Franklin Roosevelt saved the World. He should be number 1. Churchill #2.
Einstein would've been killed by Hitler; Marxist countries like China would be "Japanese" and Gutenberg's printing press would've been controlled by the state.
walt disney should be in the top 10 i mean com on...cartoons and theme parks would not be the same without him and he was one of the first to use color film, and the first cartoon movie!! Almost all of animation was based off of Disney's creation
And just how in the world is Elizibeth Cady Stanton ahead of Benjamin Franklin?! The patron saint of feminism has no place so high up on the list. Everyone uses electricity, and Franklin's ideals are timeless, whereas Stanton only appeals to radical feminists, right or wrong. If nothing else, Susan B. Anthony (who actually opposed abortion!) should be in Stanton's place.
wow i find it hard to believe that elvis & walt disney are ahead of Simon Bolivar, the liberator of South America.....they shouldn't even be on the list.......smh
Hillary Clinton appears to be the main "expert" they rely upon. That must say something. Will she be number one on their list? Who do you think she would choose? Haha!
wow...what a staggeringly in-depth analysis of kant: all they could think to say was 'communism was oppressive', as if kant had any relationship to communism at all
so, elvis comes after joan d'arc. ok. because of rock'n'roll? did i miss something? and who was e. cady stanton? first time, i heard that name. wow. famous. inspiring. important?
I find it funny they stated Elvis Presley had a unique ability of singing Black culture. In truth, Elvis copied MANY songs from Motown's black community like Ray Charles, Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, etc. Do they know their history?
I'm not criticizing Elvis. My point is just that he was a performer. One of the all time best. Whether he wrote it or someone else did, no one else could perform like him.
elvis presley spielberg i know they have a place in american history, but they hold little in world history even in the last century, and then you think about the millenium, and then u think how little influence they have, dude this list is like its made by retards

Elvis and the Beatles just mimicked a lot of black musicians who weren't on the list and won't be remembered because of our latent racism.

My thoughts and "grades", continued:
#57: Outranks Franklin, Marconi, Mandela, Faraday, both Roosevelt's...pitiful. F
#56: The pen behind Susan B. Anthony's voice. Again, one of the few women who really belongs on the list. A+
#55: Even though he didn't REALLY sail around the world, his crew did, and that's an accomplishment in and of itself. A

My thoughts and "grades" of each person in this part:
#62: Did Disney buy Walt's spot on the list? Give me a break... C-
#61: An underrated individual that needs more recognition for what he invented. A+
#60: He led America through one of the bleakest times in history AND led us through war. We need more presidents like FDR. A+
#59: Again, an underrated man who I'm glad got on the list for what he did. A-
#58: One of the few women who truly belongs on this list. She's truly an inspiration. A

The electricity of Elvis more important than electricity itself? Uh huh. (I suppose Robin Williams chose this list)
NathanBForrest1776, you're also correct :)

musicians aren't important compared to inventors, politicans or philosophys... why the fuck is Elvis and the Beatles on this list?

I don't think anyone credits Elvis with being a song writer. He was a performer pure and simple.
robnaro 3 years ago
Come on, he has written songs.
justicejayant 3 years ago
Ray charles is after Elvis.
Jackson 5 is 16 years after elvis.
Stevie wonder is 20 years after Elvis..
Why can't you just fuck them all? And stop criticizing Elvis..

Disney ranked ahead of Picasso?
-Stupid.
bluetigerlily 4 years ago 2
I don't think either should be on the list. Picasso had a great imagination and created some beautiful works, but what did he do for the world?
