actually if those of you who were saying it is background plane lights, try opening the IMG files, and you will notice rockstar actually names some of their files some weird an unexplainable things such as in san andreas where some IMG files were in fact named ufo_light2.dff or ufo_light3.dff so are these image files in fact ufo lights? my guess would be yes seeing how they are named ufo_light2.dff and ufo_light3.dff so yall that think these are glitches are pretty dumb and profound!

Unfortunately, I only have the PS3 copy so I cannot do this. But I’m sure that would solve the mystery by looking at what Rockstar named it and programmed it to be.

@FatherAcid well you can look at those files but you have to do all kinds of crap with scripting converting and just way to much to do to see if it is a ufo but it is possible to look at them through special programs and tools.

@FatherAcid It doesn't really mean anything really. It just means that at the time of naming the file, Rockstar were either unsure of it's ultimate function, or they went with ambiguity. There's tons of other texture files in there that say stuff like "unknown" or "othertexture". The probably are just intended to appear as planes, just like distance cars use a light corona instead of rendering a full vehicle model.
