  • What is the name of the specific Polovetsian dance played in the vid? I think that it's the most beautiful piece ever written.

  • I thought Capriccio espagnole was composed by Ravel?

  • @Nuker1337 Rhapsodie Espagnole

  • On thrusday i have to prepare a huge expo on the "mighty handful" And this video can very well help.. can you tell me The order of the pieces and the composer for each..Thank's

  • @yeahso0578 Hello, all the names of the pieces and composers are included in the video. ;)

  • no stravinsky?

  • @jhlee10144 Stravinsky was not a member of "The Mighty Handful", he came a bit later, but don't worry, if you like Stravinsky, there will be a lot of his music on my channel soon! ;)

  • I adore the mighty handful! Balakirev and Rimsky-Korsakov could have really mean-spirited personalities though... but their music is great!

  • nice,balakirev is underrated

  • Great video! Thank you for uploading this! My very fav is Rimsky - Korsakov for his Scheherazade and Borodin with his Polovtsian Dances, but Mussorgsky - for his Night!

  • Excellent video, as always.. Thank you very much!! Russian composers are great

  • A very fine tribute to the Могучая кучка! Musorgsky's my personal favorite, so you know I'd rather hear the original piano versionbut everyone here is very well represented, even Cui, and the undeservedly little-known polonaise finale from Balakirev's second symphony.

  • all amazing composers. i really like the mussorgsky and borodin. but they are all great!

  • Rachmaninov? He wasn't a member of this group of composers.

  • I never knew the first 3 wrote so much! It's nice to hear beautiful works you've never heard before :)

thank you so much for all your videos!

  • (continuation) the piano version and not the orchestral transcription which is more a Ravel work than pure Moussorgsky.

As for Rimsky, he was the master of them all. A true master of orchestration and has helped all the others with his science of orchestral colors.

A great video, though, with five of the greatest Russian composers......

  • What is remarkable is that, apart from Rimsky, they were all "amateurs". I love Borodin's 2nd Symphony and, as ever, regret that the names of the performers are omitted. Cui is not the most popular but has written some beautiful "Melodies"

Balakirev was a very curious and dark person. His Islamey remains his most popular work but at the piano. Moussorgsky was a true genious and his Opera Boris Godounov is a true masterpiece. As for the Pictures of an exhibition, you should have published
