I have 8800 gts 320 mb ,quad core ,win vista sp 1 , 4 gb ram etc and you can't play crysis properly on very high settings it frames alot and in combat you have very low fps , just go medium 1280x1024 and show off :)

first off you cant even get straight in your info about what GPU your using.. are you using an 8800 or a 9800?

secondly i dont care what the options screen shows.. you may have used a mod to ALLOW very high to be turned on but guess what if you r on XP.. theres NO dx10 effects active as dx10 dont run in xp.

thirly.. xp only registers 3 megs of ram.. not 6.

I thought the gtx 260 core 216 has a 55nm architecture? Wasn't the normal gtx260 65nm architecture? I plan to build new system with core i7 920 and gtx 260. Going to voltmod that also. I will get evga and they have a special voltage program just for voltmodding. Much easier than modding hardware!

the newer gtx 260 core 216 are 55nm, but i got mine in december, before the 55nm were out. like 2 weeks later 55nm came out, xD. i might step up to the 55nm it would only cost shipping. and yeah my card is one of the few that is supported models of the evga volt program, but ive used it and have gotten pretty poor results sadly. ;(. if youre going i7 route, couldnt you get another 4850 and crossfire? thatd be a sick performer.

and im gettiing brutaly low unplayable gfx even on maintream settings...

Well, there is no reason that I can see that it should be running like that, try upgrading the drivers. If that doesnt work try putting in a new processor.

what is the front side bus of your MOBO maybe its bottle necking your system your process or at 3.0 GHz + should be good enough! most games will not need a CPU with over 3.0Ghz. soo...

Hm, I think it's faster if you use a higher res(8800's tend to get low fps at low res)

and at 1280x1024 on very high I get about 30(motion blur kills it). On High about 40-50.

AMD turion X2 2GHz 2 GB RAM DX 9 800x600 system with hd 2400 xt: this one was an apple iMac. mobility hd 2400 xt 364mb intel c2duo 2GHz 1Gb RAM DX 10 800x600 (bootcamp) I got ~0.2 - 30 fps. (combat vs staring at the ground)

I have no idea what the driver on the x1200 system was, and I don't think the imac's driver was 100% up to date either.

the imac was just factory minimum. I didn't get it for gaming. and the toshiba was my dad's work laptop.

the test wasn't all that fair.

crysis requires 1.5 GB RAM for vista. I didn't meet that.

thats true, now i play on DX9 and i can play faster, and really there are not to much diference with DX10. I play in windows xp all on High, and vista almost all on very high on 1024 or 1152 with DX9. I think DX10 sucks by now.

yes u can, specially if it is 512mb, u need to run it in medium settings and some in high, it performs good, but not too much.
