its not bout the raising of hands anyway,that first rider was first nailed under his bike then ran over by the second rider then slammed onto by the third riders bike...that must have been shit,i got ran over by a car once after i lost control of my bike,but heaven knows how i'm still alive right now...

Uh, the hand raised is to signal the other riders steam rollingin at high speed to SLOW down...not solidarity....
Like they immediatley know the guy is dead or near dead? Geez. Good video, Armuotas but no clue about bike racing.

this was at calder park in 1999 right i think. The bikes were a support race to the v8s I THINK! This was on he same weekend that Craig Lowndes had his massive cartwheel crash... I THINK!!

Think you're spot on there. The first guy to fall is Craig Connell, the second is Adam ''Rusty'' Ferguson and the flying rider on the GSX-R is Paul Free.

Got to agree with pyroforlife, the left hand is on the clutch the right hand throttle and front brake, racers raise their hand to signal to the other racers that they have stopped racing. When several ahead of you do then you know to stop racing yourself.

Short from video description: "...Notice the raised left hand of some other bikers as the solidarity sign for the "fallen" ones. They take off hands from acclerator to let personnel go for help."
