  • Ahhh my home town :p bet u cnt sai that eh? most ov us welsh ppl vnt eiver :L

  • Its a real place in Anglesey, north Wales. The proper name of the village is Llanfairpwllgwyngyll, however they made it longer to outdo it's nearest rivals. Its basically a sentence put together, so the case of 4 'l' in the middle, they belong in two words, one word ending with ll and the other word begining with ll.

  • I love Wales. I will be living there in a couple of years. :)

  • it is a real place in north wales but the name was made as a joke

  • it wasn't made up as a joke.

    Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch actually means in english

Saint Mary's Church in the hollow of the white hazel near a rapid whirlpool

and the Church of Saint Tysilio of the red cave.

  • @coreyman10 no it wasnt it is the location of the church in that town.

  • @coreyman10 so is it really the name or what?

  • ive been there and i can say it :)

  • Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogeryllllwyndrobwyddllandeseiliogogogoch

  • Well, they spelt it right unlike some around here Stocky112 :). Maybe you should learn some Welsh. It makes your penis grow u know.

  • i love that it has 4 L's in a row

  • looks like as tho someone was pressing random keys on the keyboard lol

  • There you have just summed up my entire thoughts on the Welsh language. I think they just made it up to spite us English invaders. ;)

  • @piseth7 Dammit, I was just about to type that :)

  • omg its not a joke i live in caernarfon and thats 30 mins from there

  • Woo! I've been there. Well, seen it but whatever. It was a P7 trip to Wales though, haha!

  • Town name means: "St. Mary's church in the hollow of the white hazel near the fast whirlpool of Llantysilio of the red cave"

  • it means st mary by the dell of little white aspen near the church and the whirlpool of st tysilio by the red cave

  • I'm welsh.. I can say it! It's a tiny village, and no it's not a joke.. it's the longest place name in Britain :)

  • I can say it :D i learnt it when i lived in wales durin one of my welsh lessons lol :D:D

  • is this a joke?whoever thought of that name must be crazy person

  • lol i thought it was impossible to say but i learnt it in one night

  • The name was made up in the 1860s as a publicity stunt (basically to attract gullible tourists!).

  • I'm sure Wales is the best. Welsh is widely studied at my country, but they must be kidding!

    That word is impossible!

  • Nope, it really is the name of a village. I've been able to say it properly off by heart since I was about 5; although I am a fluent first language Welsh speaker, and I live near it. We just call it Llanfair PG or Llanfairpwll for short though.

Hope i have educated you in some way! LOL

haha, that's on the outside wall of Pringles!! (=

  • it's name of city/village in Wales.

  • Which one?? lol, they're two different things. It's a tiny little village in reality.

  • i can say it off by heart nd evrybodyz lyke

    WTF!?

  • Like nearly everyone in wales knows it!

  • What does it mean?

  • it's a welsh Village.

  • It means "St Mary's Church in the hollow of the white hazel near to the rapid whirlpool and the church of Sr Tysilio of the red cave." This city's name sounds even stranger to portuguese people like me! xD

  • Wales is the best!

We don't call it Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch - we call it Llanfair or Llanfairpwll. So don't make fun of it ok!

  • On Isle of ANGLESEY !

  • I love wales but sadley it is being destroyed by the welsh assembly. Did you know that they sell old people's homes while they are still alive. They sell the houses to get mony. They are destroying the NHS did you know 5 people have died in wales since the assembly started. Did you know that in some cases you can not get a doctor till the next day. If you would like to make your views about the assembly plese leave a comment.

  • Say the damn word, goddamnit!

  • They sounded like tourists, so they probably can't

  • ...OR Llanfair P.G. as it's known locally!

  • Really, i thought it was "Llanfair-oh fuck it".

  • whats in a name anyway!

  • What its not in rhyl!!! I live in llanfair ;)

  • The english translation is: Saint marys church in the hollow of the white hazel near a rapid whirlpool and the church of saint tysillio of the red cave!!!

  • Yes, it's a village in Wales, nonetheless it has a meaning.

It means "The church of St. Mary in the hollow of white hazel trees near the rapid whirlpool by St. Tysilio's of the red cave".

  • english translation? its a place in whales

  • Its Wales you twat! learn geography!

  • i would love the person name like that on the football shirt and your getting booked, ref now spell it Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch

  • whats the english translation please???

  • Rhyl

  • what?

  • Well, I was drawing upon an irony by countering the underpinning purpose of this item by referring to another location with, conversely, a contracted appellation.

In short, a diatribe which juxtaposes the focus of the video-gram, with the brevity of my post.

    Okay?

  • haha :]

  • ??????

  • o kurwa xD

  • first
