Trust me, Brillante Mendoza does not want to mix in the mainstream movie crap, like the ones you probably enjoy watching, Koldex (with all the rich Filipino characters and all), because he is an artist. And artists like him, deserves to be in a festival along with his fellow artists like Almodovar, Tarantino, Von Trier, Resnais, Haneke, etc. because they create the most admiring and inspiring films in the world.
