We're playing this in my school band! Our director wrote it for a wind ensemble to include woodwinds. It actually didn't sound too bad. btw, we're a high school non-varsity band. lol

being rather new to this tradition, I was not familiar with this delightful march. Lucky for me, the first performance I hear is by Brighouse & Rastrick Band. Impressive. (so says a Yank)

What a great march and a great band. Love the Sop player and the principal cornet has a lovely tone, really nice. Wish I could play in band like this. WOnderfuy

Quality playing, yet very relaxed! (esp. the Sop!) Then again I suppose playing this all day is going to end up being a bit laid-back, even if it is one of a handful of the very BEST Marches in existence.

I would award an extra prize (LAST) to the "dancing buffoon" in green who can't stay still while the band play. Annoying :-(

@bassoprimo You are referring to the rink master Dave Buckley, who is most certainly NOT a buffoon and without whose organisational skills and hard work you would have nothing to film. If his necessary moving about annoys you....stand somewhere else.

@thickinthead So it's worse - the dancing buffoon should know better. It's a contest, and if he can't stay still when the band are playing then, he is doing both the audience and the band a big disservice :-(
