This is about fashion as an art form not as a utility. Just as music or poetry is art, this is art to a lot of people. If it makes them happy, then great. It's just like music!

I wonder why there are so many male Haute Couture designers at the top of their respective Houses and so many unknown female sewing workers doing the manuel labor!? The women being interviewed sound like they want to marry the male designers....yet the workers are the ones putting the clothes together. Strange.

@GurlPrincess when you see an amazing building do you praise the architect or the thousands of workers that built it? the woman sewing love their job and do it with perfection. Its what they do and they are happy to do it, ask any of them. also, there are and have been several female Haute Couture designers such as Adeline André and Anne Valérie Hash (today), and Chanel and Elsa Schiaparelli...

they are doing a great disservice by showing the clothes with no one in them.
clothes that well made do not look good on a hanger!

@dyl479 agreed! I truly wish the quality were better for seeing these dresses. I caught some of this documentary over the holidays on CBC and the resolution made all the difference. wow.
