E36 series: 5.5-12hp gain

E46 series: 6.0-13.9hp gain

E92 series: 8.5+ hp gain

Z3/Z4 (all): 5.5-13.9hp gain

Is that not the E46 M3 "CSL" version (very light and with 360bhp)? The steering wheel appears to be a CSL version, which would explain why the M3 is so quick. Very little can touch a CSL due to its good power to weight ratio.

yea i have to say the M-5 had a bad driver, and the m-3 a good driver. You can see the m-5 pauses between shifts like he granny shifting like a muhfucka. The power to weight ratio between these 2 ponies make it a driver's race almost all the time. so as shown in this vid, better driver won.

In a drag race the E39 M5 is dead even with the E46 M3 until 100mph, then the M5 should pull ahead. They are very evenly matched but the M5 is just that little bit more powerful. Saying that you can get some very tastfully modified E39 540i's that put out 450+bhp.

the owner of M5 missed the second or third gear, but on the end of the first run he was near the M3, on the second run I cannot explain what happened, I thought that e39 will win that comparison :)
