  • BOOM headshot

  • Thats not perfect start ;p

  • if you sail witha formula board this technic wont work, because you should take the water off the slave first, by lifting the top, and them, proceed to the boom, so that the sail pull you up.

  • In high winds I always have my boom at high levels, just like in the video. It makes it very easy to hold on to in high winds if you're say, going down the coast and you're travelling in one direction.

  • my sail is too heavy to lift like that i have to lift from the head and work my way down (9.5 RSX )

  • Good job , i tried to do it 2.

It failed , there's not enough wind in belgium.

Sometimes there are massive winds thou

  • scusa ma come fai al'inizio quando hai il peso della vela sulle braccia e sei ancora in acqua a restare a galla? devi sollevare con 2 mani il boma per mettere sulla tavola un piede... ma non affondi?

  • High booms and me don't mix, I keep trying but feel lack of control and even with the longest harness lines struggle to hook in -- then comes hooking out! Anyway nice vid! Thanks, you do make it look easy.

  • yer same my harness lines are so short i have to pull them to hook in

  • your boom should be shoulderheight!

  • nice job!

  • great video

i think it will help my waterstarts

    (there pretty bad)

    and just to join in

lower booms are usually placed for smaller boards because of how far the mast is from the edge of the board

making the boom higher (usually for formula) is commonly done because of how far away the

mast is from the edge (makes it easier to get into harness.. yaaaa

so thanks and sorry for my long responce lol

  • Your boom is a bit too high ;o.

I rather have it on chest or shoulder height.

  • thank you for the advise, i'll try to pull down the boom next time.

  • Actually Herman you're wrong. The lowest recomended boom hight is shoulders hight. Higher boom position gives better transition of force and is used by many freestylers and slalom racers.

  • @francoventoso and??? what hight is your boom now, after 3 years?
