its tax-exempt status.
The Church of Scientology adopted a "hardball" campaign vs the IRS during the 1980s and early 1990s, which exerted maximum pressure vs the IRS. None of the following is disputed by Scientology officials and some of it was boasted about by David Miscavige in his October 1993 speech:
- The IRS and its individual officers were sued for $128m.
- 2,500 lawsuits were launched vs the IRS.
- Private detectives were employed to find out what "crimes" IRS officials were guilty of in their private lives.
p666666, everything I'm telling you right now, I had to dig up on the internet myself, so please don't take my word on everything I say.
I have come to the conclusion that the Church of Scientology is the most corrupt system in the world and has to be stopped. People have the right to believe what they want, so my issue is not about their beliefs. My issue is about the corruption of Scientology's management, and a major goal of ours is to have the US revoke their tax exempt status.
I'll try. Tax exempt status just means they don't have to pay taxes the same way businesses are taxed based on their income. The Church of Scientology has convinced the IRS (possibly through blackmail) that Scientology qualifies as a non-profit organization so they should not have to pay taxes. This will take a few comments, but I'll elaborate on how it was done.
Kaja Ballo (you can google her if you like) was a depressed girl in Norway who decided to take a personality test. When she scored horribly (everybody scores bad - the test is rigged to fail), she committed suicide.
This is one of the many reasons why I protest the Church of Scientology. People around the world have been involved in global monthly protests because the world isn't paying enough attention to how despicable the management of this organization is.
To answer your question, it is the people who join Scientology that end up excommunicating their friends and family. You see, they have a policy called Disconnection ... if their management discovers that they are connected to a person critical of Scientology, they are pressured to "disconnect" from them. Some mothers haven't seen their children in over 30 years because of that, and of course, if they leave Scientology, all their friends/family still in will disconnect from them.
It is a common misconception to believe people join Scientology because of the doctrine of Xenu. People actually come to Scientology hoping for increased intelligence, improved personality, and help in dealing with personal problems (as it advertises itself as a self-help philosophy). Later, if they had paid enough, they learn a system of beliefs based on science fiction stories, infestations of alien spirits and exploding volcanos.
One would think so, wouldn't they? But as one ex-Scientologist said (ToryMago44 on YouTube), it is a slow train of mind control, and by the time the story of Xenu is revealed to them, they had already invested many hours of their time into Scientology. They would have already convinced themselves Scientology is the only hope for mankind, and they would be surrounded by only other Scientologists, kept in due to the social aspect. If they dared leave, they would lose friends/family.
Not necessarily. The Church of Scientology doesn't care who they recruit (hey, people = money), but they LOVE recruiting emotionally vulnerable people and celebrities. Like the true scam that they are, they ask for more and more "donations" from the person, promising that something wonderful is about to happen soon based on that person's donation, and they re-release material as "restored literature" in order to get people to buy their books all over again.
The people that are most likely to go to them are the emotionally vulnerable, I think. Scientology usually recruits through stress tests and personality tests. This personality test consists of a hundred questions or so, and regardless of the result, Scientology tells them they are a truly messed up individual and only Scientology can help. In some of the extreme instances, they even said that if they don't take Scientology, they will kill themselves later in life.
Why are they legal? That's a question myself and many other critics have been asking ourselves repeatedly. It's a combination of things, I think. Scare tactics, and a strong legal team. Did you know that their tax exempt status was revoked in the US for a time, but it was given back to them in 1993. Scientology filed 2,500 lawsuits against the IRS, and even had private investigators dig up dirt on IRS officials. It was essentially "blackmail" that got them what they wanted.
wow thats real helpful to the victims of scientology. hey you have been conned so go kill yourself. the leaders are the ones who need to be kicked in the ass. not the followers. the followers are usually child trauma survivors and people with ptsd
