  • The last 2.5 minutes of this could be the closing of "Chicagoland, The Musical"

  • Something is wrong... Yo tube is only counting my views on this video!

  • I saw all the complains choirs; and this is the best when. This video has way to less viewers...

  • More money for teachers, less for "professional" athletes.

  • the movie the other guys has a skit in it where the charactor sings his problems in a choir that is because it has been done in other countrys Traditional Folk Music and Songs where they sing their days problems that they face this has been going on for centurys i dont remember the country that started it

  • Psychology Today has an article about this choir! The link is on the Psychology Today website in 'The Squeaky Wheel' blog or @GuyWinch on twitter "have you heard of complaint choirs?"

  • The idea is generally not bad, but imagine this song in the Third World. THink out of the box! It is not only about having troubles with your neighbor chewing too loud.

  • @rusalkarin ahem, as far as i know many of these complaints are sarcastic and make fun of people who complain without thinking of people who have it way worse. i'm not sure, i really hope that's how it is... but either way i take the complaints with a grain of salt haha.

  • @rusalkarin

would you say that about blues? it's folk music, and it's all about complaining.

  • this is the best one

  • i want this on my ipod

  • the baby seem to be sleep in all of the different frames lol

  • one of the best

    thanks Chicago

  • they haven't lived in asia if they think chicago is crowded.

  • love the video. I'm so glad they finished the song.

  • que es CTA, what´s CTA?

  • @caletcalet CTA significa Chicago Transit Authority, los trenes y los autobuses en la ciudad.

  • I thought I was the only one who thought "only tourists like deep dish pizza."

  • Such a simple concept. Brilliant and well-done. Not heavy-handed either. Hopefully people will stop and think about this the next time they are about to fly into a rage because a washing machine at the laundromat left their clothes sopping wet.

The "Rapture" / Global Warming lyric is genius. I'd love to hear a New York version of this.

  • haha this is awesome!

  • I'm not a Chicagoan or from the States even ... What does CTA stand for?

  • im thinking its chicago transit authority

  • it is indeed the Chicago Transit Authority - responsible for the elevated trains, busses, etc...

  • @siddpr It's the Chicago Transit Authority. Basically, public transportation.

  • the amature jethro tull cover band practicing around the block will never rock...

    awesome

  • Absolutely awesome!

  • The second half was better than the first.

  • "Too many people believe in the rapture to do anything about global warming." Ain't that the fuckin' truth.

  • @aestevalis0 you8 got that right that is the fflippin truth

  • my favorite from all the complaints choir videos... they have great voices..!

  • Great soprano =D Awesome!

  • I thought the Texas-sized garbage patch was in the Pacific...?

I liked this one :] the harmonies are great!

  • Frackin' Christ on the cross. It's "loses" not "looses." Glad you got "its" right though.

  • This is awesome!

  • Whoever wrote this one must have been horny at the time.

  • Is this racism?

  • "when someone rides free we all pay"

This is the most watched video by me. I've never watched something over and over again and always better than the time before.

This really does embody Chicago's residents.

  • This is so funny! I should join this :-)

  • Great video!!

  • i almost cried laughing at the "CTA" chorus

  • If I would have known about this choir I would have auditioned! (sung in a complaining manner)

  • I think its hilarious that there are kids in the choir and "they are still thinking about sex" LMAO!!!!!

  • if you look closer the kids dont sing this line but covering their ears instead.

  • @atomipommi LOL. INDEED. At the very last "I am stll thinking about sex" line. you can clearly see the kid doing that.

  • @atomipommi I hadn't noticed. That's hilarious!

  • @atomipommi I hadn't noticed. That's hilarious!

  • Very catchy and great lyrics. ;)

  • Women need to much attention!

  • the best complaints choir

    and the BEST CHOIR!

  • Naver been to Chicago before but I have learnt so much about the city through this song! Cute.....

  • When complaints are sung. They don't sound as bad. And YES, I am still thinking about sex..

  • Very cute, but "loses" is spelled incorrectly in the subtitles.

  • Almost everything is spelled incorrectly or wrongly punctuated or capitalized in the subtitles.

  • anybody that is eager to improve spelling and punctuation can drop me a PM, they are most welcome to improve upon the current version...

  • The last few minutes were great. Very catchy.

  • i still cant stop thinking abt sex

  • lmao... they always repeat that part...

  • 5:04 until the end is the best part.

Oh my god I could listen to the last three minutes for HOURS.

  • wow

  • I just visited Chicago for the first time and agree with so much of this! I had a great time in your city, but I noticed some of its faults. This was brilliant - perhaps the best Complaints Choir since Helsinki!

  • When I listened to the live version, I thought it said "My roommate is chewing out Rachel Stevens". It's good to have the subtitles.

  • As a fellow Chicagoan, I'm embarrassed that there are close-minded individuals like yourself in my area who fail to see the purpose or usefulness of channeling normally negative energy into a creative and positive expression of art.

You have neither the knowledge nor place to say that these people would prefer to complain rather than act. Yes, some of them might behave as such, but most likely not all.

And for the record, the choir started in Helsinki, it's not just an American thing. =P

  • @laurylchan

I hate people who think people who complain are just whiners, and need to get a life. I hate that negative view you know.. This dude doesn't even know anyone on the choir I bet. I find this to be really creative!!!! MY cousin almost did the one in tokyo, but decided to opt out on it (lives in sendai) I wish I was back in tokyo last yr to do it. XD the singapore one is my fav. still. lived in boon lay for some time XD.. I'm an okie btw but lived in chicago for a bit of my childhood

  • the project originated in europe (finland first, i believe). So while Americans are good at complaining, let's also acknowledge that the core concept of the video series isn't American.

  • the point is not where this originated though.. the pt is to have enough self-awareness to be able to laugh at yourself. some of this is not about problems that need solving, but just annoying details that frames everyday lives. surely its not an embarrasment to recognise faults and fallacies any more than it is to be human!

    (contd.)

  • and the pt is to connect people. before doing anything, you need to socially acknowledge and often create a discourse around a problem that extends beyond yourself. there are contradictions voiced here, both sides of which are are recognisable by others! i think sharing frustrations is a fascianting way to release tension ..it makes people more "equal". :)

  • ...and your point being?

Complaining is universal. Music is universal.

  • This is amazing.

Every line they said reminded me of a thought I had. This is fantastic. Love it.

  • Love it!!! (no more meanness on the internet!) :-)

  • I moved from Chicago to Berlin 8 years ago and that has reminded me of my life there more than anything has in a long time. Love to you all! Focus on the positive things in life!

  • fucking GENIUS!!!

  • yeaaaah right on

  • this is a great video, starts out a bit rough, but hang in there ends really nicely. Nice pacing, builds well.

  • That's a hell of a close up on Megan, there...
