  • Love cafe racers, but I still think it looks a bit silly when these old blokes look like they're trapped in the time period..

  • These guys kinda remind me of these middle class professionals who dress up as cowboys at the weekend. Love the bikes, but the dressing up is a bit sad. Grow up.

  • damn I love cafe racers. I have a bobber cafe and it's truly my baby. only problem is the cops nabbed me last night for speeding and impounded the sweet thing.

  • Arrivo!

  • This inspires me to get, or rather build, my own Cafe Racer!. im more of a car guy but i have been looking for that perfect bike and whats more perfect than one you can build to your exact liking. The only thing i dont like about this is that some of the people that belong to this awesome culture aren't welcoming to those who want to join =/ how are you suppose to keep this awesome thing you got going alive with that attitude...

  • @ MrUnited08. I just hope you don't think all americans are wankers. Admitedly there are some bad apples but a fair number of cool cats as well

  • Great clip. Cafe racers are back in America and Europe - thumbsup --Beacham Owen

  • @ConnollyJordan there is no real brand name, people just make them... probably a feather-bed frame with a Harley v t for that American muscle.. :D

  • My recollection is that most cafe racer bikes were not that fast. Most would be struggling to reach 120mph. Wasn't really about top speed though. It was all about image. They looked fast and powerful. They were good ol' days!

  • ROCKERS RULE !!!

  • How are these for longer highway trips? I'm thinking about building one

  • @mysticblade35 they will hurt !!

  • Does anyone know where I can buy this?

  • @dubyamoney yea no chance !! thats why america buy our harrier's is it ? etc etc dream on sad o

  • @MrUnited08 one F22 would totally fuck the whole RAF, PS all your gay boys are being sacked because you cant afford nice new toys. Also the harrier is shit!!!

  • @dubyamoney you really are one divvy twat!! we could bring out the mighty old spitfire and still rape a F22 !! it's shit so the americans bought them hahaha its just american pilots cant fly them !! and to be honest i couldnt care less if people are getting sacked as long as i still get my pay check im happy enough to carry on working !!! and like i said this isnt my account mine is englandman2008 deal with it !!!

  • @dubyamoney what a cunt !!!

  • @OzzyDave6969 I remember it as a young lad I used to pass it every day walking down Ashton old road to Openshaw tech I saw the bikes at the meets and always wanted to be part of it when I eventually had a bike, sadly it went long ago and the old hall was demolished.

  • @markkiee666 Typical yank all mouth !!!! face to face you'd shit your pants ..oh bye the way give me six you inbred.... LOL

Royal enfield ( top brit tit bike)hahahahahahahaha vs gxr 1000 - yes the brits need tea to steady their nerves before the ass kicking starts!!!

  • Gday guys

If you love Cafs and other custom built bikes, please subscribe to my channel tabmow69

and keep up to date with all the projects and builds at

    IronHorseRevolution

  • Long live the Mods!!!

  • i saw the show yesterday and i liked it , i like the concept of customizing the bikes and going retro. the bikes history is pretty cool, something i totally missed.

  • Short and sweet, but very good & well made video.

Remember seeing large groups of Rockers/ton up boys riding through Kent in the summer when i was a child.

You can't beat that roar !!!

    Fantastic.

  • Rockers rule!!!! Mods suck!!!!

  • classier than your average harley rider, more balls than your average ninjaboy

  • whats the name of the song??

  • @pachu4 The song at the end is "Shakin all over" - "Johnny Kidd and the Pirates"

Does anybody know wich tune they play in the rest of this clip?

  • @pachu4 FBI by the shadows, was a rocker myself golden days!!

  • This is one of my favourite videos on You Tube...can't wait to be at The Ace on Sunday!!

  • ... As for my beautiful California at least it does't look like it's borrowed from the set of Thomas the Train Engine...

  • Oh and Basher (or whatever you like to tell yourself you are) trying to sound tough with a cockny accent doesn't quite work ... A bit like trying to sing rock music with a Liverpool accent. It's just irritating. Now if earlier I made a comment that was out of place I made ammends and apologised. That however doesn't extend to taking shit from a pom.

  • @oneoctavelow less of the pom gezer you wana ride the roads we have over here in the UK ,ive riden in the USA many times with club m8s who are based in the USA and belive me the real fun is to be had over here in the UK the road in the clip is the A406 lost so many m8s on this road esp the iron bridge bla bla

  • Basher79 you sound rather tough from behind a keyboard...

  • what a lifestyle, i used to be into american styled choppers. i was wrong wasnt i.

  • me old man just got a triumph thruxton '08. looks DIRTY.

  • did you know the new triumphs out sold all other motorcycles last year, my mate has the rocket 111

  • I sold my fist dresda triton for £300 I think the aloy dresda petrol tank would cost more than that now

  • I just bought a Triumph Thruxton. Its an amazing machine. It attracts a lot of attention when I ride it. People fall in love with it where ever I go.

I love the Brit Ton Up culture. I'm an American but fully wholeheartedly support and promote the old 60's British bike culture. Its eye opening when old grizzled Harley veterans come up to me at the gas pump and tell me they wish they had one too. :)

    Cheers!

  • @kpb96m nice on but on the harley thing sporties are cool my choice of ride these days for so many resons You got a fine bike there Safe rideing

  • F**king brilliant, arrrrr

  • yeah baby!!!!!!!! yeas!

i want a bike like that!

  • great video:)

  • I've got a R1200R on order and after seeing this I'm already regretting my choice. Bugger!!

  • Comment removed

  • Ok maybe I was being unfair in my comments earlier... The Triumph, I admit, is a respectable motorcycle and in the end anyone with a passion for motorcycles is a brother (or sister) of my 'cloth'. I personally ride a Guzzi California 1100 and have never owned any other bikes :-) like you I love my bike, for its 'soul'.

  • @oneoctavelow I'm a biker and if we ever met and you called me your brother I would lump you one son! How dare you judge the whole British cafe racer culture when you yourself admit the only bike you've ever owned is a italian copy of a Harley which isn't designed for speed (and lets face it, looks either). Why don't you chug-along on your old-man bike and stop bothering the real men ( and women)

  • @Bashers79 well put bash

  • Great video...I was riding those bikes in the 60s...still am...arse up...head down...full throttle.....

  • i want to sell my car and get a cafe racer.

  • bought a Triumph Thruxton last week, cause i'm not a mecanic and love to ride a cafe racer. First miles are stunning, i'm almost 39 and love the cult thats comes along with this motorcycle.

  • ROCKERS RULES!!!

    mods suck!

  • Im building a Yamaha R5 cafe bike!

  • Oneoctavelow...What the fuck you on about,do you want them to talk say maybe south African?..man you are a Twat..And pray tell what do you ride..

  • Sorry, the Pommy accent killed it for me from the start ... Oh and parallel twins ? Don't think so.

  • @oneoctavelow Well you guys dont have any heritage like this, I wouldn't expect you to like it. Still, im sure theres some lovely trucks you can salivate over! As for the accent.. get over yourself.

  • @oneoctavelow

    all bikes are fun

  • @g2sticks That is true though some are more fun than others :-)

  • @oneoctavelow and what would a keyboard freak now about rideing bikes it aint like playing a com game go on have a go now

  • mods can go to hell

    ROCKERS FOREVER!!!!!!!!!

  • Cult Of The Cafe Racer

  • Don't understand, sorry. Looks strange for me.

  • Comment removed

  • luv from liverpool cheers mate : ]

  • customized, fast, loud and low.. liking this café racer motorcycle cult

  • love it, notice that even in near freezin weather they still don't wear those poncy face mask thingies that fair weather harley riders seem to favor?

  • the coolest looking bikes

  • It's raining and below 32F. Means ICE, All I can think about is to go riding.

  • Chowajcie cruisery cafe racers the best!!!!!

  • to old to rock and roll,to young to die ! i miss the whole biker thing soooooooooo much. to crippled to ride now but love watching those who can . keep the faith lads

  • Classy / Edgy

  • so cool.... the original sport bikes....

  • Classic bikes & memories of my mispent youth! 5* & Fav.

  • the music is by Johnny Kid and the Pirates-Shakin All Over.

  • thank you for the memories. i miss my gold star.

  • what is the first tune? i know it.. but can't place it

  • whats the song called

  • Great film. Great bike's. Modified by biker's with a passion for creating somthing personal. Good stuff. 5* and faved.

  • The song at the end of the video is Johnny Kidd & the Pirates 'Shakin' All Over'. It's been edited though, as there is no singing. The guitar playing in the movie is 'F.B.I.' by The Shadows.

  • Cafe Racers feared and hated by everyone? Awesome!

  • What is the song that plays during the end 'credits' segment of this vid?

  • i love single engine

  • cafe racers. Young people being foul mouthed, reckless and aggressive, never, who'd have thought it.

  • what is the band and song of last one what come from? unknonwed finnish with orginal norton es2 -61

  • Pls start at bottom and read upwards

  • Here's a true story. When I was 21 an event happened that upset my folks so badly that temporarily disowned me - I'd gone againt their wishes and behind their backs and bought an H100S (the big scary version!). In a tearful reconciliation they said they still loved their son but couldn't understand how I'd become a b***r. Like a lot of their generation, they'd grown up hating bikes and the culyure that went with it. That's how damaging the whole cafe racer phenonemon was.

  • ....and gave bikers a bad image that lasted for years. They were that era's equivalent of today's Asbo scum who drive stolen cars around council estates. 'S funny that the same ppl who celebrate their legacy today by painstakingly building authentic copies are the exactly the kind of respectable hard working ppl who wouldn't even have pissed on those low life back then.

(Don't mean to to spoil the vid, just thought I'd get that off my chest, I am a biker BTW)

  • Ppl want to reinvent cafe racers as something romantic and glamorous.WTF!! My mother showed me a cafe in Barry, S Wales(then a bustling holiday resort) where she remembers cafe racing in the early sixties. The bikers were foul-mouthed and aggressive and would go tearing round Barry Island Lake at dangerous speeds on bike that were generally illegal/unroadworthy/stolen and always with the baffles removed. They were feared and hated by everyone else.

    cont....

  • Jeez! Who owns that very first bike shown? I would love some more pics/details on it!

  • Comment removed

  • The first bike shown is an Evolution Harley Sportster, the engine at least! The rest looks handmade to me.

  • Rocker over here, fuck you over there!

  • HA, its you who wears the Leathers mate!

  • I love this stuff, it's timeless, the bikes give the thrills but aren't throwaway crap that are obsolete in 3 years. Greetings from California, USA. You rock, Britain!

  • 1.11 Alan you the same ugly like 5 years ago ;) hello from poland-its me marek's brother....

  • why couldn't I be born in the UK

  • Obviously not priviliged enough ;) we are prestigious people :D

  • Hold on, that guy at 44 seconds in - I know him! Is that you Elkz? Yes it is, you Welsh bastard. I know your secrets, yes, ALL of them! You bloody bastard.... Yes you know ALL about NOISE don't you, eh? Shall we interview your neighbors? BWAAHAA!! I love you mate - Thunz :)

  • Did you ever finish that bobber?

  • It's getting close. It should be running by next weekend. Then I need to sort out brakes, fit foot pegs, wire up the lights etc then it will be almost ready for the registration process.

  • Good to hear. Then you'll make a vid of it, right?

  • Oh shit yeah! I'll make another small project update vid (just like the first three) then when it's finished and on the road I'll make a longer one, more like my aluminium polishing vid, etc. The main thing slowing the project down right now is my lack of funds!

  • PS: That black Bonnie of yours is by far the nicest I've seen among the new Bonnies, lovely bike.

  • Thanks so much! I hear ya on the lack of funds. I'm wondering if I'm gonna have fundage for essentials, like a new chain and sprockets, and now my daughter's bike is needing stuff too. BTW, your old Thrux was lovely as well.

  • thunzie you legend

love your vid the" ony rocker in the vill

got you cafe racer back ?

the dirt bike dont go with the rocker jacket dude

  • Thanks mate glad you liked it. Yeah the dirt bike thing was part of the humor in that vid. Nup, no cafe bike at the moment, I'm working on a bobber. After it's finished I reckon I might build myself up a 70's cafe of some description.

  • thunzie dude has to be a bonnie ??

have to send you a pic of my 50 th anniv bonn with my rocker jacket

  • Hell yeah man I'd love it to be a Brit bike. We'll see whats around at the time.

  • im sellin my japanese streetbike for a piece of shit cafe racer and a pair of tight levis

  • Comment removed

  • Did you see what you said Frank? "People no longer drive their classics like idiots and show off" First, you called all the riders back in the day who had fun riding Idiots, then you admit that your idea of fun is "showing off". Speak for yourself Frank, when I ride my 650 Norton, I wind it to high rpm, go 100mph and drag the mufflers. If I blow it up or wreck it the consequences are ok with me now just like they were when I did it decades ago.

  • Agreed...

  • Great video mate, keep them coming. We'll watch.

  • Rocker77 says"I've known about the ROCKER culture since I was a kid and I'm 28 now". Now THAT is a laugh riot. Newsflash, if you are 28 you are still a kid, and the only thing someone born in 1977 ever had to do with rockers and cafe racing would be to take part in pop-culture ripping-off one more real thing from the past, because they have nothing to offer in themselves.

  • The Triumph engine in the Norton frame, "Triton". Came about because it was a cheap way to have a fast good handling bike. In the fifties Triumph engines had more power than Norton engines, but the Norton had better handling. In the sixties and later the Norton engine was the equal or better of the Triumph in power, but people still put Tritons together because they were now trendy. The Rocker scene and cafe racing was originally all about performance and fun, now it is all about posturing.

  • so it's not about fun anymore? rubbish, times change, if you want a 100% perfomance bike these days, you buy

an r1. Caferacer models are classics these days, and becoming scarce.

Thats why people no longer drive their classics like idiots and show off a little more. Like people who collect WW2 stuff, they dont collect it to defend themselves against invaders..No, Building/driving and showing caferacers will always be fun regardless of their roots..

  • I know everything there is about Cafe Racers and my frineds and I are the GODS OF CAFE RACERS come to my site: dotheton(dot)com

  • BHAHAHAHA.. ahh Hector... you are funny...I knew that you always wanted to be me...LOL!!!...

  • hahahaha at least he gave ya a free plug... he put a lot of effort in to it too!

  • thats quite a bold statement, noel

  • From someone who was only born at the time all this was happening, can someone tell me why the engines were all Triumph as opposed to Norton, were Nortons no good?

  • what do they call the handle bars

  • Clip-ons..'cos they clip onto the top of the fork stancions, their easy enough ot get hold of. I also have fallen in love with the lady at 1:28, she rocks.

  • Can I ride one on the Freeway?

  • that harley at the start is awsome, I'm not a harley guy but that one is the shit.

  • how the frig are they wannabe americans - cafe racers were british - along with rockers mods , punks etc all started from brits!!

  • im american, and i completely agree with you, people have to understand the history of cafes. now america is home to the ass hole sport bike culture

  • aww dont be so hating on the sport bike crowd....

most of us are very friendly :)

    great vid also..

  • pff not many of you.

  • Making comments without thinking just results in a red neck.

Rockers and their Cafe racers where a British sub culture that had nothing to do with the USA or any other country, however the rocker movement now exists all around the world, with the USA adopting the culture.

  • I've known about the ROCKER culture since I was a kid and I'm 28 now and live in Southern California...In fact I got some of my Rockabilly friends into it...I remember fighting the fucking fag Mods when I was a teen...But the crowd I run with always new about the scene and are hardcore ROCKERS, while the scene over here is pretty much going to shit since almost everybody is mixing the scene with the ghetto gangster style... But you can spot a true ROCKER a mile away!

  • what arebthey mixing, the clothes or music?

  • I'm new to riding. I really want a cafe racer for a first bike. Can anyone recommend a good first bike in the cafe racer department. Also one more problem. I'm 5'4. So it needs to be a 27 or so inch seat height. Can anyone help me?
