You sure this isn't Graham singing lead on this one? He didn't do it as much as Allan, and may not have been used to it at the time. His voice is also lighter, because he sang on the breath while Allan belted.
Sorry, IAAN, but Allan is singing lead with Graham singing harmony. :) I love it when Allan sings softly, his voice is just beautiful. He and Graham were a wonderful vocal combo.
It's me that must ask forgiveness, my dear. I don't mean to come across as if I'm 'defending' Graham. They blend together so well! Wish they'd sing together at Glastonbury or Manchester this year.... *S*
Understandable mistake. Allan was very young and the voice was younger. But still very beautiful track and the video reflects the feeling so well. Thank you.
This song was actually from For Certain Because my favourite Hollies album but I totally agree with you that the Hollies are always underrated. They deserve to be in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame.
For Ceertain because has some of their finest songs...so under rated.

Allan does sing lead on the break 'The grass has grown much taller now', but Graham leads off -- his voice is never forced.

Don't get me wrong, I adore Graham. I'm a big fan of Clarke and Nash. :)

IA. To see those two childhood friends and pivotal members of the Hollies together again would be incredible.
