The 599 has so much Grand Tourer in its DNA, you might forget Ferrari actually became famous for sports cars. The 599 never appealed to me because it looked like it was aimed toward Aston Martin and Bentley rather than Porsche and Lamborghini. I have loved the Ferrari marque all my life but the 599 and 612 were hardly the most exciting thing to come out of Maranello. Thank God for the 458. This LFA tho, is a proper sports car and it was meant for the track which is funny, because it's a Lexus...

The people that lexus is targeting with that LFA are not the types that look at pricetags. Yeah it cost 300k (isnt it closer to 350K+?) but if you got it to blow who cares. Ive typically bought sports cars in the past based on bang for the buck also. But if I was just burning 20's in my fireplace at night hell yeah I would buy a LFA thats saying alot for someone like me who has had a couple domestic "sports cars" in the past.
The LFA costs over $300k and yet the $120k Corvette ZR1 beats it in 0-60, 0-100, 1/4 mile time and speed, top speed(by 3 mph), and has the same skidpad g's. On the bright side, the LFA lets you stop 1 foot shorter from 80-0, and you get slightly better mpg. Found all of this in the current issue of Road & Track if you want to raise the bullshit flag. Between the LFA and 599, I'd choose the 599. From my understanding, it can beat the ZR1.

Has the LFA ever lost a drag race? I've seen it almost lose to the Audi R8 on a cable show and I've seen it beat a GT-R but I've never seen or heard it lose ever. Although I'm sure it will fall to a Veyron. That car's like a jet on wheels.

the LFA looks too cheap and japanese. for the price it's going at you'd expect either a more extreme look (like a zonda), or a classier look (like a ferrari/lamborghini).
He said the transmission feels clunky, not the car - Lexus actually said they developed the transmission to feel more like a classic box on changes, and they purposely went for slightly longer shift times so that you can feel the changes as opposed to using a dual-clutch or super-fast shifting tranny.

I would certainly take the Lexus. Between these 2, I take the Lexus, it will last more than 100k miles where as the Ferrari's engine will lose compression every 30 to 50k miles, losing horse power as the engine degenerates.

The people that lexus is targeting with that LFA are not the types that look at pricetags. Yeah it cost 300k (isnt it closer to 350K+?) but if you got it to blow who cares. Ive typically bought sports cars in the past based on bang for the buck also. But if I was just burning 20's in my fireplace at night hell yeah I would buy a LFA thats saying alot for someone like me who has had a couple domestic "sports cars" in the past.

The LFA costs over $300k and yet the $120k Corvette ZR1 beats it in 0-60, 0-100, 1/4 mile time and speed, top speed(by 3 mph), and has the same skidpad g's. On the bright side, the LFA lets you stop 1 foot shorter from 80-0, and you get slightly better mpg. Found all of this in the current issue of Road & Track if you want to raise the bullshit flag. Between the LFA and 599, I'd choose the 599. From my understanding, it can beat the ZR1.

Anyone considering an LFA would laugh at the idea of the ZR1 as an alternative. If you wanted a car faster than the LFA, just get a Nissan GTR. But your comment shows you miss the point of the LFA.

@Mubble I guess I did miss the point of the LFA, mainly because I look at cars and see what the best "bang for the buck" is, you know? Why would I want to invest in the LFA when a car that's almost 1/3rd the price can beat it, and if I did want to spend that much(if I had that much), why not buy a Lambo or Ferrari, or something like that? Its got some pretty wicked tech, I'll give it that, but performance/dollar wise, not going there. Though you're right about the GTR for most things.

They'll no doubt already have a ZR1 plus Lambos etc. I agree though that the LFA should have been a 600hp+ car with even higher performance, especially with the GTR already on the market at 1/4 the price.

Has the LFA ever lost a drag race? I've seen it almost lose to the Audi R8 on a cable show and I've seen it beat a GT-R but I've never seen or heard it lose ever. Although I'm sure it will fall to a Veyron. That car's like a jet on wheels.

He said the transmission feels clunky, not the car - Lexus actually said they developed the transmission to feel more like a classic box on changes, and they purposely went for slightly longer shift times so that you can feel the changes as opposed to using a dual-clutch or super-fast shifting tranny.

@chltmdwp Apparently these 2 do not put enough numbers to be considered "Super" they do, indeed are exotic, midsized sports cars. 997 turbo,gt2,gt2,s; Panamera turbo, s, smoke these 2 vehicles and are not considered super cars.
Between these 2, I take the Lexus, it will last more than 100k miles where as the Ferrari's engine will lose compression every 30 to 50k miles, losing horse power as the engine degenerates.
