Gotta give credit where it's due... these guys wrote a badass song. This version sounds good but it seems a little cheeky. I think Joan Jett really made it raunchier, heavier, and more "rock-n-roll", which is probably why it blew up and became the eternal rock anthem.
@yabadabaflabaraba , No, Joan Jett's became a hit because her label promoted it. Full stop. In 1975 when it was relased Arrows label RAK hated the band and didn't even get the record radio play or in shops.
Don't forget Joan Jett even released a failed unpromoted version in 1979. Her big corporate Boardwalk records version in 1982 went to #1. It's all in the push and promotion. Don't be so naive to think it's just about the music.

Love it, this song is a classic piece of rock'n'roll. Love Joan Jett's version as well, and it stays very close to the original.
