i really wish i'd seen this video

    before christmas now.

  • you look a lot like Drew Barrymoore in this wicked tormentment of a bow tutorial :p

i hate bows with the passion now

    dayum you Paperlilies!!!!!

hahaha just kidding babe. i'd hit it!

  • cool great awesome looks so pretty i think i can do it but can u use like something else rather than a split pin ? please reply

  • Use clear tape for each figure eights, then just staple them all together. :)

  • oh thanks =]

  • I decided to try making some of these bows, but I didn't really have any good magazines to use for them! D:

So I just used some pretty wrapping paper :o

But then, I didn't have any of those split pins!! And it was late when I decided to make these bows, so instead of waiting to buy some of the split pins, I decided to thread the bow strips together with yarn with a pin through one end to make the poking easier! @.@

Sounds rather complex, but it worked and the bows were beautiful! :D

  • Thanx for the how-to . I liked that purple bow you made ^_^ .

  • I think your computer camera is very good!

  • cool! wat font did u use at the begining?

  • cool, thanks!

  • They look really good if you make them out of newspaper as well. The Financial Times works particularly well as the paper is pink, so you still have the newsprint, but on a different colour paper - it's noice, it's different, it's unusual.

  • hey

    its awesome

  • That was fabulous and they look great..

Thanks Franny from Crossfield, Alberta, Canada

  • thnx

  • lovee your voice.. :)):):):):)

    great video.

  • another good job.

  • woooooow

  • She is the best!

  • I've always wondered how they work. Good stuff!

Happy New Year to ye, and best of 2009.

  • For the life of me I can't figure out how you got in my favorites [no offense] too much Jägermeister I guess..:-/

  • omg thats so cool! im gonna do that !

  • very cool!...thanks!

  • last!

  • 3:49 ...whattttt lol

  • I'm curious: Why did you say 1 inch instead of 25mm (25.4 if you want to be exact)?

  • Some places in the world use different metric systems. :)

  • I'm curious: Why would you say 25mm when it's 7 sylables and fewer english speaking people understand it when you could say 'an inch' which is 2 sylables and universally understood among non-shitty countries?

  • I asked, because she didn't sound America. Besides, I don't think phonics should be a consideration when choosing a system of measure. ^_^

  • Americans, British and Australians know instinctively what 'an inch' is in their head, 25mm takes a bit of working out. That's basically why.

  • Very Cool!! Thanks for sharing!

  • BOOKCASE video, maybe someday soon!

mellow, on a par with German delicatessen reviews.

  • In America, those things are called paper fasteners.

  • So I whipped this fun craft out during christmas. It was a huge hit! people loved it. we got bows of all diferent colors, thin ones, fat ones, big and small ones. different textures and stuff. We just put them on the presents under the tree. One of my favorite was one made out of half naked men. you could only see parts of arms, legs, faces, abs, and nipples. Thanks Paperlillies, spiced up my holidays. PS. a good alternative for the pins is just tape, or staples.

  • I just tried this and it works! thanks Paperlillies!

  • pikachu is so cool it is yellow it can electricute my sister and he is so adorable!

  • another great video. You put a lot of thought in them.

    thanks for sharing.

  • cool, it looks like a real ribbon, im gonna try that

  • Paperlilies, I hope you don't mind, but I never listen to what you're saying. It's cuz you're too lovely, and the accent is so to die for.

  • just imagine there is probably a person in a factory that does that all day long for the ones you can buy :D

  • or a machine in a factory

  • Merry Christmas to you, hope you got everything you wanted :o)

  • I did try this and it was harder then it looks lol!

Although, i didnt have any of those pin things so i used blue tac and that failed!

  • When I was a kid and my sisters and I did this we just used celophane tape no pins.

  • i didnt even have any celophane. tryed using a stapler but it got all crumpled

  • AWSOME and so easy we should makeout

  • Your wayyyyy hotter then mememoly.

  • super cool.

  • I've always wondered how those are made.

  • you're so original

    i admire you XD

  • thats happened to me before too frogman!

  • Huh... I never realized it was that easy... I have a bit of a horror story with split pins, when I was in school, we were using them from some creative thing back when I was something around 7. As I seperated one, someone nudged me, and the pin got shoved in underneath my thumbnail.

I wouldn;t say I was afraid of them, but I ahve been extremely wary everytime I' ve used them since.

  • Thank you PL that was AWESOME!!

  • I'm trying to make them right now and they're turning out like shit

I think I need to use different paper

  • Good idea, just a little late xD

  • BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAH!!!

    you're so funny

    this is so creative

if i had split pins i would absoLUTELY make this

    but i don't, so i won't

  • Hola

    me gustaria penetrarte

  • die.

  • Cool!

  • Wow, that's pretty cool... what a great way to recycle old magazines you don't want anymore. I'm gonna try that. :p

  • ART ATTACK!

  • well,I like you were my cristmas present

  • I really love u, believe me !!

  • Yey, thanks. I'm so chuffed that after 18 years i finally know how to make these!!!

TIP- Unused uni prospectus' have great colourful imagery in them to cut up (especially art and design ones!!!)

  • uh, woot

  • Now we know what to do when we wait for the last minute to wrap presents on Christmas Eve and run out of bows and no stores are open. :/

  • why how educational...

    thanks for sharing...

  • i used to think that gift shops had these ribbon machines which would magically produce the gift ribbons like you showed..hahha..now i know how they do it! this was awesome =D

  • wow, that was cool ;o)

  • Good job :)

  • Very pretty and the bows are nice too;)

  • That is great! Thank you so much for sharing that.....

  • That's so cool! I'm doing that for the bough on my girlfriend's present :D

  • Oo, that's a good way to save money and it looks like fun.

  • if you were the only person I ever subscribed to on Youtube, I would be happy with that. Your smart, gorgeous, talented, great voice, should I continue? No matter what kind of day I am having your videos cheer me up, your tried to go to rehab one is just crazy.

  • SWEET GOGALLY MOOGALY!

    epic win

  • thanks so much for sharing!! I got out last years decorations to find all my bows squished and have been making bows out of my wrapping paper but these look much easier than what I was doing!!!

  • Great video as usual!

  • This is awesome I'm so making these out of old magazines for all my christmas presents! Thanks!

  • this is so helpful :]! thanks !! and its amazingly cheap :D

  • Thanks Bryony, but that looks like a day's work for all thumbs me. I always make bloke parcels. That's an unruly shape nearly falling off, with excessive amounts of sellotape vainly trying to hold it all together. Even better I use inappropriate paper like Christmas paper on a birthday present. Bows, sorry can't handle that.

  • that's so cute! i like the magazine page idea it's very unique

  • That is very creative:)

  • that is so cool

  • Wow, those are sooo easy!! I always wondered how they made those. I have a bunch of ribbon I'm going to try to make it with. Now I have a use for all my ribbon. YAY!!! Awesome vid!!

  • Sometimes Ribbons look like Bunny Ears :)

    Can I get a witness?

  • YOU ARE AWESOME!!!

I've always loved those bows, so thanks for this video.

  • Great video! You are the paper queen. ;-) lol! Merry Christmas!

  • What have I been doing buying those sort of bows at the store all these years?!

    [Thank you!]
