osakaben and kyoto ben = kansai ben right? I mean they sound similar and they finish sentences with the copula ya instead of da.. or are there any slight differences? :)
@Lecreuset871 yes, verb conjugations are sometimes different first. E.g. "don't have / don't exist" - "arahen (kyoto)" / "arehen (osaka)". And Osakans don't usually use some expressions that people in Kyoto use and vice versa
@ishakak147 Yes, it's quite traditional. I don't think the street is not as scary as you think it would be. It's one of the most popular sightseeing spots in Kyoto, so there are always some people walking around there.
My mom is from Osaka. Im gonna learn osaka dialet, then learn kyoto dialect.

Thanks for the video :)
Wow, that street is really old-fashioned - I mean I like it!
But I guess I would be a little bit scared to be there at night, because it's kinda empty.
(does my comment make any sense? o_O)

Cool video :) It's often harder to learn local dialects since they aren't taught as frequently as standard Japanese, so thank you!

@SprocketTalker That's my point too :) They really should teach local dialects so our communication gets heartwarming and smooth.
