Simply Beautiful! This is what smooth jaz is all about. They just dont make love songs like this anymore! This song features my favorite group of all time Take6 and to combine them with Brian Mcknight, oh man! I just recently got engaged and this song explains how I feel about him! They really showed how to be in Love! They definitely do not make songs like this anymore! Awesome Job Fellas! Simply Marvelous!!!!!!!
'There I go, there I go...You are the soul that SNAPS my control ...I'm wrapped up in your magic,... music all around me, crazy music,... music that keeps calling me so VERY close to you, turns me your slave !! When we are one, I'm not afraid !! You make me feel SO GOOD !!
ArchieGe:..... Dude.... You did a great job on these visuals, using the liner note images to really great effect!! I enjoyed that so much as I sang along on my mic! Bravo, man.... awesome!
This is jazz surely at it's best! I was just about to go to sleep and dream about my beautiful wife and then I said, I might as well get a head start with this cooll, smooth classic! They don't even try and make love songs anymore! How fast can she strip or ride the pole songs are ruling the radio, and it has to stop! If anyone spots a love song please call 1-877-LoveSongisneeded!!LOL! Goodnight and peace, got some good dreaming to do!
Okay - I listened to Amy Winehouse's - version a few times. She's bad-assed. She reminds me of Billy Holiday. I love her version. She's just as smooth and jazzy as anyone else. I actually like her version better than this one although I like this one, too.
This is a cool version of this song. My favorite version is by someone most of you have probably never heard of, King Pleasure. I haven't listened to Amy's version yet. But, when I do, I'll come on this side and let you know what I think - not that you care - but yaknow.
O.K.--this is real tricky. You' re right about Jimmy McHugh and Dorothy Fields wrote the tune: I'm In The Mood For Love. James Moody improvised a solo while performing the tune and from that solo jazz singer Eddie Jefferson wrote lyrics just to the sax solo which has become Moodys Mood For Love.
I am a huge fan of Amy BUT this song is best left to those who continue to give it the smooth sound it soooooo deserves. This is one of the all time great versions of this SASSY song.
Although I absolutely love Amy Winehouse's version,,,it is awesome,,,I think this version is the BEST ever. Bryan McKnight,,Patty Austin and TAKE 6?? Are you kidding me?? lol None compares to this one. enV =)
I completely agree with you,,in regards to Amy. I can't get enough of her music. My fave of hers is "Help Yourself" and her version of Moody's is one of best,,because it IS Amy's version. However the acapella mix of Take 6 and Brian Mcknight is absolutely amazing. Takes my breath away!!! =) enV
ok u guys know whatcha like that's kool but this song is one that was used by the GREAT FRANKIE CROCKER back in the last 70's thru the 90's Frankie died in 2000,but this song shall all was be his closing song.8 oclock on WBLS NY,NJ,CONN.PEN.
I remember Frankie, and you are so right. I used to hear him closing out with this song in L.A. on KBCA, KKGO or KJLH, not quite sure which, but I know it was one of those very good jazz stations. Do you remember who's recording he was playing then tho? It obviously wasn't Take 6.
You really need to listen the version with Betty Carter or the one on George Benson's solo album featuring Ms Patti Austin before you give Amy Winehouse the final nod as to having the best version all due respect to Amy.
Clarence Beeks (King Pleasure)owns this song..he was doing it in the early 1950's..I think he wrote the vocalisation..he didn't work for the last 20 years of his life...what a guy!!!!!!!!!! He'll never be forgotten....
I just love this song...

This song don't have nothing to do with smooth jazz. It's based on a James Moody solo from the 50's on a song called "In the Mood for Love."

James Moody is the composer. Q owes his career to Moody who gave him a break when he was starting out. Jimmy and Dorothy wrote the lyrics.
