Now, unless you're going to claim that the children were sneaked OUT of protective custody, under the noses of state officials, returned to the ranch to pose for staged photos and then sneaked BACK into state custody again, then your claim is false.

It is regretful, but the crackdown had to happen. Polygamy is sick and demented. The leaders needed to be brought to justice. We need to crack down even harder on the polygamous sects. I cannot think of anything signifigant occuring in the timeline that would compel the church to end polygamy. I was born into a Pentecostal family and attended the Assembly of God for a long time. Then, I attended the Community of Christ (also known as the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints), but they have moved to far away from the Book of Mormon and traditional Christian values, so I left. The true church would not do that. I have been attending LDS services for quite some time now and love them.

@kardancer1 Christ isn't seperate from the Father and the Holy Spirit. They are united in purpose and in worthiness of worship, but they are three seperate beings. In 1st Corinthians (and I am paraphrasing), Paul says there are gods many, but to us there is one God. MY personal belief (this isn't doctrine as far as I know) is that they are three seperate beings that I worship as one God. Elohim is a plural word and that is why this interpretation that makes sense to me.

Now, unless you're going to claim that the children were sneaked OUT of protective custody, under the noses of state officials, returned to the ranch to pose for staged photos and then sneaked BACK into state custody again, then your claim is false.

yes maybe the government handled it wrong. But the did not kidnap them. The parents knew were they were. Many of the mothers were taken out two. It was to protect them, and find truth about this sick cult. They weren't randomly taken fro their homes, from random people. It is regretful, but the crackdown had to happen. Polygamy is sick and demented. The leaders needed to be brought to justice. We need to crack down even harder on the polygamous sects. I cannot think of anything signifigant occuring in the timeline that would compel the church to end polygamy. Either the prohpet was guided by his own mind and ended the practice for unspecified reasons or it really was revelation. I choose to believe it was revelation.

I was born into a Pentecostal family and attended the Assembly of God for a long time. Then, I attended the Community of Christ (also known as the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints), but they have moved to far away from the Book of Mormon and traditional Christian values, so I left. The true church would not do that. I have been attending LDS services for quite some time now and love them.

@kardancer1 Christ isn't seperate from the Father and the Holy Spirit. They are united in purpose and in worthiness of worship, but they are three seperate beings. In 1st Corinthians (and I am paraphrasing), Paul says there are gods many, but to us there is one God. MY personal belief (this isn't doctrine as far as I know) is that they are three seperate beings that I worship as one God. Elohim is a plural word and that is why this interpretation that makes sense to me.

I think both the families and the social workers are sincere. However the kids got lost in the circus.

Any institution or community that allows even a few children to suffer, for even one to be raped and abused, which does nothing to prevent it or to see justice after it happens, has to be reformed or done away with. Warren Jeffs not only permitted the abuse, he actually forced underage girls to have sex with men who were much older than them, girls who did NOT give consent for sexual activity, who legally CANNOT give that consent. I've listened to "educational" tapes created and voiced by Warren Jeffs. It was horrendous tyrannical brainwashing. I know more than you think. Watching the FLDS women interviews on television is painful for me, because I can tell they're brainwashed. It doesn't take a trained professional to spot someone who's terrified of saying the wrong thing. Uncomfortable pauses, fake smiles and laughter when the controversial topics come up, it's only too easy to see.

Let's not forget it's the Welfare system supporting FLDS children b/c the man can not provide enough money to support 5 wives & 30 kids on one income.
