  • I'll check it out. I got to be ready for sightseeing and trying the beaches (obviously)! Cheers!

  • @MsKas86 :)

  • This seem to be helpful. I am going to Lisbon in May for 3 days - and I am very excited. Will watch out for the crazy drivers!!! Thanks !

  • @MsKas86 you will have fun. but yeah, the drivers :) watch out! i have a top 10 lisbon video on here too that may help you.

  • Your remarks on the hotels' offers are totally untrue.

  • @multimediaperson I strongly disagree. I lived there for 5 years (just moved a few months ago) and I stand by my opinion on the hotels.

  • "unless you go to McDonalds"... Amazing.

  • @multimediaperson you can go to cafes but if you want a traditional portuguese meal outside the "kitchen" hours (that would be between 3 and 7:30) then you are pretty much restricted to the pedestrian/tourist street downtown.

  • Dude: I'm worried about you. Its all about food and dog poop with you

  • @vnvmcal What are the two things that all people do? Eat and Poop so I figured I would get the biggest demographic out there with this video :) People that eat and poop ;)

Thanks for watching and worrying about me :) hope you will subscribe! Have a great weekend!

  • Lisbon is a great city and we chose there because we get the convenience of the city/nightlife but we also have a beach nearby to relax and swim. The train journey from Lisbon to the beach in Cais Cais is lovely, goes right a long the coast. We also met some locals who took us to some nice clubs and we partied all night. We went to once small placed that opened at like 6am to 12 which was cool. Greetings from Ireland!

  • Hahahahahah... That's a fake hasish by the way, made by belt leather! Americans dont buy hasish in Lisbon!!! ^^

  • @epicureabovarista Nobody should buy hashish in lisbon. its all fake. but it is funnyhow they go from selling sunglasses to selling cocaine in two breaths :)

  • @woltersworld ahah don't forget it's just some doubtful street sellers, but you just say 'no, thank you' and they will not disturbe you anymore.

I'm not even a smoker and i agree with drugs allowed (with moderate consume and without disturbing society, of course). An american friend of mine living here saw a man just 'smoking a blunt' (i suppose is the word 'blunt') and he was 'shocked' !! lol and i just laughed. People must be free to do what they want, in a civilized way ;)

  • I'm portuguese and I really liked your video. It is so true what you said about the dog poop on the street actually it's sad it's such a beautiful city and than when you walk on the street you've to wacht out. I just want to tell you that another great thing about portugal is the mall is open until midnight because in some countries in europe like germany thay clse at 7p.m. and on sunday the grocery stores are also open :)

  • @Gothic7Princess i remember the first time i visited portugal in 2000 and thought "wow" this is cool! its open at mindnight and movies at 1am :)

my wife and i miss the late nights of lisbon. great place miss it.

  • i just noticed i stayed in a hotel near where u are!! would the train station be to your right and the sea behind u??

  • @ultimatedynamo1 its a bit of a walk but yeah river is down to my left and back and the rossio station is to my right and up and over a big hill :) got to love those hills in lisbon :)

thanks for watching and commenting! please subscribe!

  • I laughed so much when you talked about our driving. I have seen some "artists" but I never realized they we were insane ahah But it is awesome to see our country through others eyes!

  • @PokeKITT2000 Yeah, we had our son who lived in lisbon with us for 2 years trained about walking next to the buildings :) it was funny. thanks for the nice comments on this one and on the one on portugal. please subscirbe and thanks for the comments and for watching!

  • @woltersworld Already subscribed and watched the videos about Scotland as well and I am now convinced to go there as soon as possible.

  • @PokeKITT2000 Awesome. Thanks for subscribing. I really love Scotland. I hope you will fall in love with it too! Thanks again!

  • December 1st but this was posted a day before :\

  • @afonsotorre Filmed in on the 30th of November the day before. and wow... complaining because the date I say and the date it is posted is about 12 hours off :)

    Think big picture :)

  • drugs are legal up to 5g in Lisbon, that's why police dont give afuck!

  • @afonsotorre They also don't seem to give "afuck" as you say when you get robbed on the metro. I have seen it four seperate times people getting robbed on the metro and I have even been yelling at cops in the station saying "those guys just robbed that guy" and the cops just looked at me and the guy that was robbed, then the robbers running off and said, "go to the police station and report it" so please expalin that one to me. It has been both Portuguese and foreigners robbed, fyi

  • @woltersworld I've been robbed myself in a metro station. And obviously the only thing you have to go is report it to the police station... you really expecting a police officer to chase someone ? Lazy ass fat portuguese officers

  • @afonsotorre Yeah, God forbid they actually chase criminals. Especially when they are standing right next to them. (don't get me started about them with their mobile phones)

  • (the drugs thing, it's simple , weed-oregano, cocaine-flour, haxixe-knorr)

  • @clotmock I wondered why my roommates always smelled like Pao Caseiro and Cozinha Portuguesa :)

  • One of the first and last things you said in the movie is wrong. That building is not Palácio de S. Bento. That's the Parliament.

  • @olifilipe I am sorry but I am right. Why not look up "Palacio de S. Bento" online and you will see it says The official name of the parliment is Palacio Sao Bento... Home of the national assembly...

So I guess I was not wrong in the first or last place :)

    Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • About things you gonna hate :

It is not true that restaurants are closed. You are able to eatything you want between 3pm and 6 pm. Just eating habits here are different, thats why they might look at you like on a crazy people. And the second thing - it is not true about crazy drivers. I've nevers seen such pollite and organized driers anywhere, I live in Lisbon since 3 months and never had an oportunity to fall under any car. I'm from Poland, and drivers there are 10 times worse.

  • @stachu90 Not sure where you like to eat, unless it is a cafe with sandwiches but the "kitchens" of the tascas and restaurants are mostly closed from 3pm until 7pm. You will not be getting any bacalhau unless you are in the algarve in the tourist areas on in lisbon on a few tourists streets. those yes you can get stuff, but those are not places you would want to eat if you want real portuguese food. And yes polish drivers suck (i worked in poland & driving sucked) but PT drivers suck2

  • oh, i don't know if you saw the promotional video of the country for 2011, we get the second place in the festival realized in Poland :D here is the link:

    youtube.com/watch?v=FIkUmzLFVio

  • Hello, thanks for your video !

I agree with everything that you said. But just one more note:

at night, we go out late (not before 00h00) , to bairro or santos, as you said, to drink something and talk and have fun... BUT this is the first part of the night LOL Normally at 2h30, people begin to go to the clubs to dance until morning and we have many here, definitely you have to try LUX (my favourite), KAPITAL, URBAN BEACH, PLATEAU, BBC, SILK, docas zone, just to give some examples. :)

  • Loved it! great Job once more two thumps up :)

  • Hey, have you ever tried to go to Coimbra?, you should try it! Come to visit us in May, on Queima das Fitas!

  • @omardiogo I think i still have the resaca from the last time i was in coimbra ;)

  • Lolol ok, you have been in Coimbra! lol, did you make any video about that?

  • @omardiogo i may have... but its still a bit cloudy :) i went there 4 times but they were all before i started wolters world so no videos :(

  • @woltersworld ok :D

  • EPA! LISBOA PARA SEMPRE!! Americano -_-

  • Restaurants do not open at 20:00 for dinner. Not true.

And since when are portuguese people crazy drivers?

  • @Ghulyen the restaurants reopen at 7 or 730 and most of the time you cannot get your meal until 8. this is a fact, just walk around town and you will see, i have lived in lisbon for 5 years and have eaten out quite a bit overr that time. also, portugal has one of the highest mortality rates on the road in europe another fact. so please do not tell me that portuguese are not crazy drivers. walk from Campo do ourique to avenida and honestly tell me that the people are not insane drivers.

  • @woltersworld well, about crazy drivers you are right

  • Restaurants do not open at 20:00 for dinner. Not true.

  • Loved your video woltersworld.

I generally agree with you critics but I guess you are wrong when you say no good medium or cheap acomodation. We have the best hostels in the world, with cheap prices:

    Top 10 Worldwide Hostels

    1. Travellers House, Lisbon, Portugal

    2. Rossio Hostel, Lisbon, Portugal

    3. Living Lounge Hostel, Lisbon, Portugal

    4. Academy Hostel, Florence, Italy

    5. Carpe Noctem, Budapest, Hungary

  • @Nunogra 5 out of 10 are in lisbon? seriously? that is not an acurate list. Travel around europe & you will find vastly superior hostels in Germany, Austria, France & Spain versus what you have here. The Riga nd Budapest ones are very good. But best in Europe? I find it hard to believe that 5 of the 10 best hostels in europe are in the same city AND even more so that they are in Portugal which is infamous for its bad customer service. So I stand by my love and hates. fyi hostels are not hotels

  • @woltersworld

I couldn´t believe it myself too. It's a worldwide ranking, not just Europe, and for three years in a row :).

I'll send you a personal message with two links so you can check this.

Are we infamous for bad customer service in general? I didn't know that but I believe you cause you are an experienced traveler.

Ok hostels are not hotels, I just showed this rank so people wouldn´t think we don´t have good cheap accomodation has you said.

  • @Nunogra hey, i appreciate the help. that is why i have the comments on so when people can help and let other travelers know. i will put those hostels on my lisbon page on my website. thanks for the info. and unfortunately portugal does not tend to rank very high on the "customer service" level. :( but we can always improve :) thanks for the comments and help with the hostels in lisbon. great to hear!

  • 6. The Riverhouse Backpackers, Cardiff, Wales

    7. Lisbon Lounge Hostel, Lisbon, Portugal

    8. Greg & Tom Hostel, Krakow, Poland

    9. The Naughty Squirrel Backpackers Hostel, Riga, Latvia

    10. Lisboa Central Hostel, Lisbon, Portugal
