  • @dbadagna If this keeps up, you might as well pronounce "nuclear" as "bend over and kiss your ass goodbye"!

  • This IS scary. This IS reality. I hope everyone is awake now!

  • Very good interview. But the word "nuclear" is not pronounced "nucular."

  • That's scary.

  • I find its scary that USA has legalized bribe's as long as it at a high enough level.. now its called lobbying.

  • I love my American online friends..

I hope you guys win your freedom back

this is way way Beyond socialism vs capitalism.

  • USA manipulate , rape and use whole planet. America kingdom will bi destroyed / as well as any kingdom in history of man kind / Pray it will be soon.

  • I was attacked at Dicks Sporting Goods by a group of store managers at Smith Haven Mall in NY. It was caught on camera with audio. You will see me getting kicked on the ground in the groin by the store manager. PLEASE VIEW THE VIDEO and dont support a corporate giant. search you tube DICKS EMPLOYEES BEAT ON DICK as i cant post the link..SUPPORT MAIN STREET..DUMP WALL STREET DUMP DICKS. call DICKS AND QUESTION THEM 345 Court Street Coraopolis, PA 15108 BOYCOTT DICKS

  • recall governor walker of wisconsin

  • " Obama is weak". I'm a young, African American male and I feel this is one of the truest statement's I've heard about our President.

  • I have see the loss of our great factories ,the ponzi scheme that is the FED!!,The total corruption of our political system, corporations and financial structure .The lie that is free trade.Socialism which is all subsidies Propaganda portrayed as news, controlled by the elite. Our military used as a corporate global police force. If this is not stopped we shall be enslaved by the globalist. I ask for nothing from this system, why does it steal from me!! March on !!!!

  • wow i felt this way all my life but didn't know it

  • The advertisement I was forced to watch before viewing this great man speak his wisdom, was for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. Google Ad Sense, "just another whore at the corporate gang bang." How grossly inappropriate for this ad to be screened before this video.

  • the next civilization will consider our trivia shit meaningless.

  • corporations are legally considered souls..so unfortunately not too accountable for their mess-work..because they outlive their human puppet masters..

  • "Corporate Rape".... i like that haha.

  • I agree with a lot of what he says but I don't think the right wing is any less corrupt then the left wing when it comes to co-orperate running the show. What they need is either a third party to break the two party system or there needs to be a cap on compaign donations. In canada we have a cap on campaign donations as well as several parties. It works quite well.

  • If corporations are people can't we arrest them and hold them accountable for their crimes??

  • There is no fear in collapse.

It is what comes out of collapse we should fear.

It may be the same players at the top.

  • Corporations can now directly pay their candidates off. The Supreme Court is a player in this game of power and wealth.

    "Fight Consumerism."

"Get outside the system." All good stuff.

  • the military-industrial complex has existed since i was a kid, and now i'm retired. it has taken 50 years for someone as unafraid as Chris Hedges to name the insidious corporate takeover of government, in a way that others may listen. thank you, Chris - keep waking up the American population.

  • THANK YOU CHRIS FOR TELLING US THINGS THAT WE WILL NOT GET FROM FAUX NEWS OR THE REST OF THE CORPORATE MEDIA...

PLEASE SIR DO A STORY ON WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THE GINI INDEX IN AMERICAN SINCE THE LATE 1960s AND HOW WE COMPARE WITH WITH THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITY AND OTHER FIRST WORLD NATIONS

  • Thank you, Chris and RT. The country desperately needs to hear more of these viewpoints.

  • If capitalism is based on free markets, then you could never have CEOs and shareholders funneling millions of dollars away from a company without someone else creating a company that didn't do that and putting the first company out of business. Don't fall for their guilt trip bullshit. They only maintain their system by lying and cheating everybody.

  • stop asking your wretched edged, pre written questions you stupid whore! What happened to interviewers who had some sort of personal opinion on the issue, not a corporate network opinion

  • Freedom is the illusion

  • NUKE-ULAR

  • @kadjrare No NUCLEAR, brother

  • Any average person can do their campaigning free online. Don't vote for anyone who is accepting $ from corporations. Just STOP! It's not difficult.

  • @luvyatubers If you don't accept campaign finance, you won't get elected. Now what? Any average person can choose between two corporate parties.

  • At 6:59 Mr. Hedges refers to "nucular" rather than "nuclear", a common mistake and no problem--everybody's done it-- but didn't he run Bush over the coals for saying it the same way?

  • Something missing in these comments. I can't figure out exactly what...hmm...oh, wait, of course, to make it a proper YouTube comment section we need something like: "HEY LMAO WHAT THE F*** I KICK YOUR ASS STINKING COMMIE GO BAK TO RUSIA YOUR SO GAY" See? Complete with grammar limitations, threats and profanity. I feel right at home now. Thanks. I'm sure Chris would gladaly re-invert theaforesaid totalitarianism now that he's read a few curse words and threats.

  • Death of Liberal class is a great book. Hope people should read it.

  • God I fucking hate all the video and even audio being played over the speech of Hedges. And I'm inclined to regard it cynically.

  • As usual literature got there first. The leopard (Il gattopardo)'s most famous line: we have to change everything so that everything remains the same. What was Obama's buzzword? Change! Elites have always ruled. No we call them corporations, before they used to be landowners, what difference does it make? The american dream is a fallacy created by hollywood to keep you happy. Go back to bed america, your government has got everything under control...

  • As usual literature got there first. The leopard (Il gattopardo)'s most famous line: we have to change everything so that everything remains the same. What was Obama's buzzword? Change!!!Think about it. Elites have always ruled. Democracy is fairy tale and it was well before corporations took over.

  • Democracy is dead in america where cartoon characters get more media attention than people who actually have something to say. Meanwhile america pretends to uphold and support democratic reform in foreign countries.

  • Education may help global salvation by reviewing our unalienable Rights through the prism of science (see my channel video). From my video, these Rights apply to all Life, from bacteria to humans, and Social systems, including Charles Darwin’s research; as in some Grand Unification principle for all Living-systems. Many realized the Laws of Nature trumps mortals in power; a new understanding of these Rights may help make this world a better place to live.

  • What did Frank Zappa say about politics? "Politics is the entertainment wing of industry." Ha ha ha!

Hedges is only terrifying because he's not a lunatic telling us the end is near. He's an intellect who knows his stuff. I'm much more comfy when this kind of talk is relegated to the kooks. Hedges is no kook. Yikes.

  • Right now I'm reading books by Thom Hartmann, but I must and will get this man's books.

  • i like how we have shit like elction coverage two years before it starts. we have tards who are running for seats and attempts at presidential election focusing on that instead of actually heping the problems we have now.

  • Very eloquent, and unfortunately for us, completely true.

  • SO what are we going to do? This guy and others have been trying to wake up this country for years. But some how the right wing has been able to mobilize the tea party's and is misleading this people against their own interest.

  • @kodiakfred140 Wow, I read that over Thanksgiving....what an eyeopener it was. Then watching these vids is x2.

  • 11 DISLIKES??? LOL

MUST HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR REAGAN OR BUSH VIDEOS!!

  • The country has been gutted and now infested with parasites,

Its time to cripple this goddamn thing!

Vote with your wallet, just say NO!

  • Alright Chris Hedges is being a little disingenuous here, Fahad Hashmi sent materials to Al Qaeda and is being charged as such.

Although I do agree solitary condiment should be outlawed.

  • Right, except that journalists get shot in Russia. This guy's a tool.

  • Chris Hedges is like a prophet when it comes to the future of the United States. I am from Canada and although we are unfortunately moving in the same directly, albeit at a much slower pace thank God, it is crystal clear that the United States is moving towards fascism. Everybody needs to purchase this guys books and read them. Then make sure you lock them up well so that in the future the US equivalent of the Gestapo doesn't find them....

  • Only 23,600 Views :( It's sad really how utterly stupid America has become. Don't believe me? Go spend an hour at Wal-Mart.

  • @cmonpeeps sorry but they are busy promoting hate elsewhere.

  • The political parties are here to distract us. what we need is real action. its to the point where voting doesnt even matter.

  • @spilledinsanity

The public have utterly filed to keep restraints on the government and corporations, and through that apathy a massive and overwhelming force has been created with tentacles reaching every corner of the world. It may sound extreme, but the only hope i see is a benevolent dictator taking over and cleaning the entire system from top to bottom unrelentingly and with absolute authority.

  • Comment removed

  • @spilledinsanity you re so right why bother what does it do for the average hard working person ?nothing

  • @spilledinsanity

Direct mass action and solidarity. Pick up a book of Homage to Catalonia by George Orwell and study it. Pass the information along.

  • so whats the plan then?

  • @spilledinsanity vote for people you believe in whether or not it seems like they will win.

  • @idfman89: Where you one of those "Dancing Isralies on 911"?

  • @idfman89: You're obviously PAID GARBAGE WRITER for your ILLEGAL SATE OF ISRAEL. How do you get promoted, is it based on amount of shit you spit out?

  • Warning: idfman89 is a prapaganda zionist Isareli

  • Just listen to yourself, nothing but FILTH. Didn't your dad (if you had one) teaches manors?

Listen you're not going to scare me, I can deal with people like you. You want keep going? that's fine............................ bring it.

  • @idfman89: YOU ARE MENTALLY SICK. Go see a specialist and stay away from the satanic Zionist rabbis.

  • @idfman89: The final reckoning is coming for the Jews, that's according to the prophesies, not you, your IDF or you guns is going to stop it.

"Dancing Israelis on 911" "911 Missing Links" "USS Liberty dead in the water"

  • @idfman89: You must be one of those "chosen" Jewish criminals

  • Obama must stand up - destiny, or hes truly a sad&dangerous puppet...

but! "even he" is a human in the world, and no death corporation- thats hope worth.

I hope he (the human, not the brand) realize that, his chance or spend sometimes a thought on how he could push a public situation of some sort of visionary upturn.

Evolve the very empty "yes we can..." to "and now we start!"

Biggest "enemy" is simply: FEAR and IGNORANCE ("rightwing"/ fascism) the concept that form/need "corporations"

  • @aerobique

    hes not going to

or at least it is very unlikely and his influence must come from an outside source

but seriously, it our turn to act

    and fast.

  • I wish the few Americans that still actually read would pick up a copy of his "Empire of Illusion". It is a very eye-opening experience.

  • @kodiakfred140 Agreed. What a great book. Love Hedges' work.

  • @kodiakfred140 i picked it up

    im 17

i got one of my english teachers to pick it up

when i get back from break im gunna have to discuss it with him..

i also got my girlfriend to read it..i mean its such an eye opener

like all these influences and persuasion

im scared to see the day Noam Chomsky dies

hes like one of the last few big named American Intellectual Philosphers

  • @kodiakfred140 ...or "Amusing Ourselves to Death" by Neil Postman.

  • @Elin48 Nice suggestion.

  • great analysis of the ussa

  • "Obama is a brand"----what an insult! : )

  • Obama is a temporary brand. As he continues gaining power, his brand will lead to great improvements in our economy.

  • @TainaAtheist1, that is magical thinking. Due largely to his bailout, which was the largest transfer of wealth upwards toward the rich from the poor in ALL of American history, our economy is collapsing faster than ever. People are continuing to lose their jobs and be evicted from their homes. The idea that this will somehow result in economic recovery is not only absurd, but TOTALLY contradicts reality.

  • No the entire planet does not support Israel. That's ov er with. Israel blew it. Israel would have to do right for 100 years to be forgiven, and that can't happen because Israel can't do right.

  • America, we need to wake up and smell the coffee!! Obama needs to get rid of Giethner, Summers etc...

  • No, Obama needs to repent and become something other than a sadistic, manipulative sociopath. He needs to reinvent his character, but that won't happen, because people like Obama don't change.

Because we live in a society dominated by images on TV and computer, people are more and more deluded, passive, and cynical. Being spectators watching TV shows instead of participating in the political process, we believe we can't do anything to cause change. But this, of course, is untrue.

  • So we need to get more intimately involved in who our congress speaks to and take actions from there.

  • Canada and Europe are looking more and more appealing by the day....

  • I'm thinking European companies are also giving campaign contributions.

  • @idfman89, You have to break it down Ashkenazi, Ashke-NAZI.

  • @idfman89, Thanks to the internet the jig is up, the entire planet except many Americans know the truth about your illegal, apartheid, settler, welfare, lunatic state of Israel.

  • nevermind.. i saw your favorite vids .. i see what you're doing here .. another chomsky ...you sure are opposed to israel huh? i bet

  • Have you watched

Chossudovsky: US will start WW3 by attacking Iran

  • U.S. is a cooperation and so they allow other cooperations to buy into the system for profit. Can you say facist state? I can give you a date when America called Bankruptcy and became a Cooperation. So what is surprising about this? Diebold cheif coder stated in front of a congressioal hearing and said he could make the voting machines display results paid for and not actually entered by a voter. Where has been the coverage? The new company is the same. NO CHANGE ANYWAY ANYWHERE FOR GOOD!!

  • Viva la revolution

  • @idfman89

We know it was fake you moron, we know it was filmed in 1993 and was released by your friends, the criminal chosen Khazars of Israel.

Did your Zionist fat ass read the news?

"As of January 2010, over 1,000 architects and engineers have signed the AE911Truth's petition demanding a real investigation into the destruction of the three World Trade Center skyscrapers on 9/11."

They're coming for you Zionist.........can you say wild wild west?

  • fuck the jew world order

im down for the wild wild west

  • @superterrifichappy, Judaism is around 2000 years old and Zionism is a 100 year old atheistic, colonialist, fascist ideology from Europe. Do not confuse the two.

  • why did you think i confused the 2 ? i didnt mention either

  • @idfman89

Watch: "Five Dancing Israelis Arrested On 9/11 "

You're probably related to those "chosen" idiots.

  • Have you watched: "911 MISSING LINKS"? It's the best documentary (about criminals) that I ever seen.

  • @idfman89

You Zionist criminals are out numbered and your crimes have been exposed. Run for the hells...... wild wild west is coming on you ass sooooon.

  • @idfman89: You must be one of them Chosen brain washed Zionist Khazars, and one who reads the satanic "Protocol elder of Zion" every night before bed.

Did you have anything to do with 911? Where you dancing as well on that day?

  • The United States of America = Corporate Totalitarianism

  • Nothing we can do about it. Politicians are easily bought by corporations, hence making them whores addicted to money like crack. People live too comfortably to even try to do something against it.

  • odd thing is, we're not constructed to be a democracy here in the USA... that was the useful fiction that was sold to us via media, education and politics itself... we were supposed to have individual rights, to live in liberty, in freedom and in peace with each other, even those of different ideas and philosophies. This push for 'democracy' started long before I was born, and I was stunned to find out that wasn't what we were, too. But now I know; majority rule is not freedom nor liberty.

  • BagOfEyebrows,

What are you talking about? You want minority-rule?

Democracy means peace and freedom and liberty and individual rights.

Government by The People. Are you proposing we adopt some other system?

  • Liberty, freedom and the concept of self-governing are not achievable within the philosophy of 'democracy' - the word 'democracy' isn't in the constitution of the USA for a reason. The USA is in the dire straits it's now in because it DID adopt 'some other system' - that of democracy/majority rule, instead of respecting the concepts of individual liberty, freedom and rights - no, I do not want 'minority rule' anymore than I want 'majority rule' - I want freedom and liberty for all.

  • BagOfEyebrows,

Liberty, freedom and the concept of self-governing ARE democracy.

If you hate democracy, what system are you proposing?

if you hate government by The People, who do you propose to put in power? The money elite? We have far too much of that already. We should all be fighting to put The People BACK in power.

    Minority-rule is not freedom!

  • @ReliableInsider

Use google to search "larosa democracy vs republic". If you read that you'll understand where BagOfEyebrows is coming from. It's a very interesting look at the history of our government.

  • @Loyal2Liberty

    I know.

Benedict D. LaRosa has no idea what he's talking about.

America is committed to spreading democracy around the world by peaceful means. It's not committed to spreading "republic".

The Constitution and the Bill of Rights, representative government, and freedom and liberty are inherent in America's definition of Democracy.

  • Comment removed

  • @ReliableInsider @ReliableInsider The word Deomocracy isn't even in the Constitution, or, the Declaration of Independence.

"Democracy is the most vile form of government... democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention: have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property: and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths." James Madison who wrote the Constitution.

  • @da324 fuck that slave owner vampire of 18th century..

  • @amet1980 I didn't say as people they were perfect, but the documents they produced to keep our government in check is the best ever produced. To bad people are to dumbdowned to realize they should be controlling the govt, not the other way around. But hey, as long as the masses have sneakers with lights, i-pods, american idol, reality TV, sports, etc. etc. etc. They are no threat to anyone.

  • @da324

    Bullshit.

If you hate democracy, then you hate everything that America stands for.

I say renew your passport and move to Burma (Myanmar). There's no democracy there. It's a dictatorship. The People have no power at all. You'll be very happy.

  • @ReliableInsider Wrong! America is a Constitutional Republic, not a Democracy. Maybe you should expand your horizons and give the Constitution a read, because many of the authors despised Democracies. This is a young country and look how far we've slipped. We are losing liberties at a staggering rate. If you can't understand what that means for the future if it's not reversed, then you're ignorant.

  • @da324

    You have it backwards.

They despised tyranny, which is why they worked to make sure the President would never become a king. America is a republic in that sense.

And they were leery of democracy because they weren't sure it would work.

    But it's doing okay.

America is now the world's oldest continuous democracy. We work to spread freedom and democracy around the world--not freedom and "republic".

  • @ReliableInsider The word Democracy isn't even found in our founders documents. There's a reason for that. Thye knew they don't work forever. Also, we force freedom and democracy around the world by force! We are fucking bullies in the biggest sense. We want their goddamn resources to continue feeding the corporate scum that rule this country. We will, get this, NEVER leave Iraq. If all the military bases aren't enough proof, then you wouldn't know truth if it bit your nose.

  • @da324

Government of The People, by The People, and for The People, as Lincoln called it . . .

    is democracy.

Representative democracy with a constitution that creates a separation of powers and that establishes a bill of rights is American democracy, and that's what we mean when we say 'democracy'.

If you hate democracy, you hate The People, and you hate America.

There is a tiny elitist movement in this country to eliminate government of, by, and for The People. Don't join it.

  • @ReliableInsider If people don't get thier heads out of their asses, they can kiss this experiment goodbye. As far as democracies go, who in their right mind would want a system wher 51% of the population can decide how the other 49% live? That's a democracy for you and it should be called mob rules, because that would better describe it.

  • @da324

Well, consider the alternative: minority rule. That would be even worse.

As Winston Churchill famously said, 'Democracy is the worst form of government, but it's better than all the -others-!'

You're saying we have rule by representatives . . .

but we don't. They're elected by The People. We have government by The People, with the rights of all including the minority protected by the U.S. Supreme Court and the Judicial branch, which takes it's guidance from the U.S. Constitution.

  • @da324

The Constitution is -interpreted- by the Supreme Court . . .

but the Supreme Court is selected by the President and the Senate . . .

who are chosen by The People.

At the top of America's power pyramid are The People, i.e. everyone.

The only people who are afraid of freedom and democracy are those who fantasize that there is some tiny elite who could be trusted to hold 100% of the power and govern everything.

    There isn't.

Only The People can be trusted with that much power.

  • @ReliableInsider No, the people who understand the power structure are realists, they are not afraid of freedom. You trust your govt way to much. Who elects the presidnt? It surely isn't the people. The people have two choices at the end of the day. Puppet number one and puppet number two. either way the power elite win because THEY put them there for the PEOPLE to choose. "It doesn't matter who they voted for, they vote for us." Joeseph Stalin, Htler's propaganda minister. Get real!

  • @da324

Voters are lazy and they know very little about candidates early in the campaign and private financing of elections favors the candidates who are favored by wealthy contributors.

But elections are still determined by voters walking into a voting booth and doing what the parties have told them to do.

Voters should put more effort into choosing who to give all the power to and campaigns should be publicly financed.

But there is no better system than having votes vote.

  • @ReliableInsider It doesn't matter who the people vote for. The candidates have been put in place to give you the illusion that you, have a choice. Last election our choices were McCain and Obama. WOW, two great choices. Let me ask you something. What has OBAMA ever done in his life to be given consideration to be president? NOTHING, he's part of the game. He was picked because he will do what his OWNERS want him to do. If he doesn't, they will not help him in a re-election. It's a joke!

  • @da324

I think part of that is just Republican propaganda.

The right-wing keeps saying Obama has "owners" because they think some Americans think it's impossible for a black man to think for himself, but I don't see any evidence that he has any "owners".

People have three options: campaigning on behalf of a Republican, campaigning on behalf of a Democrat, or campaigning on behalf of someone else.

  • @ReliableInsider Have you not read anything I've written? I said BOTH parties are owned and have been for a LONG time. OBAMA is as much of a liar as GWB was and I have video top prove it. He said he would stop the war if he was elected and do it on his first day in office. What has he done? He has expanded the war and congress just agreed to give him 33 billion more today. Where the fuck do you think that money comes from when we are in such financial ruins? FOLLOW THE MONEY for truth!

  • @da324 ok this post makes you less not smart...good post!

  • @da324

If a non-Democrat were a better Democrat than the Democratic nominee, I'd vote for him/her.

But only if he/she could actually win the election. It doesn't make any sense to vote for Ralph Nader and end up electing George W. Bush.

In other words, people can't wait until Election Day to start supporting a third candidate. Someone has to emerge and unite the country behind him/her in order to win.

That's what Obama did. Everyone assumed Hillary would be the Democratic candidate.

  • @ReliableInsider There were three candidates who were telling the truth last election and two were Dems. Dennis K and Mke Gravel. The lone Republican was Ron Paul. They were being honest and look how they were treated. Why? Because they aren't bought and paid for and refused to go along with the establishment BS. So, the controlled media made them look like kooks, when in reality, the two final nominees are the ones who will loot us beyond belief. They are the true threat this nation.

  • @da324

Corporations attempt to corrupt Members of Congress. We can weaken the threat corporations pose by telling Members of Congress that no amount of "campaign tv advertising" or "radio hate-mongering" will convince us to vote for Congressmen who are voting against us or against Congressmen who are attempting to vote -for- us when they vote on legislation.

That requires that we all be well-informed.

  • @ReliableInsider

Corporations attempt to corrupt voters, too, by financing candidates with political consultants who appeal always to our basest instincts and our most primitive fears, and who try to turn us against each other.

We can resist corporate messages and corrupt political consultants by identifying their messages and ignoring them.

Republican political consultants want all decent Americans to give up and not vote. Don't let them talk you into surrendering.

  • @ReliableInsider No one talks me into anything, I don't buy into the two party bullshit. Stop the two party paradigm thinking, because that's what the powers to be want. They want to keep us divided over party lines, race, religion, etc. In the meantime, they keep stealing our money and freedoms daily. When OBAMA's tenure is up, the deficit he'll leave behind will make GWB's look like child's play. They (R&D) are systematically eliminating the middle class for their own gain. FUCk em'!

  • @da324

America has a lot of problems and big campaign contributors have a corrupting influence on elections.

    Our options are:

    1. to give up and cry, or

    2. to do something about it.

The most plausible route to saving America is to keep on reforming the Democratic Party until it's good enough. And to replace the Republican Party with a party that benefits somebody somehow instead of just working for those among the wealthy who are completely corrupt.

  • @ReliableInsider The Dems want to redistribute the wealth. What possible incentive does someone have to go out and work their ass off so that it can be stolen and given to somebody else who wants to lay around on their ass? Not only is that unconstitutional, it's morally wrong. You must be fairly young to buy into all the propaganda. Then again, many older people still belive the bullshit after decades of lies. Governments love apathetic blind party patriots, easy pickings!

  • @da324: You should be ashamed to promulgate the myth that the people with the most money are "working their asses off" and that wealth redistribution somehow gives all that hard earned money to people who lay around on their asses. You are supporting a plutocracy where 10% of the population possesses 80% of all financial wealth. Watching your financial portfolio appreciate is not hard work in my book.

  • @Malagraves I suggest you re-read my post. I never stated that the wealthiest worked their asses off. Middle class people pay a lot more in taxes percentage wise. It is those people who are getting screwed to pay for programs that perpetuate need and laziness. It's also unconstitutional to take form one sector of the population and GIVE it to another. While you're re-reading things, you may want to add the Constitution to your list.

  • @da324

Screw the Constitution. There are much better forms of government and economic organization than what the U.S. has. The Constitution is for the ignorant to fall back on. People need to use their own brains and think for themselves.

Plus, your disgust for the average American is sickening just like all the other Libertarian idiots. Continue to soak in all the right wing propaganda and fuck over America. The "needy and lazy" will eventually rise and take down greedy bastards like you.

  • @WorldPeace4All6 I'm not a Libertarian genius and I'm not greedy. However, my fucking money shouldn't go to people who want to leach off the system, or anyboidy else for that matter. Why, because it's MY fucking money! My disgust for the average American is because they are sheep who are more concerned with Amercan Idol than the country that's fucking them over. Tell me another form of government that's better than a Constitutional Republic. Can't wait to here it jr.

  • @da324 ahahhaha you are so not smart ....i think beck is on ..go drink his koool aiiiid ahahaha

  • @da324

Government -could- work for us and our representatives -could- actually represent us -if- we unite as a people and if we, the voters, all back the same candidate . . . and support better ones than before in each election.

Of -course- the powerful want power and the wealthy want even more money than they already have. But if we become wise as a nation and start supporting the best among the candidates every time, The People as a whole will win.

  • @da324

Democracy -could- work. Democracy -can- work. And, to some extent, Democracy -is- working, starting with the election of Barack Obama.

The federal government is so much better under the guidance of Barack Obama than it was under Dick Cheney that it's almost mind-boggling. We have a long way to go, and it's not certain that The People are going to win this battle, but, for now, we're on the right track.

    America almost died in 2008.

    We're back!

  • @ReliableInsider Give me a break. Obama has accelaerated the size and scope of government faster than any president before him. I'm not a republican either. We are not on the right track. There's no jobs, people are losing homes at a rate unheard of, the dollar is junk, and we're printing more to try and stop it. It's a fucking joke! You've bought into the two party paradigm. You're being systematicaly robbed. Obama is a puppet just like McCain would have been. OPEN your eyes to truth!

  • The reason we prefer the word 'democracy' to the word 'republic' (even though we are both) is that the word 'democracy' stresses the most important element of all: government BY The People.

There is no group that is preferable to be at the top of the power hierarchy than We The People ourselves.

  • Adherence to the U.S. Constitution and defense of fundamental rights by the judicial and executive branches protect the rights of the minority. Voting expresses the will of the majority.

There is no conflict. The majority has great power but it can't do whatever it wants.

    That's democracy.

    Or Democracy.

It's such a great idea that it deserves a capital letter.

If anyone who reads this comment ever comes up with a better system of government than American Democracy, post it here.

  • @ReliableInsider How about a Constitutional Republic. Our forefathers knew Democracies didn't work. So much so that the word itself isn't even mentioned in the Constitution, or, The Declaration of Independence.

  • @ReliableInsider

That's how it was SUPPOSED to work.

    Good job, you got down the concept, now here's the reality;

Cooperations pay off politicians who have the power and technology to change what the votes are, manipulate people into voting for silly laws, and jailing the innocent.

It's a very manipulative system and its set up completely for the benefit of the wealthy and powerful.

I'd honestly suggest a form of anarchy

All that it would take is better education and people could govern themsel

  • @spilledinsanity

You and I agree that corporations and the super-rich are corrupting the system.

Another way to say it is that America should get BACK to being a democracy and get BACK to rule by The American People.

With every reform we make, the ideal we strive for should be government by and for The People rather than by and for corporations or by and for the super-rich.

Who knows, if everyone were well-educated -and- well-informed, maybe we'd choose better representatives.

  • But there isn't one.

If we want to make this country better, we have only to hew more closely to the the system we already have.

Corporations and billionaires have too much power. To whatever extent we can shift power back to We The People and make government more democratic, we will be making it better.

There is a movement afoot to replace democracy with plutocracy. Don't fall for it. It's a very, very bad idea. We should be doing the exact opposite. Less plutocracy, more democracy.

  • The real meaning of 'republic' is a country whose head of state is elected rather than being hereditary.

That was a big deal back then. Today, we would never be so moronic as to have the son of a former U.S. President be President of the United States.

It would obviously be disastrous and would probably destroy the world economy.

  • You cannot have liberty or freedom or self-government if some group other than The People are in power.

In America, The People are at the top of the power hierarchy, and government works for us. That is the ideal we should be striving to restore.

If you have some other plan, it's not about freedom.

  • well.. that depends on what type of majority. I think the key idea is having more parties, so that the only way to form a majority gouvernment is through colaboration and trade-offs. Not as efficient as a true majority gouvernment, but at least more diffrent viewes people are represented at once. Take away corporate campaign funding from the election process and smaller parties will be possible.

  • According to the Democrats, there are fascists in the Republican party already. And according to the Republican Party, there are socialists in the Democratic Party.

Yet, even two parties seem to be too many to join together to be able to come together in a time of crisis.

Divide the Democratic Party into two pieces . . . and you will never have Progressive government again. Because the corporations and right-wing militarists are too smart to divide themselves. So they would win every time.

  • In fact, it may already be too late.

The corporations and right-wing military contractors and Big Oil and the embittered heirs of billionaires . .

    may already have won.

We've all got to unite against them. They want us to divide into a hundred little powerless parties who never talk to each other.

We need to join into one party.

The Democratic Party is just a vehicle, but it's the most plausible vehicle out there.

Ron Paul didn't even RUN in 2008, for President. They told him not to.

  • Corporatism fears the free market, Military Industrial complex fears peace, government fears the people. We must not be afraid and move forward to bring about a new existence for the our selves in each city, county, state, and then in or nation. We must disconnect from all of the trappings of corporate media and glean all of our information for the basic tenets and principles of Peace, Freedom, and Sovereignty of the individual and their property. Lets show them we will not be bought or owned.

  • funny how the name of this is russia today! And their input of socialism on American matters with the use of a far left wing ideology They can manipulate anyone that listens to this!

  • You're an idiot.

  • We can end it tomorrow if start pointing the real criminals: "THE ZIONIST JEWISH CRIMINAL GROUP"
