hope did not expect to see his mother if you even played chapter 1 her mother died from falling but snow saved her... then he dropped her on accident. And on another chapter I forgot which 1 but hope tried to get his revenge on snow but he fell off the cliff and snow managed to save him. @luis85663 That's exactly what gameinformer said about him (almost word-for-word actually). And if you haven't noticed, Hope has the highest magic stat, but he sucks at strength as it is. He only actually uses his boomerang when the enemy is completely resistant to magic, meaning it doesn't matter what weapon he uses, cause he never uses it anyway.

I wouldn't say that 14 years old should should really be classed as a kid age. 8 or 9 yes but 14? No way. I was 14 when I played this game and I prefer the term young adult (teenager if you really wish). I really don't think that a 14 year old's mind is the mind of a kids, or an adults for that matter. It's somewhere in between and besides at the end of this game Hope certainly doesn't act like a kid. By the way if you really want a reference to a kid on a big adventure then look at pokemon.

I think part of the reason aside from Hope being hated outside of appearance and personality is this: He's a kid. On a big adventure, the last thing any character wants is to bring a kid along into any great combat situation where they can end up getting hurt or jeopardizing things (Even if they mean well, it is bound to happen). Ok, he's kind of got no choice in the matter of coming along but...all the same, if you were in the party you'd no doubt feel some sense of uncomfortable guilt at (C

@infernai the fact you are willingly throwing a fourteen year old boy into danger and scenario's that could very easily kill your whole party, imagine what that could do to him. That's kind of my reasoning for hating hope being in the party, because he really should be at home or somewhere safe and not out in the center of danger. Call me odd if you want but...I played Drakengard. Try coming out of that game and not wanting to get any kid character as far away from a battle as you possibly can.

@akurokudemdem Don't mention it. His mother died in a critical phase of his life, and all people do is bitch about how "whiney" or "faggy" he is. Of course the kid is bound to be emotional and angsty, because of his age and what he has been through. As the game progresses he gets more assertive, even leader-like, though not dominant. He is the only character who seems to actually try to think about things & situations and say stuff that makes sense.
