@Lebeauize You know what? I thought the exact same thing. Both movies are very similar in every way too. In both films, we cheer for both the cop and the robber. I only wish Deep and Bale had more of a scene together and I also wished that they had a better bulid up to it like Mann did with Pacino and Deniro. But I was still happy to see them together at last.

Dark Knight: Joker and Batman (Bale) in the interrogation room.

Terminator 4: John Connor (Bale) and Marcus Wright in a containment room.

Only to 'uhgree' with livefed and diluvhorses below: I also loved 3:10 to Yuma, it became a Bale movie (originally to be a Crowe movie...), and I think Bale is that kind of actor you long to see in horse dosage whenever you can. I was kind of disappointed with P. Enemies; Dark Knight I think was ok (Batman is not a commom hero, he´s a lot human: Bale could have appeared a lot more, showing his incredible talent, versatility in Batman´s personality nuances).I keep wating for another Bale movie!

I hope this movie is a good one. I like Depp and Bale, and I like Michael Mann's movies, even Miami Vice, which a lot of people seem to hate. I didn't quite like Collateral, which a lot of people seem to love. But I did like such Mann movies as Heat, and Thief.

I know right? There have been some good entries in the genre lately like The Departed, American Gangster, Layer Cake & Infernal Affairs but (with the exception of Road to Perdition) nothing as good as Godfather, Scarface, Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Heat, etc.
